Doing my favorite think lately, spending money on FS9 I decided to buy Flight 1's Flight Environment last night. I installed it , took a quick look at the clouds, and went to bed. This morning I get up for a day of fun flying around, boot up FS9 as usual, and turn on Active Sky and immediately the screen goes jet black, and FS9 crashes with the note about letting Bill Gates know what my problem is, if I want. OK, I started checking things, cause the first crash happened as I was panning around the VC of a Beaver that I installed some mods to the panel in, last evening. OK, boot up with another aircraft. Same thing. Now I am thinking, maybe Active Sky is having a disagr…

Hello fellow simmers :)Wondering if you all could throw some suggestionsadvice this way.Im enjoying flying the excellent HNAC A300-600 airplane but its exhibiting a strange problem: it wont get of the ground until the airspeed is 175+ knots.Im no airliner pilot but Im making an educated guess that that is an excessively high airspeed to wait for to rotate...? Or am I wrong?!Anyway...I tested the problem by putting in almost no fuel (2% in all tanks) and it still refused to fly until past 175 kts. Same behaviour with varying fuel loads. Flap settings are correct.Would be grateful if fellow HNAC A300-600 drivers could lend a hand!And if you are wondering - I have not fiddle…

Hey guy's, I am looking for someone who liver near or Spots at KDTW Intl Airport? I just bought the Imagine Sim KDTW Intl for FS, And want to make a Real Life AFCAD for it, I went on thier main web site, and it just lists the Terminal where the Airlines Park. I want to find out which gates they park at, I know where NWA parks, but i need to knwo what gates Airlines park at the Smith terminal i think... Like SWA, AA, and UA i know park there, but what gate #'s? I would really apprecite this Info! Thank's MIKE:)

On the Dash 7 that was freeware here from the the Dash 7 team, I am aware of the AUTO-SPOILERS and the switch to use to arm. I also understand the key stroke command for manual operation is the "/" (w/o the quotes). I wanted to know if any one knows where the switch is on the panel to work the spoilers manually.Also, in a search here in the library, I found a re-paint for this aircraft in the Rocky Mountain Airways colors. It was for FS2002 though. I could not find one for FS2004. Is there a way that the FS2002 Re-paint can work with FS 2004? I would like to know for this as well as a few other aircraft re-paints.I appreciate any help.

With Owen's great new Bell, I've been rediscovering copters again in MSFS and still find I haven't lost my touch when it comes to hovering, slow flight, and sideways flight. But I am curious about cruise flight vs. cruise speed in copters, whether MSFS or real. In MSFS, the only way to hit the 120kts that most copters like the Bell can reach, is to fly with a steep nose down angle--otherwise the copter climbs like there's no tomorrow.Do real copters have such a nose-down attitude when they are at similar speeds? If so, what's a more typical cruise speed that such copters should be flown at? I know we don't have many copter pilots here, so I'll patiently await a respon…

in my fs2004 I have notice that at sunset appear on the ground a few squares of textures that are more dark, like night texture. this effect don't appear in day hours.why this problem? there's a solution?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/112606.jpg

I have Ultimate Traffic and I noticed the traffic is really sparse in Alaska. Even around Anchorage (PANC)...Is it like this in real life? Around Anchorage (PANC)? I have been to anchorage in real life and there is always float planes, and tons of GA traffic everywhere.Is there anyway to add more GA traffic? I fly the ATR at about FL120.Thanks!Barry

Where can I download a copy of the revised airlines.config file that includes all of the arlines that ATC in FS2004 is capable of calling?

With the new LDS and some other planes you can push the ident button right on the transponder to give atc (vatsim) an ident. Is there a way you can use fsuipc and assign a nutton on the yoke to ident when pushed. I know there are some transponder assignments on fsuipc but i do not see an ident one. thx guys

Hi,Lately I have been experiencing a strange bug when doing flights in FS9.When Im using a freeware panel, and model (anything really) after takeoff when I reach about 3000-4000ft using autopilot-autothrottle, the autopilot starts giving the plane full thrust, If i look at the airspeed indicator on the panel, it shows my current airspeed (or on some panels it shows 0.0kts) but if i press shift+z on top of the screen it displays an airspeed of 0.0ktsYesterday i tried descending, and right before i touched the ground the airspeed indicator on the top of the screen started working again, but after reaching about 7000ft it just dropped to 0.0kts altought the plane did not los…

I realize that local airport winds are in magnetic bearings and winds aloft are in true. When using the Real Weather option in FS9, are the winds reported the same or are they in magnetic bearing or true bearing?

I downloaded the Frontier airlines Convair and had working gauges in VC mode. But, then due to a corrupted file, I had to redownload, and now I have no primary working gauges. There is just a flat grey panel. i have a weird problem when in flight, when im in flight my air speed indicator will go to zero , also the standby indicator will do the same thing, im not for sure why it does that it does it mostly at the end of a flight, does not matter what plane im flying you look down and the indicator is at zero, the plane is still going it regular speed but you now dont know how fast you are going, in about five minute it will correct itself, but somtimes at the wrong time.Does anyone no whats going on.Thanks..........................Robert

Hi,Yesterday I took out my Level-D after a period of not flying and apparently the TCAS did not work. I was taxiing and even took off, but the message on the display kept saying TCAS OFF, when I tried to turn the switch, it just spring-loaded back to the OFF position all the time. I also tried the Flight1 ATR and that one was having a red-coloured ring around the VS indicator the whole flight, didn't matter which position the TCAS switch had. Maybe there has been some corruption with a general TCAS file in FS, but where to look at if I want to correct it? I guess it currently happens with all airplanes having TCAS in my flightsim.Thanks a lot and I'm looking for your answ…

I haven't done much with my AI aircraft. I wanted to add the new sound files that was uploaded to AVSIM for the AI aircraft. Are the AI aircraft cfg's in the FS9 Aircraft Templates Folder? Also I have an AI Beech King Air C90 in my Aircraft folder. Do I have to add the Air file and cfg to the templates folder for it to be used (activated)? Is there a thread for AI aircraft file/folder usage?Thanks

I've purchsed UT Canada/Alaska which has given me another part of the world with better water/roads to fly in. I was just wondering if anybody was aware of any flight tours available for the Canadian National Parks. I know that there is a file for the US National Parks in the Avsim library (us_national_parks_v1.zip)but I haven't yet been able to find anything similar for Canada.Victor

Hello thereCan anyone help me find a link to a website that I got after searching these forums a while back, please. You could input an airport location and it gave METAR information in a very simple and easy to understand format - spelling out temp, pressure, dew point, visibility etc. I think there might even have been little symbols. I know there are many other METAR sites but this was particularly easy to use and understand. One of my aircraft.cfg files contains over 1400 aircraft. VIP3 set.Since this presents a problem and incompatibility in my FS9 system, I was wondering if it's possible to somehow "split" this, so that I have say 3 files and/or folders containing all the aircraft and textures, but each with say 500 entries. Important is that they maintain the functionality (for instance, if vip folder is named vip1/vip2/vip3). Will that work???
