I installed the update for the FSD Cheyenne and yes there are a lot of improvements and much more functionality in the VC.As an example, when using Active Camera in a flight, I put myself in back in a seat and got "comfy & sleepy" cause it looks nice and warm. Cabin is redone some.Radios work in VC and the ADF is uniquely useful with its easy changing of digits. And visors rotate. etc etc... looks cleaner with overhead panel switches easier to use...Good job.Allen

Hi,While we are on the subject of cool scenery packages, and since we've had package after package of SF and Seattle, how about some east coast scenery, particularly, Boston proper, to complement GG's KBOS?I've done a teeny bit of scenery myself, but I think this is a project beyond my current capabilities.Thanks, Thomas Perry

Hi All,Question. When using flight planner of course you select the starting airfield along with your position (ie: gate) and the end location. My question is, if I've saved a flight at a base airport in front of a hanger (not a default gate)how do I create a flight plan that begins at the place where I saved the flight (my hanger) and not at a default gate.Thanks Blind Lemon

Hey all :-wave So, does anyone know the details of ATC's ability to authroize ILS approach clearance's via a certain transition fix?? I've used the option a couple of times, and I just love how you can just fly the approach as published with the transition fix without intervention from ATC. This could be a great feature if it was just more consistant and at every airport. Basically, does anyone know how this feature works? Such as how to edit these procedures and maybe add-on to them? Are they listed within the AFCAD file? That would explain the inconsitancies between the airports I fly into. If we could find a way to screw with these, allowing the ability to fly ST…

I am using the CH yoke and was wondering exactly when I need to change the mixture. I assigned it to one of the levers next to the throttle but am unsure of when to use it. Thanks.

Goal is simple:Get some AI traffic that looks like RW airplane paints (Delta, NWA, SWA, etc...) and make it so the Air traffic calls them by their names over the radio...I don't want to impact framerates... Default planes are fine as long as I can tell it's a Delta plane, etc...They don't have to be flying RW schedules thought that would be a small plus...Looking for a FREEWARE solution.What's the best available that meets the requirements above?I'm a noob; please help.

Dont know how many of you know about an absolutely stunning piece of freeware developed by NASA called World Wind. Its a 3D globe and land mass viewing tool that allows you to pan and zoom on a 3D Earth globe down to very high detail. Unbelieveable tool. You can download ithere:http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/Its amazing to zoom in on say, Georenders Sky Harbor S86 airport or Ranger Creek and see the awesome accuracy of not only Richard Goldsteins work, but the tool can pan in 3D, so you can actually see the REAL life view of how an approach would look from various angles. Just think if I was a scenery designer, this tool would be a defacto requirement!Eric

I have a problem when trying to save the flight in a cold and dark situation. I load up the default cessna, turn off the avionics, fuel, battery, then save the flight as default. Quit, and load up FS9.1 again, but the engines and everything is on? How do I get the game to always load up a cold and dark airplane no matter what craft it is? Thanks

Hi. Longtime reader, went away from flightsim for at least a year, now back with new login. So I guess this is my first post :)I'm not really a "Survivor" addict, but I do admit to enjoying the current series' scenery on Palau in Micronesia. I'd like to do a little VFR flightsim around Palau, the Yap Islands, Guam, etc., but the default FS2002 scenery is, well, uninspiring. I read this with interest. I purchased Voice Buddy 2.0 a couple of months ago along with their headset and have given up trying to use it. Despite others claims of remarkable success with voice recognition, training the program, having adequate power to run it, etc, I find that about 50% of the time it simply ignores or cannot recognize the same commands. At other times it can. Tech support has not been able to solve the issue for me. This rate of recognition led to many frustrating and aborted flights. I asked if the headset is faulty but they say it does not fail and won't replace it.The command editor is also very clumsy compared to Game Commander. I wanted to heavily…

On many occasions people have said that FS9 is only a $50 sim. In reality it is a multi million $ sim yet the $50 dollar unit price is used to excuse faults or lackings usually with the quote that "its only a game".Reality says that while Joe Bloggs may have the untouched version of FS9 on his computer I suspect that very few in these forums do.Add up all your addon payware aircraft, mesh scenery, airports, utilities etc and it is conceivable that your $50 sim could be into the thousand/ thousands of $.Every day there are multiple releases of commercial ware ranging from $10 to $50 and it wouldnt surprise me if someone out there hasnt got a version of FS9 loaded to the hi…

I have purchased the Cloud9 F-104 and i have to say it seems to be a really nice addon, I am still reading throught the manual after a couple of quick flights but so far i like it a lot.I have their Fiat G91 which is great , This F-104 has more systems modeled and definatly needs a read of the manual to get the best from it.Anyone else here tried this one yet ?.

Hello all.I just got myself the nice freeware Kittyhawk 737-800. The one tiny thing I want to adjust are the wingtip strobe lights. I want to make them flash *rapidly* (currently they kinda wheeze on and off with a 5-second gap)So I thought I'd root out the strobe fx file and see if I could fiddle with it to make the strobes flash agressively & rapidly.Problem: I find no entry for wingtip strobes in the aircraft.cfg! Hello all,I personally prefer flying the classiscs. I was wondering if there were any scenery packs, utilities or anything that would help me "recreate" the early years of flight. Specifically, I would like to alter the "major" airports so that they are less modern, and smaller as they would have been back in the day.Are there any packs or utilities that would help me recreat this era? Even if I have to do it myself, are there any utilities that will help in altering the airports to my liking.I'm sure that I am not the only one who is looking for something like this, so if it already hasn't been done, I would be more than happy to share any work I have done in this end…

Does anyone know what the difference is between the operation of FS9 in windowed mode vs full screen? I have a intermittant weird dislay probelm in full screen with the textures like trees, ground scenery, etc..., and when switching to windowed mode, it immediatly corrects itself. Back to full screen and the problem returns. Selecting another aircraft, will cause it to also correct itself, sometimes for the rest of the day. Rebooting the pc, always returns the graphics to normal for a day or more.

...new CPU, new motherboard, new memory sticks...and the same old hardware-bound add-ons. Can't install much of anything. Comcast's DNS servers are down and there is no way to reach Flight1 (or almost anywhere else for that matter). I have "Real Scene 2004" mesh for the USA and I am looking for mesh for the rest of the world. I understand Real Scene is 30 meter resampled to 38.2 meter spacing. Just Flight has a new world mesh called, "Global Mesh" with these specs:"Three DVD-ROMs provide new mesh terrain data for the entire globe, most of it sourced directly from NASA's Space Shuttle missions.
