Just wondering if the two most recent file uploads of this great little utility are any different from the one I downloaded and have been using for the last couple of weeks? Seems like the new versions don't reference an earlier version before this week, but I know I downloaded it fromn AVSIM and have been enjoying it since...Just want to know if there have been improvements I should get:-)Best,Joel

Hello again,Now I have got my takeoff's better, can I ask about the headings, as when flying and ATC say's turn right heading 340 (for example) I end up calling up the map and looking for the line of my flight path and then turn towards it, I know I'm not doing this correctly as I don't suppose any of you do this but can some-one tell me how I can tell when in the cockpit view which way I am heading and if I can see the numbers etc......I find the instruments very tough to understand and even when Rod is teaching me I get lost with all the explanations lolHope some-one knowsMany thanks in advance!Eyelevel ;)

Hi again!Does anyone know how I can get the necessary Nav Aids into FS9 so I can fly the 13IGS approach into the old Hong Kong International (VHHX)? Also, is there any good freeware for FS9 to give the checkerboard on this approach?Regards,Paul Mallows...

Hello,I understand that landclass tiles used by Flight Simulator are around 1km large. I was therefore wondering what happens if an area of 1km contains, for example, buildings, woodland and water. Does the tile take the major type (house, wood or water) and apply that to the whole tile or can it split the 1km tile into smaller components?Victor

Hi everyoneI'm experiencing a problem with fs2002 autopilot, it does not capture glideslope, it capture the loc and disable the heading mode but reaching the glideslope (from below) it continues to keep tha alt mode on and it does not capture the glide. Did a search on the forum and find many post confirming this bug, but still can't find a fix.How can this be fixed? Is there a patch? Or may be I can download an aircraft that fixes this bug?thanks

HiI know this is not MSFS related but it is as I'm using the addon in FS9.Does that make sense, It is the end of a really long week here in work.I bought this utility online the other night just about getting to grips with it.One ? though.Why is it I can still fly planes in FS9 even though they are supposed to be in the hanger and not available.Wycliffe

Last night while flying into KSDF I pulled in the Wx from Serverinfo (flying using VATSIM weather). Weather indicated 3/4 NM of visability and snow. When I was on approach I was able to see the runway from 8 NM and their was no snow at all. I then tried to use Active Sky...same indicated weather and same result on the screen.Any ideas why this is happening....I am using FS9. I have the clouds set up per the optimization guides on this forum.Mark.

Is anyone else having this problem in FS2004?Im flying along hunky dory in the chopper when all of a suddenit starts yawing wildly... Im talking airspeed dropping up and down, spinning, spinning, spinning...Sometimes it evens out, sometimes it augers intot he ground.Im using the Saitek X-45 controller and throttle.I think I saw it in the forum somewhere, but I cant find it.When it crashes and then resets, it seems OK.Any ideas what it may be??Ive reinstalled the Saitex drivers for WinXP andrecalibrated.Thanks in advanceJohn W

Sometimes when I perform an autostart on a 2 engine aircraft, engine throttle #2 will NOT move when I move my yoke throttle. Only throttle #1 moves. Hitting E1 and E2 on the keyboard will also not always fix the problem. I always have to load a different aircraft and then reload my current aircraft which is very frustrating. Besides always doing a manual start, is there anyway to fix this problem without having to reload another aircraft?ThanxAirbus

I downloaded and installed a Beech 1900 turboprop from the File Library. It seemed to install fine, but....... When I first tried to fly with it, It opened fine, except that the cockpit panel was my regular default RealAir Cessna panel background, but with no gauges in it. Oh well, I thought, bug in the aircraft, never mind.I opened my Cessna to go do some 'circuits and bumps', and wow... no gauges. I closed that, and opened the default MSFS Cessna - RealAir panel, no gauges. Closed that and opened the default 737 - RealAir Cessna panel, no gauges. Uninstalled the Beech completely, still, every plane opens with the same panel, and with no gauges. Anyone know how to fix t…

I'm not trying to start a fight here, but I'm not sure where I stand on this issue. I've noticed over on Ebay that there have been some flight sim add-ons and some freeware for sale in their listings, and I was under the impression that you couldn't sell your addon aircraft etc. becuase it would be like sharing your pin#. I don't know, what do you think?I'm just curious, don't go flaming me or anyone over this one.

Just curious as to how many flight simmers use avsim. If you didn't know the downloads were available--scenery, aircraft, etc. etc.--you prolly wouldn't miss them. But what about all the tweaks and improvements?, some of which I think are critical. Must be a large percentage of people just fly it right out of the box...But then again, they prolly spend a lot more time flying. I spend half my time twinking or adding and removing stuff. :-)billg

Hi All,I've noticed in certain aircraft downloads, that when you activate the Autopilot, the pitch trim starts to automatically travel around. (This is only some aircraft mind,) This can sometimes have the effect of pitching the nose up way to early on a takeoff, (E.G. when wanting to use the AP auto throttle & LVL)Personally i prefer to manage the trim manually. Does anyone know what params in the air file or cfg file, need to be switched 'off' to stop this annoying problem?TaAl.

Hello all,I hope someone here can assist me to get through this annoying problem I have.I have a Saitek Cyborg Evo and when any aircraft goes down the runway to takeoff, the aircraft veer left/right and although my stick has a twist action I hate using it, as I still end up making matters worse! lolThis however does not happen everytime I play the Sim (MSFS 2004 btw)Sometimes the aircraft takeoff fine other times they don't, this happens with all aircraft!I hope some-one can help me pleaseMany thanks in advanceEyelevel ;)

i just got my new saitex x45 stick and throttle an i'm so amazed. Now that my old logitech attack 2 is relegated to my attic i actually feel for the first time in flight sim the feeling that i'm actualy at the controls of a plane.Would highly recomend this stick to anyone on a budget as you can pick them up pretty cheap some places. I get quite reasonable framerates on my machine -- I seem to be able to even max out my autogen or clouds or AI without too many problems -- well, maybe not all together!! :)BUT -- the BIGGEST FPS killer seems to me to be those downtown buildings in certain areas. I must do some more experimenting with this. I remember in FS2002 that whenever I downloaded an addon non-GMAX designed airport scenery addon , they all seemed to kill FPS -- but Gmax designed airports were kinder.Any thoughts?Thanks Barry
