Hi, guys,:-zhelp Does anyone know of a good HUD or HGS system for FS9? I was using the AFG HGS for 2002 and loved it, but it doesn't have a guidance cue in 2k4. It'd be great if someone could update that, but I don't have any clue how to do it. Call me crazy, but I fly all my approaches manually, so this is a very important feature for me.Let me know! Thanks! :7Mike Tucson, AZ"You must be the change you wish to see in the world"--Mahatma Gandhi

Hello I have recently bought a new graphics card: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Atlntis. When I load my flight simulator 2004 I get no sound. Is it to do with the graphics card? The sound works perfect in windows. How do I fix this problem?ThanksWendy02

The A340 is one of my favorite aircraft and Aerodesigns has done a terrific job creating this aircraft. I like the wing flexing but sometimes it doesn't seem quite right. For example, when I load the aircraft at Seattle KSEA the wings and the aircraft seem to "bounce" before it settles down. Even when tsxiing the wings sometimes jump up and down and smoke is visible from the landing gear. On landings the aircraft wings will flex up and down erratically. Is there any way to fix this behavior? Thanks for your help!Airbus

Hello, I've noticed that when I'm flying an approach with larger jets (737, 747, 777, CRJ, etc), even when following approach speeds for that a/c to the T, my angle of attack is waaaay too high. Can't see out the windscreen, and I have a nose up angle of like 15 or 20 degrees. If I bring the nose down so that I can see, I'm dropping like a rock.. Bring up the throttles ot fix that, and I'm going too fast. I've flown the approaches manually, and also with the autopilot on.. The nose is still way too high to keep the right approach speed and stay on the glideslopeWhat am I doing wrong???

Hello friends,I did a search on the forum and could not find something similar to this (see picture).Anyone knows why this happens and how to solve? It happens mainly in ORD (default scenery - all sliders maxed) and replacement textures for runways are not to blame because I saw it before with default runaway textures.Any help is appreciatted.Thank you.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/82584.jpg

Hi I just upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP and I'm trying to install Realscene 2004 but having trouble with the installer. The cd uses InstallShield Wizard but that doesn't work so ended up manually installing the mesh and landclass files myself. That worked ok but now I wanted to install the update for it but that uses the same installer which doesn't work for me. Here is a picture of what it says when I try to use the installer. Thanks alot for any help.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/82515.jpg

Something, somewhere has messed up my FS9 which is not surprising when I look at all the junk I've piled into it.Every three to four minutes, I'm getting slow down and long pause which manifests itself through stuttering sound (which sometimes continues, like a stuck record) followed by a pause of about ten seconds. When the sim reactivates, textures refresh each time.Seems like a memory thing to me, but I've made no changes that I know of and all has been running well for a year.Occasionally, also, I'm getting close outs with a "ntdll.dll" cause. I remember this little buzzard but for the life of me can't remember what it does, or doesn't in this case. I thought I'd c…

1) Is it possible to force MSFS to keep the aircraft paint loaded into texture memory? I'm really tired of seeing the grey behemoth(sp?) everytime I switch to s spot view. I have TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=400.2) Is it possible to turn the sound in spot view down without effecting other sounds? I fly on VATSIM and I've had to ask for more than a few controllers to repeat messages because I couldn't hear over the engines while in spot view.3) Save your aircraft type and location so that everytime you load the FS it picks you up in a cold and dark cockpit of your last used aircraft at the same airport/gate/etc?

Hi. Been doing a lot of hands-on flying lately. I could really use some kind of detailed flight analysis program that could show for each flight:G'sSink rate on touchdownMax descent rateMax degrees of bank...and so onAnything that is important for the safety of the flight as well as the comfort of the passengers. Does such a program exist at all?

FS9 is on my "C" Drive and weighted down with add-on scenery and aircraft which has noticable slowed booting and reaction times.I'd like to speed things up and, in particular, I'd like to improve the frame rate of the PMDG 737It occurs to me that I may achieve these goals by installing FS9 onto my "D" Drive IN ADDITION TO it's installation on "C". I'd then use this second installation just for the PMDG 737 without any add-ons.Can it be done without creating problems with the original installation?Cliff

Hi all,Well, I'm makin' headway with the dual monitor setup but have run into a problem. The primary monitor is an 18" LCD (1280 by 1024 resolution)and the secondary monitor is a 15" LCD (resolution 1024 by 768). Video card is a Radeon Pro 128. Monitors work fine in this configuration; no problems.Initially, I started fs9 and undocked Fsnav and drug it over to the secondary monitor and everything went fine. Resolution is clearly 1024 by 768) Tonight, I started the default Cessna/Seattle flight, opened the radio stack (I have to do this all in window mode, not full screen, won't work) and drug it over to the secondary monitor. Everything cool. Now, when I alt + enter into…

The Beavers that I have found in the Library are all great. I should mention a thank you for the time these people take to provide us with the wonderful free ware.I have searched (as in beaver and fs2004 org aircraft). I have tried to install them all. I finally got them to work. The only issue is that the leaver on the yoke that is assigned to the prop pitch (the one that works for this on all the other like type aircraft) however in all of the beavers I have gotten from the AVSIM Library (and as mentioned above I D/L "em" all, under original aircraft for fs 2004) the

I left out a step in the install for the two "compatability" versions. If you installed it using the steps for use with bcmeshp2.zip or bcablakefixv2.zip please go to flight simulator 9sceneryNamwscenery and move the file hp916150.bgl into the "temp hold for coulee dam" folder. The area affected by the missed step is the south end of Banks Lake.I've contacted the library managers and it should be corrected shortly.Sorry for the foul up.

For several weeks I have been working on a RAF Upper Heyford 1960/70s scenery addon which is now virtually completed.I undertook this at the request of(and with the help of) Steve Mock and Paul Metzner who were there in the late 60s flying Kaman Huskies with the 40 ARRW.Before I upload it to the file library , I would like to get some comments/critisism on it so that I can make any neccessary adjustments or changes. You can download a beta copy at my website-http://daveg4otu.tripod.com/flitetime/Dave

Hello.I'm hoping someone can help me out with a problem I've run into.I have downloaded a B-17 for FS2004 (membelle.zip at flightsim.com) as well as the panel by Robert Hawk (b17_panel.zip here at avsim). With Robert's panel came two aircraft.cfg files for use. One for the "F" model (which is the download mentioned above) and one for an "E" model. It seems that when using his aircraft.cfg file, the prop of the #1 engine rotates in the opposite direction of the other three. If I use the aircraft.cfg file that came with the plane it works properly. So, there is obviously something that is a miss with Robert's file but I don't know exactly what or how to fix it.I have tri…

If you'd like to try the modern 2D panel as a seperate panel in your Aerosoft Beavers and have the panel display some necessary and fun functions, then take a look at this thread from the BFU forums.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=21983&page=
