When using the top-down view, can anyone tell me why is it that when you are zoomed pretty close to your aircraft you may see yourself heading one way and then when you zoom out by a few factors it will show that you are heading in a totally different direction.What I mean is that when you are fairly closely soomed in you may see the screen scrolling from top to bottom but then when you zoom out , the screen maybe scrolling from left to right or right to left. Thank you.

Im curious what everyone does with the exe flie of a payware plane or scenery after you install it? I have been keeping my exe files after I installed the product, but Ive been thinking of deleting them cause they are starting to take up space.Is there a good reason to keep the exe files after you installed the product?

Are there any really good and realistic "halos" out there for more realistic lights? (runways, taxi nav/landninglights)

I installed Shez's great Palm Springs airport but I am having trouble with ATC giving me the correct visual for altitude ~15 nm out.There seems to be a mtn range to the north west of the field and ATC tells me to climb to 11000 when I am on base to 13R and the to descend to 6800 and 2500 respectively on final in a matter of 10 nm.I have made 2 flts with a crj and ATR and had to approach 13R at an attonishing 3500 ft sec drop on my VSI indicator inorder to even make the runway at the halfway point.I was wondering if anyone has a clue how to aaproach this runway.The flight originates out of KSAN at an altitude of 13000ft and I use the FS9 flight planner.ThanksAndy

Hello pilots...I'm looking for a replacment to the default 'load real-world weather (update every 15 minutes)' functionality in FS9. I find that sometimes it seems to set the weather to something I really don't believe could be realistic - although I'm no expert, and I suppose it could be accurate!Anyway - I know there are several programs out there, but I do not want anything too advanced, just something that will set my weather to real-world conditions properly. Hi all,After a year of haitus from FS, i'm back with FS9. I need some help with third party gauges. Recently I installed the popular TU-154, and I'm getting errors relating to unable to load some of the gauges for the panel. I recall there was an option in FS2002 to enable using third party gauges? I wonder there is anything similar i need to do in FS9 to enable these gauges? Thanks for the help.

I've been merrily removing bgl's as per the directions but noticing that some of the bgl's that he refers to are not present, to be removed, in the folders NAMC, MAMW etc.Will this make a difference?Thanks,Adam

Just wondering if everyone has this problem. While in virtual cockpit, if I move around with the backspace/control key, or shift/backspace or enter, and then turn around and look back, I find the whole back end of my plane is missing (see pics). Doesn't matter which default plane I use. Seems to me I used to be able to move back and look through a back window. Unless that was in a freeware plane from the library. Does everyone have this same glitch with the default aircraft?

The real benefit is that you now have an Airspeed gauge that only goes to 200 knots, in line with the main panel gauge. FS ATC gave me a GPS approach? What exactly is this? I assume using the internal GPS system that comes with FS.Also the weather was IFR. I was flying Flight 1 ATR and am using it's FMC. I didn't have a GPS approach programmed into the ATR FMC.At this point, should I request a runway with an ILS?Thanks!Barry

Every 6 months or so FS gets a little screwy and I have to delete the FS9 cfg and start a fresh one. However now that I have done this I can't save any flights. this is a real pain when I'm designing scenery since I have to reload then go to the airport I was working on rather than saving where I want to be.Any Ideas????BrianPS I also have the patch installed

After reading the article below on the settings in the framerate limiter option, I set my framerates (usually run at a 25 fps limit) to "Unlimited" - this almost doubled my framerates! Both on the ground, and in flight, and during landing. My system: Athlon XP 2,200, 1 Gig Ram, GForceTi 4200.All sliders 80% right, ai traffic "very dense," active sky, chris willis' clouds, etc. Try it out and experiment.ricardo

I have Ian Gallacher's freeware scenery of Edinburgh (EGPH) and I have a problem with it, there are green hangers showing up in the scenery that are not supposed to be there. These hangers are the same ones that are found in Aeroworx's Johannesburg airport scenery. The hangers are covering parking spaces and blocking a taxi route (among other places). I would like to remove them from the Edinburgh scenery.I have been told to put the Johannesburg scenery above the Edinburgh scenery in the FS9 scenery list but that did not work (I also been told to try the opposite way). I'm a long time Boeing fan. I own 767 PIC, Dreamfleet 737, PMDG 737, Captain Sim's 727. Now, after much thought, I think I'm ready to step in to the world of Airbus. But I have to admit, I'm a little nervous. I've never driven any Airbus before. I've heard that the systems 'logic' is completley different than that of Boeing planes. I'm considering A320 PIC and A320 Proffesional. Which should I get? I'm looking for the most accurate one. I hate dummy switches that don't do anything. Did a flight in Columbia this aft/evening. Thought I'd mention it here. Decided to land at Tres Esquinas (SKTQ). Noticed clouds building up as I neared the airport. ATC guided me in IFR but when they got me in close and asked me to make a visual (no ILS) I couldn't. I decided to try another airport, back north from where I had come from as it was clear weather back that way. Sure enough, as I flew north the weather cleared. I cancelled IFR and went VFR.
