Evening all...I happened to stumble across this todayhttp://www.visualflight.co.uk/scotflight/freeware.htmIt's Iain Gallacher's new FS2004 version of his Edinburgh airport scenery (compatible with the payware Scotflight scenery, but it stands alone as well). He doesn't want it uploaded to any other sim sites, so follow the link above if it's something you want.Rob

Good day,Just wanted to know if someone can help on the following:a) FS9.cfg fileDoes someone know what those lines mean in fs9.cfg:(Graphic)Performance_mode=0Def_Pref_mode=5Auto_lod= 0Do is relate to the graphic card ?and also this one in the same chapter:Lod_Target_fps=28What difference between this one and the upper framerate limit=40 (which represent the fps currently settled in the hardware setting)?:( Ground speedMany add-on JET aircraft (am not talking about props here) seem to increase speed, sometime far too much, while rolling on the ground when taxiing, without any throttle intervention.Does someone knows a way to reduce or keep current ground speed when thrott…

Hi All,Been a while since I logged on and seeing another Wizz Air A320 paint, I chanced a look at it. Good thing I did!! Good old Joe (Teply) must have spent 2 minutes doing his version using my textures. Basically, all he did was change the reg number on the rear of the aircraft. Photoreal tail, windows and front fuse textures are all mine. Funny thing, I never recieved a polite e-mail from him asking if he could use my textures. I tried finding Joe's e-mail address to mail him but all his repaints do not include a contact e-mail. Pitty..SHAME ON YOU JOE!!...shame, shame, shame....I hope Avsim will come through and remove the file. Thanks Joe!Mike - The original WizzAir r…

Hello,Just a simple question. Is there any software (preferrably free) to create .pln (default FS2004) flight plan files professional way? I mean that I want to put in flightplans with airways for example and then it writes the intersections to the file so I can load the flight to the GPS in FS and it flies the route correctly. Default FS planner is bad, because the only way to create preferred flightplan is to drag the points together all the way to the end...Thanks!

Followup to post # 193602:Please excuse the spelling errors in the 193602 post, as shown below:Subject: "Langin/Taxi lights in DHC6,Canadian Coast Guard Twin Oter"Should have read: "Landing/Taxi lights in DHC6, Canadian Coast Guard Twin Otter"-----------------------------------This post now finds the same problem with 3 other aircraft, QantasDash8 Q-300, Horizon Air Q-300, and the Dash8-100...........no landing/taxi lights!I am at a loss to find out why. I would seriously appreciate any help, comments etc from other simmers.I'm working on flying experience, with the hope of signing on witha virtual airline soon. But this is not a good way to start.Replies appreciated.Than…

When flying the 1900 with hotseat I'm having a problem with the initial cruising altitude. It says the aircraft does not have the climb performance to reach crusing altitude unless I set a value of 1000 feet or so.Any fixes ?Cheers

Hi, I had a problem last weekend. The computer had a problem with thunderstorm and one file was corrupted. I decide to make format C: and then everything worked. However I installed FS 2004 and I got this message: YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO INSTALL NEW FILES ON THIS COMPUTER. PLEASE HAVE AN ADMINISTRATOR LOG ON TO COMPLETE THE INSTALATION. Well, every time I open FS 2004 the message appears. I thought maybe it is coming from some addons, and I decided to uninstall addons. It continues. Then I uninstalled FS itself and reinstalled it again. The message appeared again. Well, I thought maybe was from the windows XP professional, so I did 4 formats one after each other to …

Hi,Since my last post on this subject I have revisited the problem from time to time and now, finally, have a solution.I use CH Flight Sim Yoke and Pro pedals (both USB devices) and have the registered version (3.22) of Pete Dowson's FSUIPC installed.I was finding that every time I went into 'Slew' mode the world started spinning. This could be stopped by either nudging the rudders or by briefly disconnecting and reconnecting the rudder controls. Today, I found that the spinning would occur when the Flight Sim Yoke is the only controller connected, Furthermore, I could control the spinning by movement of the Prop Pitch lever on the yoke. This turns out to be Z-rotation wh…

AVSIM used to run international language forums; that is, German, Italian, French, Chinese, Japanese and others. They were not used, and died due to lack of use and interest. With membership in the forums now in excess of 13,000 folks, many who visit daily, it may be time to reconsider and bring back international forums here. So, what do you think? Should we open up specific language forums?

I recently posted links to some "videos" I made inside of Flight Sim using Game Cam and MS Moviemaker over in the screen shots forum. As there was a bit of interest, I created this little web page with both some sample works as well as where to get the software etc. Enjoy if you have an interest in that kinda thing... :-)Erichttp://www.planeprofiles.com/video.htm

There's been a lot of intense discussions lately on these forums regarding the RFP 747-200 panel. Here's an idea. A lot of simmers like me can't spend the time learning a complete start up and flying product. We just want to load a plane, some real weather, a flight plan and go. Why doesn't RFP do a "lite" version of their product? I'd love to have their panel, but I don't have the extra time to spend on the long learning curve and long setup for each flight. I gave up on SSW for this reason. I spent so much time with my head in the manual trying to get it set up and started, I never got to fly. The guys that want the more complex version can have theirs and some of us ca…

I think this happened last night when installing scenery, probably Netherlands 2000 or maybe Aerosoft Manhattan. Anyway, I noticed that I started getting low hard disk space warnings from XP (~200 MB free on C:). Next time I fired up FS2004, instead of my default flight starting at Heathrow, it listed Latitude/Longitude. Can't find many of the standard airports, only one State (Western Australia) is shown etc.I've since cleaned up the disk and freed a few GB, but I can't get my airports back! Any suggestions apart from a complete reinstall of FS2004?

OK I have a top of the line PC I built for my roomate. Can somebody give me their settings for this in the fs9.cfg file? I've tried many numbers but can't seem to narrow it down to below 200, above 200, above 400, etc. Help!!Thanks!I asked this in the hardware forum but hopefully I'll get more views here too.

I wanted to pass this along from FSD because I didn't know that you should load all aircraft in the 2D panel view first. In my "saved flights" I had the Navajo load in VC view. When I cycled through the views and the 2D panel loaded the AA on the 3D model went to heck. Now I can view the Navajo the way it was meant to viewed. This has been bugging ever since I got the Navajo several weeks ago.********************************************************************Daryll, Thanks for taking the time to write. New registrants need to wait until we process their new login ID and password, and receive that return notice, prior to posting on the forum. This is the only way we can p…

It was with great sadness that I read that Ralph Tofflemire's "Ready For Pushback" is not going to be developed much further, and that Ralph has had a belly-full of developing addon's for Flight Simulator. It doesn't take long to figure out why he takes this attitude...There seems to be the perception amongst the FS community that the major payware creators are making a fortune. Therefore they are supposed to be able to take abuse "on the chin". Well, as an exercise in costing, let's look at some (thumbsuck) numbers...(NOTE: I have no inside information at all - all these figures are just reasonable guesses)Development time for creating an aircraft payware add-on of the ca…
