I currently have a 30 Gig HDD. If I partition it say 15 Gig each, and install FS2004 in the 2nd partition by itself, will this help with FPS in FS2004? Or am just wasting my time here?Also, when FS2004 is installed, all my joystick assignments in FS2002 get wiped out? How can I keep this from happening?Is it happening because when I install FS2004, it installs DX 9 and I'm currently at DX 8. If this is the case, is their a file I can backup somewhere, which contains joystick assignments?Thanks in advance... RJ

I had just finished the Instrument Pilot lesson 4 flight, and was exiting the sim when I got this error message about the flight log. Hello. In checkrides for IFR and above, how does one correct for a mis-track to the required VOR and/or IFR? When I try to turn to intercept and get back on track, she yells at me for not flying the correct VOR/localizer heading. Although not fatal, her displeasure adds to the displeasure basket she's building up and makes for less error later in the flight before she reaches her limit boots me out of the plane (not really!). Let me share my experience. I am using fs2004 since one week now. I've never had any lockup with it. This morning, I installed Rage3d Tweak with default setup. OK a while back I reported that I had what I thought might be a timezone or "clock-striking-midnight" problem in FS9 because it seemed as though the sim hiccupped at 00:00 GMT. I've not been able to reproduce that exact problem again, BUT I do remember having had a similar instance of the sim going reloading all the textures and scenery a couple of times before. It seems that (in VC mode) when doing a lot of panning, and PERHAPS when the wx is in the process of changing (not at all sure about that last point), I get the sim stopping, the textures and scenery reloads (almost like the sim is rebooting), then carries on. The Caravan Amphibian, in Fs 9, bounces on its front wheels severly after a good landing on a runway- sometimes going out of control. I haven't been able to control it from the aircraft config file (contact points), weight distribution or changing AIR files from FS2002. Im out of ideas. Also it seems that taxing on water includes kind of attempt to portray waves by having the plane shake and vibrate at less than take off speeds. Trying the whole default Caravan from FS2002 doesn't work any better. An add-on cessna 140 with floats will skip and hop til it ususally crashes on water, which worked fine in FS2002. The recent popular LAKE 270 add-on works fine.Any one else see…

Anyone try loading Lago's Soundscape in FS2004 yet? I hadn't seen it mentioned in the compatible/not list of addons. I miss that little program and am wondering if it will work.Best,Joel

I just took delivery on the FSD Seneca which has a Prop sychronizer that works, I think. :) What is the correct flight mode to use prop sync? Take off? Climb etc. What are the precautions? Thanks in advance.BobP :)

I have got a GPS Pilot III and the datacable for connection to my PC. I heard that it can take Lat/Long Inputs from external sources and has a 'Simulator' mode which I believe will simulate the moving map with inputs or parameters you give. Wondering if anyone else has done this or knows how this can be linked to Flight Simulator for it's input? Cheers. Jon.

So far everything seems to work reasonably well for me after doing the following:1. Installed the FS2000 version into FS2004. (Don't just copy and be sure that you include the FS2000 patch).2. Replaced the aircraft.cfg and air files with the FS2004 default files. Note that the aircraft would not get off the runway on takeoff with the original. The text (name) of the airfile must be edited to be the same as that of the original FS2000. Also edit the first part of the cfg. file to identify your aircraft.3. After receiving my copy of FS9 (2 day to ship around the world, then 5 days in customs), I've spent about 2 days tweaking.All I can say is this is a vast improvement over FS2002. I added MyTraffic 2004, and it works great (amazing to go to small countries and to see flag airlines doing their thing).FSMETEO is also up and running, a coupled with the new whether system is sweet. I installed 2004 to my brother's brand new Athlon 3200+, Radeon 9700, 1GB DDR machine and I've been messing around with it for the past hour or so. (Got my wisdom teeth pulled this morning - nothing better to do ;) ) This is a COMPLETELY different sim when it's running on cutting edge hardware. I'm totally stunned by how good it looks and I thought I had it looking pretty good on my 1.4, GF3 system.I've got it locked at 20FPS, nearly every slider full right (visibility and cloud draw distance are the only two that aren't maxed I think), 1280X1024X32 4X AA, 8X AF and it's pretty much pinning at 20 the whole time. Hi. I have recently found that in order to get the most out of FS, I need better tools for navigation. The default FS map combined with a school atlas just doesn't cut it anymore :-lolThere are many beautiful places that I want to explore in FS, but relying on the GPS map doesn't feel very realistic, and the GPS map isn't really detailed enough either. It doesn't show towns or cities, roads etc., plus it gives away the position of the plane which ruins the fun with navigation. Edited for spelling:Has anyone used 3D sero with FS9, and got it working with the virtual cockpits? Stero works well in everything except the virtual cockpits. The 2D cockpit works, the cockpit is plastered against the screen like it was in FS2k2, tower view and spot view works well in 3D stero, but I canot for the live of me get the virtual cockpits to look right. Hi,Is there a WHQL certified driver for the FX series video cards that will display the instrument panel in FS9? I have a 23 inch digital display, that has fits when I try to make it run on the 45.xx series drivers. I get the panel in flight sim OK, but I lose one inch from the right side of the monitor. The strange thing is that my 19" Sony crt works fine. I talked to the digital display manufacture today, and he is pulling his hair out with calls from folks with the same problem as me with FS9. My set up is 3 video cards in the same computer. Works great under FS2002. Been running it like that since fs2002 was released. As soon as I installed FS2004, bang, problems. Here is my issue with Fs2004. If undock anything and drag it to one of the other monitors, Fs2004 will start a routine of pausing, at the same time I will get a noise from my speaker, then the sim will continue. This routine of pauses and stops repeats at about 10 second intervals. I have the latest Nvidia driver. I would "assume" that the driver is not the issue...Fs2002 works, FS2004 has problem. I

I am very satisfied with the way FS2004 looks now. Performance is great and visuals are stunning with various tweaks (thanks to various folks here on that one!). But I remain frustrated with one item: I'd like more AI traffic, but can't seem to get it without damaging fluidity significantly.Since killing off FSAA and going to 1600x1200 res, performance is miles better. With all sliders set to full right or about 3/4 right, I get a steady 22 fps (my cap) at KLAX on takeoff; AI traffic is set to 50%. Didnt know if anyone has had issues with the gear randomly extending during flight. Just kinda does this after takeoff about 10 mins and cycles about 10 times. Its just more of a nuisance than anything, thats reall the only issue. As far as addons, #####? I tried using the Project Fokker a/c and panel since there is an updated cfg out for it. Well the plane loads fine aside from the annoying FS9 errors. However when you get to the panel and try to click something, thats the end of it. Anyone else try this combo with luck? Its the same thing with most other 02 panels, something with xml? WE NEED NEW PANELS ASAP.........Max

Need help deleting fs2002 from my system. I have tried to delete it using fs2002 menu, from within fs2002 startup screen, and from the control pannel menu add/remove key. All that happens is a message 'initializing unistall' comes on screen then nothing happens. I need the hard-disk space and will not be using fs2002 after using fs2004. What am I not doing correctly? What utility do you use for the 44 and 45 series drivers? The options in the Display>Settings>Advanced window are next to nothing. The RivaTuner comes up with a window saying it is outdated. I have had the impression from other posts that there is some other tool for setting tweaks. Can anybody enlighten me on this?Thanks:RTH
