Has anyone else installed the Simflyers KEWR for FS2004? I did and the progressive taxi is way off. Has anyone else noticed this? I hope there is a fix for this. Regards, Bob.

Maybe it is because I have build 30612.02 or maybe my rig or drivers can't see it where it used to be in FS2002 but it be gone. You know, the little red line that you could drag around the aircraft to get views from the rear. P4 3.2 G, GForce 4600 128 M, 1000+ RAM, 120 G HD, 21" EZIO Monitor, 45.20 NVidia driver. On a happier note I watched a documentary on Flight Simulation on the Discovery Channel Tues and they had several folk from Microsoft FS team, head shed on down, proudly talking about their COF development. This part went on about 15 minutes showing the programmers at work on, of all things, flight dynamics. Little did I know they were disabling some of them.

For aircraft which have a TO/GA gauge, I have not been able to get takeoff power to go above about 86% useing this function. Does anybody know where, or how to raise the limit on this item? Just opening the throttles up full open works fine, but of course everything is redlined. Thanks:RTH

Hi!Got another question... I found a wave-file simulating different sounds from the passengers and the cabin. What keyword(s) should I use in the sound.cfg file to have it played during flight? And are there different keywords determing when during the flight the wave-file is played?TIA,Richard from Sweden

As we try to tweak FS2004 and find our own individual "sweet spots", we are getting a lot of suggestions on the forums about various settings and tricks to get some more performance out of the sim.Lots of people try these tweaks, of course, and a lot of times they report some success, but how often is this percieved improvement just wishful thinking .... and how many times will these tweaks actually end up worsening performance or reducing the visual quality for no good purpose?I've found it very helpul to set-up a benchmarking process that allows me to make a tweak, and then view the result in a purely objective fashion. Here's how to do it...* Download and install fraps …

Is this option a result of your video card or monitor?I have a 9700pro and a Sony monitor, seems like I can only select 16 bit for 1600 res in flight sim. 32 bit is not listed.

Hi everyone...I'm having a great time with FS2k4, just with a minor problem... clouds. They really kill my framerates.... and so I thought of upgrading my Ti4200 and replace it for a Radeon 9800 Pro 256 MB.Do you guys think it will help the performance inside the clouds?Whenever I set an overcast layer, my fps go down to around 10, which is bad and doesn't give a smooth sim. I've tried reducing the cloud sliders, and it helps, but then the overcast isn't an overcast anymore.Should the Radeon help me with that?System specs as follows:Pentium 4 2.4 GHz512 MB RAM DDR 266 MHzGeForce 4 Ti4200 128 MBThanks for your help guys___________________________________________________ Lu

I eagerly ran out and bought my copy of FS 2004 yesterday and within the last 24 hours I've run into a BUNCH of problems.I have YET to be able to sucessfully complete an IFR flight. I attempted to fly IFR from Seattle WA to San Francisco CA and after setting up the flight and getting IFR clearance, FS2004 never listed the command to request takeoff, essentially voiding the flight. On another IFR flight from LAX (Los Angeles) to Las Vegas, McCarrin International, FS2004 directed me to turn WEST (over the ocean) and never gave me any other vectors!!!!!!!!I've also had freezes and crashes. My advice... WAIT until these issues are addressed.

OK, not sure if this is a time issue or location issue, or just what. I just did a flight in the Lear from Quebec City (CYQB) to Kitchener (CYKF), Canada. The flight started at 19:30 EDT (23:30 GMT). I went direct Ottawa VORTAC (YOW), direct Simcoe (YSO), direct Kitchener (YKF) at FL350. I had a beautiful sunset going as I passed north of Montreal and was heading towards Ottawa. All of a sudden, my screen went blank, then the textures/scenery were all read in again just as it does when you are first loading up the sim (after you've selected your flight and all, and you see the progress bar advance as it loads), then it came back up - night! A starry sky, no sign of …

I searched the Avsim files for this livery but did not find it.This is a very cool scheme. The real aircraft is a 747-230F/SCD but I'd like it painted on the Posky 747-400F model. Her registration is D-ABZF. Although I don't know how to repaint textures, this one looks tough to do!Here are some pics...http://www.airliners.net/open.file/321532/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/237686/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/238593/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/252077/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/185326/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/165151/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/116176/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/186157/L/So how 'bout it? :)Thanks …

