How are the thrust reverse levers used in a real heavy jet?Do they normally move *with* the forward thrust levers during normal (i.e. non reverse thrust) operation, or are they parked at one end of the throttle gate? And how are they then moved when reverse thrust is required?I have just acquired a GoFlight throttle which incorporates reverse thrust levers (which actually activate on/off switches which can be mapped to the FS2004 reverse thrust keys), and I realise that I don't know how the levers are used on real aircraft.Always something new to learn. --Bryn

AVSIM is pleased to announce what we think is a first in our hobby; a consumer's survey that rates the commercial software add-on vendors in the flight simulation hobby. In it we poll user's opinions on three specific areas for each vendor and then we ask users to provide an overall rating of that vendor. This is a long survey, consisting of 109 individual questions. Do not attempt to take this survey until you have the time to complete it. We do encourage you to complete the survey. The opinions provided will greatly assist your fellow flight sim enthusiasts in making purchase decisions. We will reset this poll once a year to reflect changing opinions of the vendors list…

Hey guys,I am trying to use the new Zimbabwe Airports scenery by Matthew Ministry in combination with Holger Sandmann's Victoria Falls scenery. Whenever I try to set up a flight at FVFA irrespective of time or aircraft, the sim crashes at 0% scenery loading with an ai_playr.dll error. I have disabled Holger's AI boat traffic, but that didn't help. I have the scenery layers set up as follows:- Victoria Falls Airport- Vicfalls Bridge- vicfalls sceneryAny help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have downloaded Filename northernmn.zip from this forum. It is freeware by Dale Caruso. I cannot get it to load in FS9. The message is "Unable to locate any valid BGL files". From the loading instructions is ..... "se2 s for Lago and .bgl for RWY12 included - it goes without saying that you need both . . One freeware (RWY12) one payware (LAGO) for any of this to work. NOTE: Included is a Duluth Exclude .bgl that eliminates some towers that show up in the middle of one of the runways".I do have a Lago product "HONOLULU" but another Honolulu scenery has priority over it. A grandpa would like you assistance. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello,While I have been "simming" for quite a while, I am now getting into a little more realistic "flying". Since the ATIS "range to destinations seems unrealisticly short to me (my connections are at about 32 NM), I am trying to learn to use weather data to predict the destination airport arr runway. I am using ASV and am really happy with it as an engine. The info is for planning purposes when I fly VFR (without ATC from Radar Contact 3).Newbie question - when I see a wind direction at the destination ap of say 300 degrees (given by the ASV), do I assume that this means that the wind is blowing FROM 300 degrees and that runways for landing will be as close to that dire…

Hello.I was hoping someone could answer a question for me.I have come across some Kenmore Air flight plans by David Cooper but he mentions something that I've never seen before. He says not to forget to include the "imaginary waypoints" when putting together the .bgl file with TTools.I am familiar with TTools but not imaginary waypoints. His info looks like this...//Add to Airports textS60,N47* 45.13',W122* 16.18',32.8W55,N47* 37.73',W122* 20.32',19WA83,N48* 37.07',W122* 57.16',0W39,N48* 36.48',W123* 09.57',0W49,N48* 38.73',W122* 52.07',0CAM6,N50* 03.63',W124* 55.27',0CAC8,N49* 11.52',W123* 56.94',0W33,N48* 32.23',W123* 00.57',0CAX6,N48* 51.00',W123* 30.00',0CYWH,N48* 25.…

I installed the milatary package from projectAI the one, I use the most is the maccord AFB. But most of them, there are C-17, is there any others out there that have other milatary aircraft IE C-130 or F-4 and that is easy to install, like PAI One reason is I fly departure and landing at maccord and with these packages I can have my traffic setting low and still have AI around that airport the reason I use mccord is that I get go arounds

Does anyone know if there is a utility out there that will clean up or delete unused files and duplicate files within FS? After years and years of downloading programs, add-ons, files, ect., I think that I can use a good clean up on some of the things that are not used. I know in the past I have deleted folders and such that did not have uninstallers on them. I am sure that some of them were not deleted correctly. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Brad

FS9.1 working without any problems then last time I tried to run it I got the MS error and the offending module was fe.dll.Anyone any suggestions other than a reinstall? The fe.dll file is a MS one and its date is correct for the 9.1 patch, there is no indication that the file is corrupt or damaged and chkdsk shows no errors on the hard drive.AKAIK nothing has been run that would change anything in FS9.

This is an excellent model. Thank you, to all involved in this project. There are some things that I found that can help with some of the things that I wanted to modify to my liking that some of you may find useful also. TVTBM Changes.Elevator / Trim sensitivity adjustment:1-

Hello Gang! For the last couple of months I have been getting frequent pauses; I mean, a real "Simulation Paused" message. What causes this? The good thing is that it does not crash the sim, it simply pauses it, but it is annoying at best. Thanks for any input!Sincerely,Dennis D. Mullert

I have two payware aircraft that taxi much too fast at minimum throttle. Frequent braking is required to keep the taxi speed within controlable limits. Does anyone know if something in the aircraft.cfg file can be modified to dampen the ground speed a bit? Thanks!

in relation to this below. The default Cessna 182S aircraft.cfg file shows ATC TYPE as CESSNA and ATC MODEL as C182. The Carenado Cessna 182RG shows ATC TYPE as CESSNA and ATC MODEL as C182R .I have found a website that says that the ATC MODEL C182 is a Skylane and the C182R is a Cessna Does this not mean that the default a/c will be called by ATC as a Cessna Skylane" and the Carenado maodel will be a called a "Cessna Cessna" .I know that the Dreamfleet C310 is acllaed by ATC as a "Cessna Twin Cessna" (which sounds silly to me - is this the way it is in RL?Barry

Hi I'm having the disturbing problem of FS2004 not saving some of my settings as the default flight and so on. My preffered setting would be (when creating a flight) cessna, ESCP, Real world weather and day setting. But whatever I do to try and fix this it'll always turn up with cessna, seattle, fair weather and nighttime... I have tried everything I can think of, deleting the fs9.cfg, rebuilding and tweaking it but nothing happens...I have Win XP PRO if it'll help...Every sggestion appreciated!!!SincearlyMattias,Sweden
