Is there a way to tweak FS9.CFG to get the landing lights to be visible from inside the aircraft??They lights work ok in VC mode and from outside the plane.But I never use VC mode.Any tips???737 in the dark till then.Kind regardsJames

usually about 10 seconds after I exit FS9, I get Windows pop-up message telling me that Weather.dll has a serious problem and if I would like to report it to Microsoft. This only happens when I exit FS9, never when I'm in it flying around.What would cause this to happen? Anyone have a spare Weather.dll they could send me? (I think I would have to dig around in the cab files to find another one.)ThanksPieter

I purchased FSHotseat a couple of months ago and think it's fantastic. Probably my all time best buy for FS to date. The AI sound is just so good. Just got myself a new laptop and installed FS and all my utils and extras. Got in contact with the FSHotseat guys and they say I need to buy it again for the laptop !! Not cheap. Every other 3rd party delveloper was great. No problem. Just install it on the desktp and the laptop. Not really impressed with this. What does everone think ?

Here I go again with another post. Question: Has anyone attempted to or accomplished a re-sizing of downtown building's textures so that the frame rate hit would be lessened. I've got all the great texture resizers, and I love every one of them. Chris Willis is my personal patron saint for this area. But I haven't seen an improvement for the skyscrapers and such. I only notice it because even in Oklahoma City and Tulsa (OK) you get a frame rate hit from the generic skyscrapers. Anyone?:-beerchug

Hi all,I am in the middle of an upgarde of my system. As first step I added a second monitor. While making the change I found out that oposite to my expectations the frame rate did not drop after installing the second monitor, but actually IMPROVED by about 30%.The new setup is as follows;Monitor #1 - 19", is connected to the motherboard.Monitor #2 - 17", is connected to the video card.The 19" monitor is for VC views - operated with Active Camera.The 17" monitor is for the panel (guages), GPS, radio stack, etc.I asked a number of my hobby pals how they explain this paradox. Is there a fix which will make the AI strobe lights in FS2004 blink at random like they did in FS2002? Currently, my AI strobe lights blink at the exact same time in FS2004.

Anyone got an alternate .air file for Captain Sim's 727? I don't like the big lift you get from the flaps and such. So does anyone have one that they would be willing to share with me? Public or otherwise?

I would like to update my ATI driver to 4.1. ATI website says W2000 SP4 is required. However, I have read some problems with SP4.Does anyone know if SP4 is essential?Thanks for you response.

I set up my new machine last night, installed FS9, fired up a Cessna 172 on the tarmac at Sea-Tac and had no panel. The area where the panel is supposed to be is black, but upon "mouse-over" I get the pop-up text and ability to click on panel controls but I can't see them. If I change to virtual cockpit everything is OK. Same with the Baron. I tried a 737 and had a panel. Hi,I have been trying to obtain a copy of the file Flts/Other/FltSim.Fltwhich I have lost and, therefore cannot use the default flight anymore. I am told it is on disk 1 of the CD but cannot find it.Can anyone give me chapter and verse how I can obtain this lostfile from the cd. Thought possibly the following which I put on the SimFlyers forum might be of use for somebody.Common knowledge concerning SimFlyer airports is that for some reason, many runway approaches default to ILS backcourse implmentation wihtout glideslope. This is somewhat of a pain for a surprise discovery after flying for two hours especially on a VatSim flightplan.The following, if the forum format will allow such a thing are spreadsheets defining the approach provisions from FlightSim for all of the runways for airports with the exception of the Italian locations (Sorry, but I do not have those two airports yet.) Hi,I have held off of installing the SP1 for XP for ages because of the horror stories I have read regarding poor performance whilst using the SP.Last night I went for it and stuck it on, and I was amazed to see that my performance in FS had actually increased, I now get no "white" texture squares when changing to spot view.Why would I get better performance whilst others see a decrease in performance with SP1?.CheersDan.

Hi Simmers,Just to inform you that the new version of WideView has been released.The program gives the possiblity to have multiple views on (as much as you want) networked computers all running FS2004.The program is a complete rework. In previous versions it worked by a dll file in the modules map. "Hi all",I prefer to change to VC view, especially when flying "heavies". I would like to brighten the lighting & sharpen the readouts as well. Is there a kind soul out there that can tell me how to do this, or point me in the right direction ?I`ve had a look at the panel.cfg & noticed something like [vcockpit] "pixel_size=512,512", also in the "Effects" folder a file called "fx_vclight.fx" & has colour settings ??? Hi, I downloaded the taxi speed program to change the speed the ai taxi at. But it says Run-time error '76' Path not found. It use to work for me but now it doesn't. I have tried downloading it again but the same thing. Is there a way to change the taxi speed for ai without it? Or does anyone know why it is not working? Cheers!

Hi SimmersCould I get some votes for the best addon trees that work in fs9, I am still using the defaults. Tried several others in 2002, do they work? Would like to see if I can get the autumn colors a bit more realistic.Thanks for any help.

For the most part, I have FS9 pretty much tweaked as best as I can for my system. I have a P4 with 1 gig ram and a 128 meg NVIDIA Ti-4600G card. I am averaging about 15-20 fps all around with high singles on approaches and landings. The real annoying thing is that while in flight with the good 15-20 fps, I often get pauses of a split second or so, usually while in turns. Then everything is fine. Is there any way to tweak a little further to eliminate these pauses?? Thanks. Regards, Tom

My PC has got fairly low spec graphics, ATi Radeon 7000 onboard using 128Mb of system memory.Despite this, FS9 has been installed as has DirectX 9. (Well, I think DirectX 9 has been installed, it's impossible to tell!) FS9 works credibly well, enough to keep me happy anyway.However, the Water Textures do not display properly, i.e. they are static textures with no reflections or animation.Apart from getting a new graphics card (which is a consideration) can anyone suggest anything? Also, can anyone recommend replacement textures that might improve the appearance? I have a situation of improved terrain/autogen etc, but water which harks back to FS2000!!!Also, because th…

I have it set for BAC with the middle as monitor #1. The center monitor is a 21" and A is 17", B is 19"When I load Flight Simulator 2004, the A & C monitors got to black and stay unabled while in the program. Like a fool I replaced my default FS2004 737-400 lighting fx file and the lighting section in the aircraft cfg file with a 3rd party modification for same without backing up.I wish to go back to default, if some kind soul would email me the following it would be much appreciated.For FS2004 Default 737.400fx_vclighth.fx (in effects folder)Lighting section (in aircraft cfg)CheersPete :)

There is also a fix for the gauges.This plane could be payware, it is absolutely beautiful in appearance as well as to fly.They are still missing the light effects and most likely will upload them. I just edited the aircraft.cfg in the {LIGHTS} section. Change the dr_ to fx_ in front of each light.If this plane has been given a heads up earlier I missed it. It deserves another anyway.Ken