Has anyone heard anything on whether ATI is updating their drivers for their Radeon Cards to accommodate FS2004. We who chose ATI over NVIDIA the last time we upgraded our computers would really see a wonderful new simulation in all its glory. FS2002 worked quite well. How long do you think it takes for a company like ATI to change their driver for our favorite piece of software? Stan

Hi all!I'm new here and start by throwing in a question I hope I will get lots of answers to...or at least one answer that solves my problem :-)I'm flying the MelJet 777-200ER aircraft and for some reason the taxilights don't lit up the runway when sitting in the cockpit, but the landing lights do. Have tried to find where these lights settings are defined, my thought was that maybe I could "copy" the landing lights routine to the taxi lights routine and then just turn down the brightness a little bit so the taxi lights don't lit up the ground as much as the landing lights do. Both the landing and the taxi lights works perfectly in the standard 777 included in FS2004 with…

In FS2004 if I fly after a few minutes or slew around when I have autogen at dense then the frame rate becomes too slow. These slow downs happen at any autogen setting but at the dense setting it becomes too slow and I have to keep autogen disabled. Didn't happen in FS2002. Weird thing is that once I get the abnormal slow downs, if I go to the menu and increase the autogen setting from dense to extremely dense the frame rate goes up significantly, for example 13 fps to 27 fps. If I go back to dense the frame rate hits my locked 30 fps whereas it was 13 fps before. So why the abnormal slow downs and the increase in performance if I go to the menu and increase the autog…

Hi,It seems that since at least FS2002, there is still something wrong in FS GPSs whatever the bezel they are encased in is, or the development technolgy used. Of course, it is not because of XML this happened. Here are two screenshots to better explain what the problem is as compared to the reference GNS530. Look closely at how the aircraft or the runway are wrongly oriented.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29170.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29171.jpgI've not been able to find a menu setting to change the orientation but would gladly hear about this if it is found.Hope this helps!

I'm hoping to get some feedback from the folks in the community regarding drive usage for Flight Sim. I currently have a 7 Gig installation of FS2002 on my 30 gig drive. I have about 10 Gig free. I just purchased FS2004 and was thinking of installing another drive of 40GIG as well. I would use this as my dedicated FS2004 drive (among other related files). I think I'll keep FS2002 where it is for now but will most likely remove it completely when all my favorite add-on's are available for 2004.I guess my question is if you would dedicate a portion of a new drive for FS. We all know how big our collections can grow..Let me know! Thanks

Before I attempt to download such a gigantic file, I'm wondering how the quality compares with FSGenesis or Faitmain SRTM meshes. Are there a lot of those crosscut hatches and "grilled meat" markings running at right angles that detract from realism or is it free of such aberrations? Thanks.John

Thanks in advance - all sound cuts out at random times when I'm flying. It doesn't seem to be triggered by anything specific (such as changing views), and sound returns if I hit 'Q' (to turn sound off) and then 'Q' again to turn sound back on. I've set dxdiag sound to 'basic', and I've reloaded all drivers (except for my Sidewinder Pro - the driver that came with XP seems to be the most current). Any suggestions? Same thing happened with 2002. P4 2.4GeForce 4200 128Realtek onboard audioSidewinder ProXP Pro.

Just noticed on warp2search that Fujitsu Seimens have posted some new Nvidia drivers which are 45.23 WHQL. According to Warp2Search Nvidia are releasing these same drivers on their website on Monday and Warp2search have compared both the official Nvidia driver that are released on Monday and these drivers from Fujitsu are identical. For more info gotohttp://www.warp2search.net/modules.php?nam...ticle&sid=13705 Would be interesting to see how you get on with them in regards to those AA problems.Craig Kiltie

  25. I'm enjoying exploring the scenery and eye candy in FS9.For VFR flight in the mountains (good scenery), I have a question for anyone with local knowledge of the Appalachians (sp?) in the east of the US. How do the eastern (seaward) and western (inland) aspects of this mountain chain differ? I assume the western aspect is drier- which may or may not show in FS9. I'm wondering more about the topography, and as well any recommended scenic flights in this area?I think the extreme in differences in topography that I have seen (on different aspects of the same mountain range) is the Sierra Nevada. This mountain chain has a very gradual slope on the western side, but a very …
