Hi to all Just thought to share this with you Apparently a rare phenomenon to see as it is most of the time obscured by clouds. It is a ultra fast bursts of electricity that happens in the upper regions of the atmosphere, and this one they say might be around 30 miles wide and high. Saw a sprite about 20 years ago, although not as spectacular as this one, and until accidently stumbled on this image, didnt know what the heck i saw. I know it was for real, but WHAT? In any case google it, its just beautiful

I mentioned that during this period of sequestration I was writing about my Marine Corps experiences. Also more stories of my boyhood with my brother Leon. Day 1 is a day every Marine experiences on the first day of boot camp. I have sanitized it as best I could using 'wna' as 'word not allowed'. I hope I haven't missed one. Day One Yesterday the sergeant was smiling and joking with us as he led us to one of those $1.09 steak places on Market Street to buy as all dinner. There were five of us. We had met at the recruiting station that morning and filled out and signed papers and took our oaths of enlistment and did a lot of sitting around just waiting.…

I can't find the Orbx forum here (if there is one) I'll post my question here. When downloading an Orbx scenery or aircraft it sometimes tells me the item cannot be downloaded into the Orbx program but must be downloaded into the library. Where is that library located? Noel

I did not know until recently that there's more to Quora than politics! There is an entire separate section for "Flight and Aerodynamics" Some of the questions, answers and comments are very entertaining and chock full of neat photos. Such as: https://www.quora.com/q/flightandaerodynamics?__ni__=0&__nsrc__=4&__snid3__=14723855072&__tiids__=16514832

Maybe not hypothetical particles. Perhaps PBH's. Primordial Black Holes. Think swarms of mini primordial black holes moving like clouds through the universe. https://www.livescience.com/primordial-black-holes-hunt.html

The European Space Agency has just released a catalogue of more than 300 000 stars that are at a maximum of 100 parsecs (326 light-years) away around the sun. The article : Gaia EDR3 - GCNS - Gaia - Cosmos (esa.int) and a video of a 3D travel through these stars. The vector representation made me think (absurd comparison I know) of the brownian motion . How tiny in our Galaxy is this bubble of stars !

From my earliest childhood years through my college years there were only five people who were really special to me. Three guys and two gals. I just learned that the last of "The Five" passed away on Thanksgiving day. As I sat here feeling sad and a bit sorry for myself I remembered what an old golfing buddy told me years ago.....no matter how bad life may seem at times it's really all OK.....because you're still vertical and breathing. I guess it just takes losing a few old friends to know just how true that is.

Brand new BizJet (9-21-17). Never heard of the company but their two airports don't seem to have high praise. Interior cockpit seems to be cartoonish-looking, like it was made for Wii. Approx $30US. Says it has a dedicated 64-bit version for P3Dv4. http://secure.simmarket.com/nxgn-simulations-citation-cj4x-fsx-p3d.phtml Like the one review I'm a sucker for bizjets

Anybody heard the crazy rules? Bigger gloves, no judges, no winner, each gets a trophy. And get this.... they will be spoken to before the bout and told not to knock each other out. 😁 What a joke. How will they enforce that? As soon as Tyson walks into the ring his adrenaline will be up and he'll go off like an atom bomb. No way will Tyson fight an exhibition match. Cant see the other guy doing it either.

During these times of sequestration I've been doing a bit more writing of my Marine Corps days as I remember them. Sometmes an incident will pop into my mind and I'll write a short story about it. Of course when you are writing about Marines the story will have a number of (word not allowed) in them. I'm cleaning this one up and hope it will pass muster. You've all seen movies about Marine Corps boot camp. It's always about men. Well, women go through boot camp too. This story is about close order drill and I call it The Grinder. It's been cleaned up as far as I can without making the story meaningless. THE GRINDER The grinder was abou…

For those who like to shoot first, and following on from making a Stormtrooper E-11 blaster, I thought I'd have a cheap and cheerful stab at the DL-44, more commonly known as Han Solo's blaster from the Star Wars movies. Here it is now I've finished it: In the movie itself, the prop (or rather props, since there were many of them, not least because they broke during filming and also had to be remade for the follow up films too since they'd been given away at the end of filming the first movie before they knew how much mileage the franchise had in it, so they vary a bit between movies as well) was constructed from a Mauser C96 'Broomhandle' semi-automatic pistol.…

I'm not sure about the provenance of this but it amused me. When Gandhi was studying law at University College, London, a Caucasian professor, whose last name was Peters, disliked him intensely and always displayed prejudice and animosity towards him. Also, because Gandhi never lowered his head when addressing him, as he expected, there were always arguments and confrontations. One day, Mr. Peters was having lunch at the dining room of the University, and Gandhi came along with his tray and sat next to the professor. The professor said, "Mr. Gandhi, you do not understand. A pig and a bird do not sit together to eat." Gandhi looked at him as a parent would a rude child an…
