I have a problem trying to get the HSI and the digital attitude indicator to turn on?I clicked the avionics master switch but it still doesnt come on.Any ideas?Thanks

Hey, guys,I'm just now upgrading to FS9, and I'm considering downloading the FSW Highest Clouds Performance set. How's the quality of these clouds? Hello. I'm wondering if anyone has made an icon button to display on the panel of aircraft that you have installed Lee Hetherington's TCAS II 7.0 gauge.I am trying this out but would like to have a button to click on the panel to bring it up instead of doing the Shift+(Number) method. I can create my own button but I do not know how to get it into the .gau or .cab format to actually be used.If anyone can help me out with maybe one that you have already created that would be great.Thanks very much!

I'm wondering about getting some of Justin's mesh and landclass products. When the executable installs the files, does anyone know how much HD space is required? The .exe files look really large, and I'm sure that there's some compression within them.Thanks for any info,Bruce.

I recently d/l-ed this, and have been trying to get it to work. I've been mostly successful, but I have 1 problem, plus a minor question. I know there have been a couple of earlier threads, but I haven't found them helpful, yet.Alright: the major problem is getting the flaps to deploy. Hydraulics are pressurized (saw that in an earlier thread), and I hear callouts when moving the flaps lever, but the flaps don't extend. I can also select alternate flaps control, and the dial moves, but, again, no extension of the flaps. I've tried changing the hydraulics settings on the OH panel, although as far as I can tell, they are set correctly already, but this doesn't help. Is this…

On closer review, it appears that FSAutostart cannot start FS9 because my CPU is said to be 100% utilized by the Windows Task Manager even when I am doing nothing at all on the PC. This is nuts. I have two startup profiles in Windows XP including a GAMING profile. In regular Windows Profile 1, the CPU is 2% to 5% utilized which is normal on my PC. But in Gaming mode, the CPU usage is now stated as 100% which is totally insane, so it's no wonder that FS9 will not boot using FSAutostart.Can anybody figure this out?Appreciate any help, thanks!JS

I'm thinking of getting the NoCal megascenery (used to live there so will be good to be able to see it realistically).When the first megascenery came out (SoCal, if I'm correct), I recall that computers running XP and using FAT32 had a problem with it. Is it necessary to still use the NTFS format with XP for this product??I upgraded to XP Home from Win98SE and still have FAT32 format. If NTFS is required, any advice on pro's and con's of doing this? I have Partition Magic 7.0 that I could use to convert to NTFS if I decide to do so.Thanks for any help,Bruce.

Hi everyone,Last night I changed my resolution from 1280Xtheothernumberthatgoeshere to 1280X768 or something like that. When I accepted the changes and went back to fly again, I got a black screen (I have a LCD), with "Resolution Not Supported" in big red letters. There was nothing I could do, so I just control-Breaked it.I tried changing the resolution back though the FS9.cfg and FS9.cfg.txt, but that didn't work.Does anyone have any advice how to get the resolution back to a compatable one through a .cfg file, or if there are hotkeys I can use to change the resolution back from within the program (I start out in the create-a-fight screen)?I'm just hoping I won't have …

This is a really incredible plane that I'd love to be able to come to terms with, but all the docs are in Russian. Anyone know of an English version of the manual? Btw, theres an amazing video at fsnordic of this thing taking off and landing. Its 85megs (9:00 long), is very smooth and the guy is using TrackIR2. You'd swear to god you're in the pit of a real plane at times. Very impressive stuff...

Hi, Can anybody tell me if it`s possible (and how)to change the arrival runway in a flight plan being followed by the GPS? I`m using Radar Contact. I got vectors to a runway at Charles de Gaul which was different to the one in my flight plan. It was very confusing because of the number of runways in that area. If I had known how to change the runway in the Garmin, it would have been able to see exactly where I was supposed to be going.Advice would be appreciated.Cheers,David

After using COF for a long time I began to get continuous CTDs. I usually try first to check for new addon's, etc. but nothing worked. One other thing I normally do is to run XP's disk Error-checking tool(scandisk?). However I had not noticed until today that the newest ZoneAlarm update was causing this tool to be blocked and that I was getting a "cannot open volume for direct access..." error when trying to do a disk check. I proceeded to uninstall ZoneAlarm(I suppose you can use msconfig to just shut it down at startup also)and then checked both boxes for disk error-checking. Restarted(it ran the scan normally), and ran COF........no more CTD's since.

Has anyone had the opportunity to use USA Roads and FS Terrain together? I have USA Roads and enjoy the added reference points but the inacuracies in the MS default terrain are beginning to show! ie: Roads in the middle of rivers. I was wondering how well if at all scenery like FS Terrain blended with USA Roads!ThanksTom

I have used FSAutostart 1.0 build 6a for some time now and it's been working superbly. However, today (naturally!), FSAutostart is making a mess: it takes me 8-9 minutes to get into FS9 with FSAutostart instead of 3-4 minutes, and my frames have fallen from 20 to 6 in FS9. Not using FSAutostart is fine: startup time and frames are normal.I am totally baffled as to what's gone wrong and where and why. FSAutostart has been brilliant all the time until today. Should I reinstal it? If I do, will I have to re-set all of the program and application preferences?Appreciate any insights or ideas, suggestions, etc.Thanks!JS

Hi all, is anyone else have a hard time downloading FS stuff from avsim. It just hangs and hangs...sometimes it takes some time, but the last couple nights I have not been able to download anything. Are the serves just really busy right now?Thanks,Bill

Please tell me the steps you use to capture the ILS. Here's what I do, but mine's flawed because my "Altitude Hold" switches off and I get erratic and deadly behavior from the aircraft. 1. I'm in GPS mode (direct to) an airport. 2. I program the runway I want into GPS. 3. I start my descent at proper time. 4. I set "heading" to intercept the ILS, and go from GPS mode to Nav. mode. 5. When I switch on APP. mode, my Altitude Hold goes off and the plane goes into a deadly dive. 6. I have to switch Altitude Hold back on, but then the APP. mode doesn't AUTOMATICALLY switch off Altitude any more.What am I doing wrong procedurally? Ex…

This post is not meant to any way "knock" payware designers -- it is just that I have noticed the ever increasing quality of both payware and freeware designs. It seems to me that the quality and innovation is rising so quickly that it could in fact discourage some otherwise very good designer/builders. I have a son who is a computer programmer by trade -- how he manages to keep up with the advances in computing is beyond me. I don't know of any other trade that requires this -- stand still for more than one minute and you are DEAD -- past history! So what about our Sim a/c designers -- I guess both freeware and payware . Can they/will they keep up with these advancements…

Before you all run out and take the 25$ plunge and buy the new (undoubtably excellent) Aerostar. Just be fully aware about the service and party line you will have to tow just to be allowed to use your new shiny software. I today have reformatted windows because I installed a new motherboard, I went to reinstall my Porter and Panther and the license server rejected the installation. Note "REJECTED" not asked to revalidate the license, but an outright rejection.
