All of my magnetic deviations have been lost. I do not remember what I installed to make this happen. It is as if the entire globe doesn't have any magnetic deviation. all of my approach headings on ils and runway headings are the true headings, not the magnetic variations. Please help:(

The new Ultimate Terrain series from Flight 1 looks like another benchmark in FS9. The 3D lights at night are going to add so much more realism. I have a feeling I'll be doing a LOT of night flying :-)Only thing I hope is that the roads can be turned off and the lights will work with the default.Cheers,Todd

I came across this article at DevMaster.net, it's actually from Aug.2004: http://www.devmaster.net/fullstory.php?storyID=318 It's about a graphics programming book by Sebastien St-Laurent, and it says this about the author: "Sebastien is now currently employed with the Microsoft Corporation where he is a graphics developer for the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator 2006." Does it mean we'll have FS2006 then?? :) Question is: How reliable is this article? has anybody seen it before? Leo

Guys I've been doing some virtual flying in thebeautiful state of Washington and find that I'velost KUIL (Quillayute State Airport)I've got the default afcad, but the airport showsup as a field, I have aircraft on the field but noconcrete at all.According to AFCAD 2.1 the airport should be inthe Namw directory in a file called AP914140.BGLwhich I do have the file and its 37,294 bytes.So have I somehow over time deleted this airportor is it missing in the initial install?I supose my next step is to try and find it onthe installation discs and reload it?Thanks guys

In FS2004 when I am on the creat a flight screen and move the cursor arrow over the rotating aircraft box, the cursor disappears until it is moved off the boxes area.I had just had to reinstall FS2004 and it was fine. The only things I then installed were the AS2004 4.5 update and RealScene 2004 USA Terrain & Landclass Data Sets.

Hi I have a new computer that is ajoy to behold, with smooth flying and good frame rates. It is marred however, by the colour of the water, which is of a light turquoise hue. I installed Bill Lyons "waterzone" in the hope that it would make aome difference but unfortunately it didn't. Occasionally, during the flight the sim will suddenly revert to the proper water colour, but this is unpredictable as to when it might happen.I have searched the archive files, and found this reported before, but no cure suggested, other than it is affected by the amount of cloud loaded in the weather pattern. Is it normal for FS9 as soon as it is loaded and your aircraft positioned at the gate, for the application to be using between 95-100 % CPU - even without egines started. If this is not usual, any suggestions as to what may be the problem?

Hi ChrisMany thanks and congratulations on another stunning contribution to the FS world. Just one question - I really liked the cracks in the tarmac provided in vers.6. This gave a very authentic feel to an airport. Is there any way I could 'mix and match' the textures to get this effect back?Bud

HiI love the upgrade and fps at least on my system was unaffected.What I did notice was the blue edge lights and the green taxi lights are much larger than what I was using before. The first thing I thought of doing was editing the RUNWAY_LIGHTS_XXXX_XXXX in the config. Never noticed before but these lights seem to be unaffected by my changes. So my question is: What is the name of the bitmap used for these? Can anyone make a recommendation on others for me to try?Hope I gave enough info. Any help would be much appreciated.RegardsBob G

Hello, I have downloaded some aircrafts from AVSim library that offer animated doors, etc. It also offer 'passenger wingviews'. The problem is that the author did not state in their "read me" document on what keys to use for wingviews? Does anyone know? Erik Diamond

I recently set up my new pc (athlon 3500, 1 gig Corsair, x600 xt) and want to find a good tweaker to override the settings in fs9. I downloaded the tooltray one and my card does not respond to it. I know from past experience with my 9500 pro that a good tweaker is the way to get the most out of the sim and card. I'm actually not happy with the x600, but will keep it until later this year before looking for an upgrade.Any help is much appreciated.

Hey all, I have ordered a 19 inch Viewsonic 16ms LCD that will be here Friday, I am replacing my old 19 inch CRT with it. I was curious as to how simple/difficult it is to setup FS on 2 monitors. Using my old monitor for panel windows. I have a Radeon 9800 pro for my video card. Hi All,I wondered if anyone else was having this kind of trouble,I have re-installed FS9 after a re-format, and yet the default brakes button will not work for me with my Saitek X52, I have even re-assigned the brakes key to ctrl-d, pressing this on the keyboard works, but not with the stick, anyone had this before at all.thanks.

HiIts 7:15pm and I am sitting at my PC with FS9.1 running. I have selected my home airport NZWN and set the time to 7:15pm, the correct date and season, but FS thinks its night time here. But as everyone now knows its the middle of summer here and as I look out of the window the sun is still about 20deg above the horizon, so there still a good hour and a half before dusk.So my question is - does anyone know if there is there any way that I can "teach" FS about sunrise/sunset at my location, so that when I select 7:15pm in the summer it does not display darkness?

The City Challenger Two Ultralight is great to look at and a joy to fly. For some reason my aircraft goes around in circles when I hit the "Y" key. Anyone know why this is happening? Also when exiting slew mode the AC is in the air with the engine running.I need to slew in the top down mode to work with rwy12 objects. rnails

I remember in earlier incarnations of FS that the limit for the number of scenery entries in scenery.cfg was 255. Is this still the case in FS9 or is it ok to exceed?

Was wondering if there was a site where people share their GMAX object creations? Haven't the time right now for the stiff learning curve and I hate reinventing the wheel. There's a few objects I need for the scenery project I'm working on such as stadiums, construction products, Circle K stores, freeway overpasses, that kind of thing. None of the flight sim sites seem to have GMAX model stuff other than the thing specific to Rwy12 and there's very few objects there that aren't specific to airports. Thanks, Art Martin

Hey... I downloaded the ex-payware aircraft from simtech (Beech 18, Staggerwing, and others), as well as the Grumman Widgeon. Theyre all excellent except for one thing... they have a horrible flight model, resulting in the wings fighting to get back to level... usually going past level into opposite bank. Other than that, they are fine. Does anyone know what will take care of that? (I have basic knowledge of the air/cfg files) I'd appreciate any help. I'd really like to keep these planes but unless I can fix that fighting flight model, theyre going in the trash.

After I installed EditVoice Pack 3.1, made my changes and did an update, I lost all the ATC voices. In other words, I can't get ATIS and I can't get Clearance Delivery or any of the other positions. I've tried restoring the default FS voices but that failed. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling FS and I still don't get those voices back. I've also tried extracting the gvp file, but no go. Do I need to completely wipe out FS and its directories?Thanks.
