FSAutoStart v1.0 Build 3 now available

I assume you are on DSL or cable modem...if not, then there are quite a few you need to support dial-iup.For me (using comcast) all I need to to keep the dns server running. I have a router here at home, so I don't connect directly to the cable modem. Your mileage may vary. There are other services that *may* be required by your ISP.The next build will have a new help system integrated to give you the user as much information about the services on your system as possible. It is amazing on a XP system how many services you can disable...

Tell me about it!! Spent the last while switching off services that "looks as if I don't need that one" and then backtracking to find which one I "shouldn't have done that" LOL.Yep, on broadband through a router...not long got the broadband, should have got it sooner heh heh!!Look forward to the next build...good stuff!Ian EGPF :-wave

This is one of those small pieces of code that we all waited for.I'm a programmer, but lazy as I am, I was doing this manually for every FS start.Got a little worried when I noticed the backward behavior in the first build, but seems to be fixed in this version. Thanks from SwedenLago

Hello.Really good job ! I tryed version 2 which worked ok, then uninstalled and install version 3. I get the following error: Could not create process path ........ (the location of fs9.exe).I tryed to run the appl without any services or prgrs stopped or stopped and start. The same error ocuurs again.Any idea ?have a nice day, nikolas

Verify the path to your flight simulator is correct. There should be an error code also, what is it? If it is error code 2, that means it couldn't find the fs9 executable.

BTW, if anyone with Windows 9x/ME would like to try out the latest build for testing, please PM or email me.I would like to have a couple of people using thos OSs to try it out before I release it.Thanks,

Great program, but how do you know which programs and services to shut down? Could someone give an example of which one they close?ThanksRay

Ken,You've got mail.

Hello, thanks for helping. The path is correct. The error code is 193. Sorry not to mention it before. Thanks once more, have a nice eveningnikolas/athens

193 = not a valid Win32 application. ERROR_BAD_EXE_FORMAT Are you sure about your path?

ken any way of putting cpu priority in there with the programs for us guys with hyperthreading i like to run my fs9 on one processor and my weather program on the othershane

Does the OS not automatically do this for you? I'll check into it...

i use IMAGECFG once i set the exe file it says but would be nice to play with :)

Absolutely Ken. The first i checked out. I searched the registry as well under the description fsautostart - nothing that could cause problem. I am thinking to uninstall fsautostart 1/3 delete everything that has left in the registry and windows (if any) and install it again. What's yr opinion? Any other solution?

Well, i did that. Uninstall remove everything left back (windows folder and registry) install it back. It doesn't work. The same problem. Also, i check for viruses/trojans - everything is fine.I use original fs9.exe (not the no cd version - if the problem could be located there). I tryed to run fs9 through the add program field (at the configure tab - a kind of trik i thought !) does not work also. Any idea welcomed.Have a nice day, nikolas
