Hello Avsim members, I have just joined the community after purchasing the game on App-Store. I have since then played it many times, I do have a few ideas which I'm sure many people would agree would make the game much more enjoyable. My ideas are as followed; -Terminal parking, pushback, arrival and departure. -Ability to create your own airline and hire staff. -Ability to press 'seatbelt' sign on takeoff, landing and turbulence. I'm not sure if any of these have been mentioned before but here you go lol. Cheers, Adam

According to ch-aviation, KLM, the last major carrier using the MD-11 plans the last flight for October 2014. http://www.ch-aviati...t-for-late-2014 Please also see post in the Hangar Chat forum - although the thread seems to have been slightly hijacked ! http://forum.avsim.net/topic/425239-klm-to-retire-md-11-in-late-2014/ Rgds, Bruno

Wondering why ANZ are training All Nippon pilots ? Large airline like All Nippon would have their own training program I would have thought. Seems they have a contract though, with ANZ. Unless, they have no spare 747's available. Air New Zealand B747-400 ZK-SUH Operates Christchurch Training Circuit. 31/10/2013 Air New Zealand Boeing 747-475 ZK-SUH operated a Christchurch – Christchurch circuit this morning as NZ6086 as part of a contract to train flight crew for All Nippon Airways. http://www.thenzsource.com/

Three years ago I was quite active here, a reviewer for a bit, but sometimes life has a way of slapping us right out of our hobbies. Anyway, I am once again in a position to consider pursuing flight simulation. I have deliberately not read anything before reporting back in with my "retrodictions" -- things I would have expected to have happened during the last three years. So if I hit any sore points, it is entirely innocent, So, these are my retrodictions 1. After a slow start, Microsoft Flight has gained a respectable following as third party add-ons enhance its appeal to the sim crowd. 2. Level D released its 757 to rave reviews and is the exclusive add-on …

Are (real-world) aircraft able to land (or take off) on Rwy15 as well as 33? A comment I heard from a pilot during a landing at Paro (video downloaded from YouTube - highly recommended) seemed to suggest not. In addition, the only chart I can find (Jeppesen) only shows approaches at 328degs to Rwy33, so I am guessing landing real a/c on Rwy15 is not possible? Everything I have found re. rwy15 by Googling relates to FS9 or FSX! Martin

By 2027, the new airport at UAE, Al Maktoum International Airport is supposed to be bigger than Atlanta. It has just opened, but I had no idea it even existed. http://edition.cnn.com/2013/10/28/travel/dubai-new-airport/index.html?hpt=hp_t2

There are some excellent tutorials on the J41 by a guy calls himself 'T Man' I think. Mmm I have broke the bank today tho.... Daytona Beach to Hollywood....... going well but couldn't get the AP working other that in heading mode so in my cockpit cockup I stalled twice and finally blew up both engines in flight but it turns out the J41 is a bloody good glider..... floated into Melbourne but f!"£$% up the tarmac with a no gear landing. Im ok tho but gona read the manual while Ive got the 172 on auto

Since American Airlines filed for reorganization I don't see how they are allowed to continue buying new jets. I am not up on finance law but I always thought this meant you could not pay the bills you already owe, let alone borrow more. However I am glad they are still flying. Also does anyone know if the merger with USAIRWAYS is still in the works or have the feds pretty much nixed it.

AVSIM has been known for applying leading edge technologies and features to our site for years. One of the things we did was attempt to set up a comprehensive Classifieds system, that has ultimately proved to be more problematic than worthwhile to our members. Therefore, we have shut the Classifieds / Bargain Basement system down and have reopened the forum based versions of both. You can access them through the normal forum index page or you can click on the two links to the right in the HOT SPOTS list. We hope you enjoy the reopening of these two important facilities for AVSIM members.

Ten years ago today Concorde flew commercially for the last time. For any aircraft lover it was a sad day. It is probably the only time in aviation history that mankind took a huge step .... backwards. Although it was not a commercial success it brought a huge amount of pride to British people whenever we saw it in the skies. When it overflew a cricket ground in London in 2003 the crowd applauded. It meant that much to us. I saw it a few times when it flew into Manchester (EGCC) and have been on board G-BOAC when I did the technical tour a few years ago. Here's a good article on the BBC. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-24629451 It's a huge shame that one wa…

Hi guys, I'm trying to find a good site with pilot biographies that'll give me some idea what sort of planes pilots fly on their way to taking us off on holiday in the big tube liners. I'm a relative newbie to flight sims and as an engineering student and former music teacher I'm a firm believer in "learning to walk before you run". I really want to build up my simulated flight hours and progress through aircraft types in a realistic manner and I'm curious as to what exactly is realistic! I'm looking at it from a purely civilian perspective as I have no interest in the military angle. My question is... is it the same for all pilots or are there many exceptions t…

Could someone please enlighten me on how to properly install and configure DX10 for FSX? If you can direct me to the correct files I think I could figure it out. Right now I feel like I am going in a circle and ending nowhere... Thanks. Also if this is the wrong place to post this topic please let me know. I couldn't find another spot that would be better, but I may have overlooked it.

Stumbled across this today and couldn't pass it up at such a low cost, so thought I'd post it here. The sim bundle includes: Trainz Simulator 12 IL2-Sturmovik 1946 Euro Truck Simulator GT Legends Agricultural Simulator 2011 Extended Edition Air Conflicts Secret Wars GTR FIA GT Racing Rig'n'Roll Trainz Simulator: Murchison 2 http://www.bundlestars.com/ Ends November 18 I think. Personally I'm not interested in all of the included sims, but at $4.48 you can't really go wrong! Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong area, but thought here suited best.
