I just installed the new version of the ATR 72-500 by Francisco Sanchez-Castaner and it seems to solve almost all of the problems of that there were with the panel in FS2004.I do have two dificulties though... (1) The needle on the flap gauge appears misplaced.(2) The HSI seems mis-sized and is positioned in front of the main panel graphic. The attached .jpg shows the problems. Any thoughts welcomed!!!ThanksJohn

I'm having a peculiar problem off late. Please help. At certian points in mid air the aircraft texture goes blank-the brown textureless stuff, and so does the ground texture and fs9 give that dreaded error message "flight simulator encountered error and needs to restart blah blah" On the error report i find that a module called fe.dll is noted as problematic. Can anybody please help me? Initially everything is fine only when I reach particular points/location in mid air this happens and so far I have observed them only in US. Awaiting a solution.

  5. Hi All,As many of you already know, I've been bit hard by the painting bug :-) Part of being a newbie to the painting "profession" is the time you have to invest learning the tricks of the trade and the time to search out resources to help you along your path.Born is FS Parts Exchange! The concept behind FS Parts Exchange is to have a centralized site where painters, design groups and texture artists can share knowledge, tips, tricks and...well...parts! If you're a designer with parts (textures) you would like to share with the rest of the painters out there, we will assume the role of agent on your behalf. You grant us permission to distribute your parts and in turn, …

Sorry if this is inappropriate to the forum, and no, I am in no way, shape or form related to PMDG, but if you haven't seen them, you need to check them out. Go to the Precision Manuals website and click on the 1900 project. Even if you are not a fan of PMDG or the 1900, you have to admit that the exterior visuals in the wallpapers are absolutely amazing.

I've been through all the countless "tweaks" for liberating resources for Flight Simulator. I had to, as my hardware is hardly state-of the-art.I recently came across a tip on this forum and thought I'd lose nothing by trying it out.Apologies for those who already use this procedure.Have a look on http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;331796You may have to copy and paste this link to get it to work.I tried it on Windows ME and the effect was nothing less than dramatic.Stutters are gone and fluidity is much improved. Scenery and aircraft textures now load in much faster and frame rates average 30 fps (previously 15-20).I decided to put the tweak through its…

Hello! After messing a little bit with the hardware acceleration when using two monitors I discovered something else related to getting windows over to the second monitor. You don't need to go to windowed mode to get other windows like the radio stack or GPS on the second monitor. This saves some time....1) Just drag the window, say the GPS for example, half way of the screen on the first monitor towards your second monitor.2) Next, do this for any other windows that you want to get over to the second monitor.3) Now just use your hat switch or view keys to look around the cockpit, say to the left out of the pilot window and then release the hat switch or keys so that you are…

I had just loaded the new (Beta Test) Thunderstorm Weather Scape into FS9. And this is what I saw. Needless to say I was bumped around a lot. FS9 can create some awesome clouds features.

i read a somewher about the thunderbird f-16 near crash in october of this year or last, and the mistake happend because the pilot didnt zero out his altimeter. but wouldnt that make it worse beacuse the airfeld was most likely not at 0 feet and if the altimeter showed 5000 ft it could of been only 1500 above? so could someone please explain why they would zero out their altimeters. and they also said that it would be easier to calculate they above alt. with the altimeter at 0 rather than set to the airfield alt. and whats the dif between MSL and actual Alt.? and one last thing, is the AGL the same as actual alt.? thanks alot. heres the link to the thread at fsnetwork, ht…

Does anyone else purchase Computer Pilot Magazine at the newstand? Did your copy include the January 2004 CD or the December copy? The magazine finally made it to the bookshelves here in Phoenix only this past weekend and when I got home last night, inserted the CD and thought it looked all to familiar. My copy had the December CD inserted by mistake.I just wanted to see it this was an isolated problem or did this happen in other places across the country.ThanksBob

  18. ....put in a DIRECT TO waypoint and fly there with a flightplan that is currently loaded and active without wiping out that flightplan? I did three attempts at loading DIRECT TO waypoints today and the a/c obeyed as instructed but I was subsequently unable to find my existing flightplan in the Garmin. It seemed to have vanished. Only the DIRECT TO waypoint remained.I am also trying to figure out how to undo or delete a DIRECT TO instruction if I change my mind. The mysteries of the GARMIN are many and always challenging !Appreciate posts, thanks!JS

  21. Sometime when I use FS9 the simulator is really slow, but Win XP task manager shows 50% of CPU cycles allocated to the system idle process. I'm thinking that, if more CPU cycles could be allocated to FS9 then the sim would be more fluid, with higher frame rates. Any ideas about how to control the allocation of CPU cycles to different programs in Win XP? Many thanks, Rudi

In FS2k2, I could see other aircraft while flying online a significant distance away. In FS9, I can't see other aircraft unless they are within a 13 mile radius. In the FS9.cfg file, within the section for Muliplayer, there are two possible lines that could be the one I need to tweek in order to extend the 13 mile radius. The two lines are:max_segment_size=100ordistance-display=0Maybe neither of these lines are what I need. Anyway, I've never messed with the cfg file except to increase the panning view speed.Does anyone have any knowedge regarding this matter. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

HiI've always been upset by circular objects e.g. panel gauges often not appearing circular and, because I had not thought it thro' clearly I put it down to using a non 4:3 (1.333:1) ratio resolution eg 1280x1024 which is 1.25:1.In actual fact this of course is only the PIXEL ratio which causes the image on a 1.333:1 tube to have better vertical resolution than horizontal thus giving horizontal objects better definition than vertical ones but having no effect on the image ratio. On further consideration I realised that the image ratio full screen was very different from the window image as usually encountered, this being vertically reduced by the title bar plus the menu ba…

I remember downloading a AN-24, atleast I think it was a AN-24, that had a working cargodoor in the back. It looked very much like the one in the library, but it doesn't have a cargodoor, as far as I can see. Where can I get this model?Regards/Mikkel
