With FS9 you can only see other online player names when there within 12nm! Why is that?Can you extend it at all? In fs2002 it was lot's further then 12nm.Pete

No, I didn't go to Mars. ;)I recreated Lucky Lindy's solo flight from New York to Paris. I saved the flight 20 different times to be able to fly it. It was quite an experience. At one time I got down to 20 feet agl. Highest altitude was 9,800 feet (when the thunderstorm came).I've seen the Spirit, hanging in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington. But I had no idea how difficult it was to fly it. Bank too steep and you'll go into a steep dive. I almost went into the drink once! I installed Ultimate traffic about 1 week ago, but i had to uninstall/reinstall flight simulator because of some sound error that made corrupt sound come out when i changed view, i uninstalled and it stuffed windows up for some reason, i had to do a repair, i then reinstalled flight simulator and ultimate traffic plus some addon scenery for klax and some australian scenery, when i loaded up the game i got this (view attachment), any help would be great

Hi,well, it's out, the -10 is and I must say I am impressed with what the guys have done. After a quick pattern around my home town airport I have that warm fuzzy feeling. What a great lil' aircraft! :)Visually it is great, all the little details are there including service vehicle(s). The flight model seems to be great also. I have a couple of questions.I currently have a P4 2.5 GHZ w 768 MB RAM w/ TI 4200 w/ 128 MB RAM. Motherboard is the Intel D845GBV, which has been a solid performer. Right now with Meridian and / or other complex panels, I drop to 13 FPS, which to me is on the stuttering boarderline.What is the best upgrade path?(1) New Faster Video Card (See Below)?(2) New Motherboard and Processor, more and faster memory. What about Hyperthreading and FS 2004, etc?(3) Faster and More Memory (PC 2100 currently) Will one GIG or 1.5 GB drastically improve performance.What about video card? Hi Everyone:)I was flying Flight Sim using my USB Yoke Joy Stick and when I touched one of the buttons on the Joystick I received an electric shock due to the static electricity which is not uncommon due to the cold winter.My yoke became useless and the joystick kept panning the cockpit without touching any of the yoke buttons.I then shutdown from the flightsim and rebooted up and got the same results.Tried calibrating the joystick and notice that on the calibration page three of the buttons appear to be activated and the hat switch will not move when imputing a command.Appears that the Static Electricity has caused a malfunction with the Joy Stick.Any assistance would be…

Flight Sim 2004 installed a DirectX version 9 on our computer. We have a significant number of other older applications that run fine in Windows XP but aren't tolerating DirectX9. As long as we're DX 8.0b or lower they're fine but the moment we install FS9, all chaos breaks loose with several of those older apps. FS9 runs okay but the others get hosed up. These other apps run fine under XP with FS2002, so I've concluded the cause is DX.My first inclination was a dual boot partition. Before I do that, a couple of questions for someone who knows this kind of stuff...First, is a dual boot the right answer? Or can I set up a different DirectX profile that loads 8.0 unde…

Hi everyone. I have been flying MS Flight sims for years, but am new to the boards here. I am having a bit of trouble, and am wondering if somebody may be able to help me out. I *just* brought home FS2004. I installed, and think it's great. One problem though: My kneeboard checklists, learning center, and ANYTHING that has a scroll bar on the right side doesn't work when I try to scroll up and down. When I try, I can see a bit of text movement at the bottom and top of the window, but that's it. It's kinda annoying because I want to view the kneeboard Checklist page so that I can go through the checklists. I never had this problem with FS2002.Anybody have any idea…

I live nowhere near an ocean, so bare with me if it doesn't look perfect.I'm using the standard water textures, and have only modified the reflection maps. Hi,I had a lot of stutters on my system. Finally I did find the main reason. I did use planes which are patched FS2K2 planes using FSSOUND.DLL.After having read almost all threads concerned with stutters, tweaked in every way my ASUS A7N8X-X AMD 512M GEFORCE 5600 XT 128 MEG on a computer only dedicated to FS9 Outside view ( almost all WIN2K Service off) I lost hope and did make a tour with the standard Learjet.Everything was as smooth as it can. No stutter at all and a steady 25 FPS, on the same route I made just before with the Aerosoft ATR42 with severals stutters and a freeware Short 360 which sounds are to the ATR 42 folderThe ATR 42 is a FS2002 plane patched for FS9 …

Hi. I'm just getting ready to install FS9 on my new computer. I was wondering what are the reasons for installing FSUIPC. Is it necessary to help the basic sim run better or only needed for certain addons?Thanks for your help.

How do I get the cabin lights and logo lights to come on when you switch on the taxi light or the nav lights instead of the landing lights? I have 3 planes that are set up so the cabin and logo lights come on when the landing lights are on and I would like to change that.

Is there a way to get around the need for having disk 4 in the drive before running FS9. There was a patch for FS6. Is there one on the street for FS9?
