Back in the 80's, Macallan of Scotland used a Boffins Baffled bottle label on their Folio 7. ___________________________________ The same scheme is used all over the internet these days, especially Youtube Shocking discovery! 2. Last July 9, 2024, a LATAM 777 taking off from LIMC Malpensa (Italy) had made, for about 700 meters, a "Tail Strike" on the runway with serious damage reported to the tail of the aircraft. After takeoff, the aircraft returned in emergency to LIMC. Video of the tail strike at LIMC:

Hi , i live in Solrød Denmark and this flight was down to 650 feet above my area here. I think it was our local football team Copenhagen. Even VFR i dont think it is allowed in normal conditions. There is a RNAV GNSS 29 approach over the sea. https://imgur.com/a/zk5e5VV Thanks Michael Moe

  7. It is with deep sadness that I can confirm the passing of my friend Derek Davis. Many of you here in the flight simulation community will know Derek as the Editor of PC Pilot magazine since 2005. I spent over a decade working with Derek as his Deputy Editor on the magazine. Derek worked behind the scenes for years offering support and encouragement to the entire community, from developers to simmers. His passion for aviation and this community had no limits. He was my friend and we shared many good times together, including some amazing times at air shows and events! Derek grew up in a small apartment in a single parent family. Just Derek and his mother in a deprive…

I use Firefox browser and have added the free "Custom Video Speed for Youtube" extension to Firefox. CVSY provides for 3 hotkeys slow, normal, fast. As long as you hold down the "slow" key the video keeps playing increasingly slower and slower for as long as you keep holding it down. Same thing for the "Fast" key. But you just tap the "Normal" key once and it instantly jumps to normal speeds. You can assign those 3 keys to any keyboard key. I chose Z, X, and C because they are in a row together. So before a youtube video starts, I have my left hand middle 3 fingers laid on the Z,X,and C. A 30 second commercial starts as I hold down the C key. 4 seconds later the vid…

Hi fellow simmer, 🙂 I have mainly had a simmer life doing IFR/air-lines and has not touch the VFR/GA part much but i guess i need to learn this as well as it is basics and fundamentally. I have study some youtube videos regarding these airspaces and sometimes i find it even harder to navigate and properly plan than IFR. Maybe its me offcause as there must be some good basic rules out here. I have Navigraph charts account so if anyone has the energy to point it will be appreciated. Thanks Michael Moe

I don't know how to eliminate commercials on Youtube but I know how to speed them up 6 or 7 times faster. I happen to use Firefox browser for everything. I installed "Custom Video Speed for Youtube" browser extension (free). l set the hotkeys for speed up and slow down to: - and = ..no doubt other web browsers have similar addon extensions. When a commercial starts to play I just hold down the = key and watch the speed numbers increase in the extension pop up speedometer as the video keeps playing. And the Youtube display of commercial add time remaining now decreases super fast. The talking head selling deodorant or fast food flies by at lightning spee…

AVSIM's Front Page has an important "NOTAM" !!! but it might escape your attention... Starting today, you should login using your email as "User", not the user name. Just logged in using the new method, and it's working fine. The .Org has recently adopted this same procedure.

  19. 1. Many of them have one of the static planes spinning around on its prop. and 2. There seems to be a yellow Penske truck zipping around the airplane parking areas. and 3. There are several non-descript 2 Ton trucks and 18 wheelers zipping around at a fast pace. Are others noticing these as odd things? Is this something the user can control? Regards, Ray

...have so many owed so much to so few. This morning I watched perhaps the greatest air war movie of all time. The Battle of Britain. Such great air battle scenes of Heinkles, ME-109s, Hurricanes and, of course, Spitfires. Of course that was just the beginning. B-17s bombing Berlin. D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, The defeat of word not allowed Germany. Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Iwo Jima, The Philippines, Hiroshima. We call them the Greatest Generation. The generation that produced mine. Have we lived up to the hope they gave us or have we squandered it? Too early to tell just yet. The Jury is till out. My great grandchildren will be the ones who deci…
