:( Some developers are considering dropping their prices significantly if everyone would BUY their products instead of pirating :( . I personally appreciate what the developers have given the flight sim community. I like to buy as much as I can :( , but I don't have the best computer and I don't want to waste money on things I can't run! I think these developers should offer TRIAL versions more often... It may require some work, but if it means people will start buying... I'd say it would be worth it!What do you think?

And this wasn't because Vito Corleone was there to buy some fruit, neither...I tried to get on and look to see if they got any new AI stuff. Lo and behold! A message from Google says it's a "Reported Attack Site", which is a shame, because I love the place and the Q400 AI planes they have...not to mention the comic relief of some of their articles. If this is from the same "Digital Dork" (Yo...Vaffanculo!) who gave Avsim "a kevork", makes ya wonder what crawled up this guy's posterior orifice and bit him. Sfortunato!

Hey Guy's,Remember Graham Waterfield of PSS creators of the Airbus Pro, Boeing 777 etc well looks like they will be coming back this Spring with NEW and improved product's http://www.phoenix-simulation.co.uk/ Look here for a previous review of their old Beoing 777 http://www.avsim.com/pages/0700/b777pss/b777pss/pss.htmlInteresting Antony Waterfield (Grahams son) has now taken over and bought all rights but let's hope both the product's and support are massively improved.Enjoy!Captbdel

i was watching the comedy network and in one sketch they pointed out to me something i thought was just me. the left engine could be on fire and the report to the passengers could simply be, If you look to your right youll see an excellent view of the lake.of course this is an exaggeration but i still find it odd how when they announce things to the passengers they are so calm

I have ordered Windows 7 professional upgrade in order to to take advantage of the special pricing. However I noticed that it is not possible to upgrade 32 bit with 64 bit. I have W7 64 bit RC installed but I have Vista home premium 32 bit on the shelf. I won't be able to reinstall Vista Home premium and then install the upgrade because of this difference. My question is this: can I install the upgrade over top of the RC that I have now? Any help would be appreciated.

I am very much impressed by this guy's work in real time terrain rendering.http://www-evasion.imag.fr/Membres/Eric.Bruneton/Be sure to check out the linked videos on his page. The atmospheric light scattering is just mind boggling. Here's his research article on the maths, which has some real world and rendered comparisonshots at the end: http://hal.inria.fr/docs/00/28/87/58/PDF/article.pdfHere's a downloadable video showing what the scattering effects are composed of: http://hal.inria.fr/docs/00/28/87/58/ANNEX/video.avi This is what FSX XI should have become in my opinion. A pity it ended because of some short sighted higher level management decisions.Christian

I often go flying with my dad who co-owns an SR20 G3 and the one thing I have trouble with is how warm it gets in the cockpit at cruising altitude. I have very limited experience with GA planes and I know most don't have air conditioning because of the additional weight it entails and, from what I know, would only be useful on the ground and not at altitude. The ventilation in his Cirrus is fan powered but the air entering the plane seems much warmer than the ambient air. We could be cruising with an OAT of 26 but the temp inside the plane becomes unbearably warm even with the fan cranked up to its highest speed. Relief only comes when cracking the doors open whil…

Just curious...couldn't find one. Hopefully, this might get moved to an appropriate thread, if it exists. This past Saturday I flew to Phoenix to look at a car and had a pretty good time. Flew United out of KSEA to KSFO and on to KPHX. Takeoff was a bright 6:30am from Runway 34C on an A320, climbout at 180 degrees to the left, towards KSFO, with a peek-a-boo view of KPDX on the way, flying much of the route along the Pacific Coast. Weather was phenomenal with near-zero turbulence. Flew into KSFO to the west of the Golden Gate Bridge, beautifully enshrouded in Bay fog, only its tower tops visible; KSFO was clear, as was nearby Half Moon Bay. We did a hard decel/descent, hoo…

I enjoyed reading the "Chairborne's RL flights recently taken" thread. While I was reading, it occurred to me that it might be interesting to discuss the worst flights we've experienced.I'll start off with one of my worst experiences--entirely related to passengers, not the aircraft or the weather, by the way.In May, 2002, I attended a conference in San Diego. The flights to my destination--CYVR-KSEA in a Dash-8, KSEA-KSNA in a 737--were uneventful. The flights back to CYVR were ... uncomfortable.KSNA was unbelievably busy on the Sunday evening I departed, and boarding the aircraft was painfully s-l-o-w. Not only was it was so soon after 9/11 that security was extreme…

It seems search interest in Flight Simulator at least as gauged by google searcheshas been falling since 2004.http://www.google.com/trends?q=flight+simu...=all&sort=0You can see the yearly Christmas interest peaks and the massive peak when MS released FSX but the downward trend then continued.Given the great reduction in PC cost needed to run a simand number of PCs sold over that time I might have thought otherwise.

Well, I'm sure there are many of us that would like to have a go at driving the real thing, so I thought you might be amused by this one. One of the things me and my wife do for a living is produce artwork for various things, and today my wife, Maxine, was working on the artwork for the Boeing 757 Standard Operating Procedures Pilot's Manual for Thomas Cook Boeing 757s.Anyway, she asked me something about the picture for the cover which they had supplied: 'That's not a 757 is it? Isn't that an Airbus A330?' she enquired.I had a look and said: 'Yup, it is indeed an A330'. I then went on to point out some of the things you could look at to identify it as not a Boeing, even …

I know the aviation bug has finally hit me hard as this is the first time I have seriously thought of going to Air Venture. Well,.... I know I really can't this year but perhaps I should start planning for 2010. After drooling, looking about their website (can't believe they are going to land an Airbus A380 there), I was surprised, dare I say disappointed, that I could not find anything about flight simulation there. I thought for sure I would read about some venues set up to demonstrate our addiction, er... hobby I mean. ;)Why doesn't "FANCON" or simular flightsim conventions team up to have it there? Have the best of both worlds.Clutch
