Hi All,I just bought Reality-XP's 530XP. Now I'm trying to figure out how to plan my flights to ustilize it.How do you plan your flights?Do you get a weather briefing before you start the simulator so you know which direction you will be taking off and landing, so you can plan which runways and which dep/arr procedures you will use?Do you use FS9 ATC at all, or just fly the route you have planned?What flight planners are you using.Info about anyone's procedures would be helpful.Thanks

This is my question:I am flying from airport X to Y, when Reaching Y I get ATC clearance to descend and receive a aproach clearance... I am also given the option to select a different approach, including vectors and the like...I tried asking for an different ILS with vectors, and ATC vectored me to what I suppose is the IAF, is that right?If I request the other option, Will ATC allow me to fly a Full blown Arrival (STAR) and Approach (ILS, GPS, NDB, etc) ? with altitude restrictions and Step descents?or Will I be bother with the usual "Go back to where I want" stuff and IFR Cancelled if I do not comply?Thanks for the respose.

I've come accross a couple airports that although there's an ATIS frequency listed, tuning to it results in nothing. The two I've found are LGAV (Athens) and OERK (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.) I've never noticed this happening anywhere else. I'm doing an around the world trip and am just wondering if I'll continue to encounter this problem.

It's really a minor problem but if I can fix it that would be great. Let me see if I can explain this so that you guys can understand it. When flying from the VC and do a turn I get a small "jerk" every second or so. It also happens during level flight but is not as noticeable. I see this "jerk" also from viewing the plane from spot view. It looks as if the textures need to load or something. The thing is that if I turn off "Transform and Lighting" it disappears. Is it really that important with T&L anyway...could someone show/tell me the difference with it on and off?Anyway...maybe someone here had the same problem and solved it.Specs:XPRadeon9700 ProCat 3.10-Mikkel

Could someone provide me with the fix for smoothing out the autothrottle during approach. On some aircraft it is really bad,,up,,down,,up,down etc. Something in the aircraft.cfg but I cant remember what. ThanksJohn

The new Kittyhawk range of 737-800s is totally dazzling with amazing textures and clear imaging. But their flight performance is mixed. It's tough to slow them down on approach and the pitch angles are sub-optimal during that phase of flight.I was wondering, is there some way to combine the superb flight dynamics of the FFX NG range with the great visual model of the Kittyhawks?Appreciate any advice, thanks!JS

In another thread I was asked about a picture I took while on a descent through icing to an Ils.So for you all here is the shot again which highlights the lack of fear in our sim.Only through accurate reproduction of real world hazards especially weather related can we create that challenge of flight, that pit of the stomach fear, that descision making.Fs2006 please be a fully dynamic weather system with all its hazards.This pic pushes the point for Dynamic weather dont you think? ;-)Peterhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/82814.jpg

It actually appears like the Northern Lights, with spikes upwards, moving, shimmering in air space above the water.I remember someone asking about this when FS9 CoF came out. But at that time, I wasn't planning on buying FS9. So I didn't pay any attention to the discussion.I was gonna just ignore it. But it's bothering me too much!Anybody know how to fix this?Thanks!!Rick

Just installed these most recent Omega drivers, but when I try launching FS9 I am getting a message which says driver such and such was "invalid" and FS9 would be started in software mode only. Did I miss something here, or is this a known problem with the 2.5.51 Omegas?Thanks for any sort of advice!

I've heard of the seasonal CTD problem, but this is a new one on me! I am getting CTD's whenever I select a sea plane. All other aircraft work fine, but no matter which sea plane I pick be it the Cessna Caravan or any other one FS9 crashes. I've tried creating a new FS9.CFG file but that didn't work. I've just recently added USA Roads, and FSGenesis 38M dems so maybe that has something to do with it. I also use Ultimate traffic. Has anybody else had this problem, or know how to fix it? Any help is appreciated!!ThanksTom

I tried to search for this topic using search option, but none of the solutions found addresses my problem unfortunately.I am connected to SB and see other aircraft on a TCAS display, yet I am unable to see them around me at the airport.I have an internet connection via ISDN modem provided to me by my telephone operator and have no firewall installed.I will appreciate your help.Dom

Hey guy's! I have the PMDG 737 package for FS2004 and it's great! I was so surprised when i was on decent i deployed the wing Spoiler's a little, and it had the Rumble sound that real planes have when they depoly the Spoliers or known as "Speed BRakes" on decent to slow down! I loved that sound in FS! Is there any way i can add this Spolier "Rumble" sound to toher panels i have? Like for my SGA DC-10's, Mel's 777's, and POSKY 767,747 and 757's!? I would love to have this sound in al my Planes! IF anyone can Help me on this, I would really apprecite it! And THank's PMDG for a great Panel! MIKE :)

Can someone who has the FSD Aerostar Superstar tell me how to set the V/S bug. I've been thru the POH a couple of times and can't find anything pertaining to how to adjust/set the V/S of the aircraft.Thanks,Jim

I am considering whether to buy the VFR Photographic scenery now that it has come down in price. I already have the VFR Terrain that came out recently and that is superb (We have a coastline at last). I was just wondering what the concensus of opinion is on this. I'm not a high flyer in fast jets, I tootle along between 2500 and 5000 feet. I already have some of the UK2000 airports. I'm beginning to get the AI traffic bug, and am toying with the idea of trying out some PAI packages or UT. I'm not all that interested in spending lots of time customizing the world for realism down to every last obscure airline and flight plan. Mostly I'd like to see reasonably accurate populations of the airlines that fly in my local area, and at least plausible numbers and identities of airlines at major airports in the U.S. At least for the time being.I've read how UT saves so much time over the customization necessary with freeware AI traffic. But it seems to me that I should be able to accomplish the above by installing PAI packages for six or seven major airli…

Hi,I'm trying to find tech. support for RealScene 2004. While flying to KALB (Albany, NY), I discovered an approximately 50-square-mile area around the city that displays a patchwork of grey tiles where the landclass isn't overlain on the terrain mesh. It's in a checkerboard pattern consisting of tiles of normal scenery, intermingled with grey DEM tiles with no landclass. I haven't noticed this phenomena anywhere else yet. I tried refreshing the scenery but it didn't help. Is this a known problem in this area? I can post some screenshots in a few days if requested.Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hello!I have some problems using AFCAD2.I made a major upgrade of my computerand installed new HDD, etc., of coursemaking backups of my FS9 files (AFCAD2s,etc.)Now when I reinstalled my FS9 to my new HDD the AFCAD2 doesn't work.When it's supposed to "collect airports", it just stops blank.Is this to do with my FSUIPC (the same as before), or my having backups elsewhere on my drives?Grateful for help.Thanks.Hans HermanssonSWEDEN

hi,i'm getting really annoyed by this, but whenever i fly a flight of 2hrs+ i get a gradual frame rates slowdown to about 9 by the time i'm on approach (to any airport, doesn't matter if its somthign like simflyers or default). however it rarely goes lower than 9, but it is quite noticable at this point.the problem occurs online & offline, day & night, all times of year, with low scenery settings & max settings.i have tried refreshing the scenery when it starts to slow down & locking the fps higher (currently locked at 25).i also get "out of memory" FS crashing errors now & then which suggests a memory leak to me, but if i look in the windows XP taskma…
