Hi,With today's security threats ever present, I was wondering whether it is recommended to run FS with antivirus enabled or disabled, considering how much in the way of computer resources antivirus programs take up. I'm especially interested because I usually fly online (VATSIM) and have all the usual programs running that require an online connection.Just intersted in everyone's thoughts on this.Lawrie

I seem to remember at one time there was a utility that could be used to turn all of the buildings roofs in FS9 into helipads (ie, you can land on them). Does anyone know if this exists, and where it can be found? Thanks,Tim13

Hi there,just recently I saw a post that mentioned installing less than the default 9 voices but I can't find that post anymore.I'm one of those ATC-stutter simmers that has tried everything (swapping sound cards/onboard, new drivers, decreasing sound acceleration within soundcard/directX) and I'm wondering if using less than those 9 voices that FS9 uses would decrease the ATC stutter I'm experiencing?I believe it can be setup during minimal install but I'm wondering if I can (I have a full install) find any limited ATC files on the original disks and replace them in my full install?Any help would be greatly appreciated.Cheers,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepa…

Sometime ago I wrote about my problem with the missing Portland default terminal. Well, I forgot about it because I installed a nice addon scenery for this airport. I now have discovered that many of my default airport terminals are missing! They seem to be concentrated in the west; KONT, KLGB, KSJC, KFAT. I checked some airports in Texas and Georgia and they appear OK. Where are the default terminals located? Could someone please suggest a fix?Thanks!Airbus

Hi guys, I thought I'd post a tale of a very strange happening in FS last night. I was flying an overnight trip from SFO to LHR in the PMDG 747. During the flight I went to bed and in the morning returned to the computer to prepare for the landing to be faced by a screen showing my desktop, FS was nowhere to be seen except that Taskmanager told me it was still running. So I closed ir down and restarted. Before the intro splash screen I get an FS ERROR message stating that the file dem4km.bgl was missing or corrupted and I should replace the file.I searched for the file and found it in the directory FS9scriptscenerybasescenery folder!Hang on, I thought, that whole scenery …

Are the publishers of Wonderful Rio (world sceneries) still around? I sent an email to customer support looking for a replacement key but have not heard back from them... any ideas??? I have a back of my FS2002 files on CD - so I moved the RIO scenery and texture files over to FS2004 and it works but there is no autogen. So apperently I will have to do a fresh reinstall from scratch to get get it to work in FS2004. Anyway any ideas on contacting them for a replacement key would be appreciated...

Surely, in the past twelve months many wonderful and very popular scenery add-ons were provided to the FS community free of charge: airports, landscapes, texture replacements, etc. There was a freeware scenery category last year and I was the happy recipient - thus I was out of the race for this year anyway, in case anyone thinks "vested interest" ;-) So what happened to it this year or did someone forget to…

Hello,I would like to reload ALL of my mesh and scenery from scratch (too many addons and tweaks). Other than a complete backup for safety (I have ACRONIS Backup) what is the procedure for removing all of the old scenery and mesh info? If my memory serves me right there is a program that willscan bgl files for errors. Cannot remember the name of theexecutable and would appreciate a link from anyone who knowswhere it can be found.Thanks in advance.

Can anybody help me I have not been flying for a long time and have just re-installed FS9.It loads and runs OK but after a while it just locks the computer on a black screen (the monitor shows the no signal message) the PC is still running as i can hear very strange sounds like the AC's engine running but like it has a stammer.Its a new clean install with no add ons installed Just the 9.1 update.I have a GeForce 6800 LE.Win XP SP2Have no other problems with other games or any App's for that matter.I have searched the forum but found no problems like mine.Thanks in Advance.Phil Shaw

I broke down and bought the Aerosim classic airliners2 package tonight...just couldnt resist. However, the links to the updates on their web site apparently do not work. I get a "contains no data" error. There are two updates listed. An older one, and a newer one. Given that I purchased tonight, I would THINK my download would be fully updated, but Im not assuming anything.Anybody know where I can get these update files? I've written to Aerosim but who knows if I will get an answer.ThanksEric

Starting today (Sept.20) FS9 has been crashing to desktop after trying to initiate flights from Canadian airports other than Vancouver and during hours other than night time. Other locations and seasons other than Fall appear to be fine. My guess is that this has something to do with conflicting, corrupted or missing files related to fall scenery.I have replaced Scenery/World/Textures and Scenery, done a system restore, disabled or removed all recent scenery additions, disabled other scenery ad-ons in Canada, checked for any missing fall textures without any success solving the problem.Any ideas out there before I do a complete re-install?

Ever since I've had FS9 I have had a problem with the Audio switch being turned on automatically when ever a tune in a station. This happens with VOR, ADF. Back in FS2002, the audio switches had to be manually control, and I much prefer it that way. Question: Is there any way to change my FS9 so that it does not automatically turn on the audio when I tune a nav radio?I've been trying to figure this on out for a while:-hmmm. Sure would appreciate any help!
