My Frames Per Second really take a hit when flying at nigh time. Yes, I have several addons that make my scenery more complex. I use Ultimate traffic, Ultimate terrain and BirdsEyeView. However, there is a big differecne between day time and night time. After I landed at KDTW, I stopped and loode out the 2D panel. At night I had 6 FPS. Then, using FS9, I changed the time of day to 12 noon. I then had 24 FPS.Do you too see this type of hit? Is there any one setting I should turn "down". Most of my display setting are set towards the top of the scale. Thanks,Jim

Hi,I have a problem where some airfields/runways are raised in an unrealistic way high above the ground making it look like they are on a hill. I've seen this mainly in Sweden where I fly alot and I have TerraMesh 15 & 16 from Lago installed. Have tried disabling those from the scenery library to see if those were the cause of the problem but no change.I think this might be a rather common problem? Does someone know if it could be fixed in any way?Below is a picture showing what I'm talking about, in this case the a/c is located on runway 12 at ESSF in Sweden and you also see other parts in the terrain further away that are "raised" in this weird way. Thanks in advance…

Not really sim related, but just out of curiosity for the 737 experts. My question is: If you have an engine failure, would it be a good idea to counteract rolling tendency with aileron? I mean, if spoilers are used in conjuction with ailerons, wouldn't it mean that you are robbing lift from the wing that needs it the most? May be a dumb question... *:-*regards,Macs :)

I just tried flying in Europe for the first time, specifically the UK. I activated ATC and was surprised that the voices were the same American ones I always hear. I thought FS changed voice accents for specific regions and countries. Can this be done in FS or is it only through an addon? Thanks. Tom

I currently have FS on it's own bootable partition. I am planning to buy Falcon 4 Allied Force ( I love flying that plane) and want to install it on the FS partition as it is the leanist. My other bootable partition is full of everything. Anyone foresee any problems with that. Specifacally performance with two things on the same drive.JimCYWG

I need to solve an annoying problem i am having with my downloaded A320. i am using eric marcianos airbus panel in this aircraft and climb at 700ft/min. as i increase altitude the speed slowly drops off even though the gauges are showing 100%throttle. when i reach an altitude of approx 13,000 - 14,000 ft the speed has dropped off to 170 and then i go into a stall. is there anything i can do with the c.f.g or panel file to overcome this problem. it only happens with ifdg airbus and no other

Two pictures included here.I have a problem with water texture displayin 2D view. Here is how it looks:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/134693.jpgNow, what cures this problem in 2D view is turning the sound off, or displaying the frame rate counter (Shift-Z).Then it gets back to normal as seen here:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/134694.jpgThis problem is specific to 2D view, in any other view the water displays proper texture.I have never seen this happen before. I am using the Active Environment textures, but it seems to be associated with something else if shift-z gets rid of it.Thanks in advance for your hints,Dom

Hi Guys, Im currently really enjoying FSCargo as an addon and its added a new dimension to my flying. I've created loads of little bases tucked away in little crevices and outbacks around the world and am loving flying into each of them. However, in all this it has highlighted that, although I am highly familiar with many aircraft in FS, I am not "at one" with a single model. So I am currently looking for a "personal steed" to get to know and am able to use for the majority of my short haul simming. I have been toying for the past two days with a Beech 18 amphib. It is reasonably fast - nice performance and does both cargo and passengers but the panel is absolutely awful …

I have a question regarding the de Havilland Dove, a beautiful model of which was recently released for FS9 by Rick Piper in collaboration with several others. My question relates to the transparency of the cockpit above the standard windscreen height. Saverrio Maurri chose to depict his panel as mostly transparent leading to a very open appearance when sitting inside the cockpit. However, the implemented external model shows that part of the fuselage as solid. That prompted me to search airliners.net to look at photos of actual aircraft to see what, in fact, was true. There are several Dove photos there, and I did find one that appeared to have the whole top of the …

Although I use Radar Contact for in flight ATC, I have begun using MSATC after landing to guide me to a specific gate, as RC doesn't do this. Everytime, however, it taxis me to the same gate. I use the PMDG 747, and at EGLL I am always taxied to gate W40. On a recent flight to KORD, it directed me to a cargo stand, despite the fact that AI was not switched on, and many heavy gates were free. The SSTSim Concorde is always directed to gate 1 at KJFK, and gate T6 at EGLL. I do not use any add-on AFCAD files. They are the stock versions. Is there any way to get a bit of variety in the gate assignment? Thanks for any suggestions.-Phil

Hi,I'm experiencing continuous CTD with my FS2004 installation - I extensively searched in the forum and found a lot of useful informations, even if the application of none of them seemed to solve my problem. Probably also because some of the issues are not easy to test as they seem, with my not-so-great hardware knowledge :-)There's a think I would like to test anyway, that is try to run FS with minimum essential processes running in background.I followed some forum advices about it, but I have some doubt about how to close antivirus processes (AVG that is), that seem not accept to be stopped from task manager anyway.I would like to know if there's a way to close such pr…

So assuming the weather is good, ATC can give you a visual approach. Does that essentially mean you can go ahead and land however you want?In the video I am watching they get cleared for a visual approach. Then the pilot flying disconnects the auto pilot and flys manually. But why would you choose that option? Isn't it safer to use the autopilot?Secondly, by disconnecting the autopilot (say in a 737) you must control BOTH the pitch and roll? Or is there a way to let the autopilot control the pitch and control the roll manually?John.

Hate to throw a shameless plug here, but WOW !!!!!. I've seen so many threads asking what's the best add-on for MSFS. This is it. If anyone wants to take that next step, this is it. I've been flightsimming since FS4 and I've got to say with all the add-ons and payware I've bought, this is the best. That's all, and now back to normal programming. LOLDan

HiI know blurries have beed discussed a million times here before, but I did a search and couldn't find any post that described my exact problem.I've just given my PC a major upgrade. the past couple of weeks I've been flying GA and everything's been fine. Today I decided to fly a bit further afield, so I took my PMDG 737 for a flight. However, I had some problems. After about 40-50 minutes, every time I switched to spot view all the textures went very blurry - both in flight and at airports - at airports all tectures, AI, airport scenery, ground textures etc go blurry. It seems to happen when the aircraft textures are loading - when I switch to Spot view everything's fine …

Can anyone tell me how to get these gauges operational and the sounds too, because when I start Flight Sim I get the error messages constantly, and I already did my FS9 cfg for the old modules. Also it says I am missing a DLL for this???? I was not aware that such is needed, and if so where do I get this DLL. Last of all, is there a site with this DFD gauges and sounds. DFD stands for Dragon Flight Design, and I cannot find it anywhere. Thanks ChanRak

Hi Guy's.I have a slight problem with using my Push Back in FS9.I have tried using the shift-p, and shift-x as someone else suggested, but, it did the same thing.the problem is that when I want to push back, and swing right or left, the plane just keeps going back in a straight line, it won't turn at all. I have tried this in the PMDG,Level D, PSS etc, and in spot view, as well as in the cockpit.any thoughts would be most welcome.thanks,
