Body guard for Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise Michael Caine, Kate Moss and others. Awarded the Queens Commendation for Bravery. Awarded the MBE by the Queen at Windsor castle. Incredible story. He had a horrible upbringing in the West Midlands, not too far from where I came from, 25 miles away. I was lucky to be in a better neighbourhood. The Army was the best thing for him.

I was making a flight in the Cub, when a guinea pig decided to climb onto the keyboard. That was the end as I spiraled down into the water. 🙂

Got this wonderful genuine colour film footage recommended on my youtube feed. I would guess it was probably shot on a Bolex since it is pretty good quality. It depicts what would have been mostly either Mark V or Mark IX Spitfires of 64 Squadron although there are also some shots of a Tiger Moth which would probably have been their squadron hack. At this point in WW2, 64 Sqn would have been part of the general effort by the RAF to conduct nuisance raids over Northern France, and possibly low level Rhubarb fighter attacks on targets of opportunity, strafing trains, airfields and such. The idea behind these raids was to send relatively small formations of bombers, ac…

I've been using Google Earth Pro for ages and the airports option was very useful. But I can't see it any more. I'm sure it used to reside under the More option under Layers but isn't there. Am I alone in having this problem or can others see it?

In the real world of flying can you deny a DP or a STAR from ATC and ask for vectors instead? or is this just a nice little ‘gimmick’ used on VATSIM to help a newbie out? im not talking iron flying, I’m talking, TBM930, KA350, etc.

I think I have 50,000 or so. No idea what they are good for. You get them with any purchase of games on Steam.

So there's a massive sale going on for the IL-2 franchise on Steam and I'm debating on picking it up but would like to hear from some how it plays. I'd say I'm looking for something that's loads of fun to play, shoot 'em up but also semi-realistic. I'm not looking for something with a steep learning curve, but definitely have to learn a few things at least. Are there options in-game to do a few things for you, if one likes? (Similar to MSFS assists, although the only thing I turn on is the taxi ribbon and gyro drift, whatever that is). DCS was on my radar too (sorry, not sorry for the pun), but the add-on planes and campaigns are so expensive! Besides, I think I prob…

I love breakfast. It's my favorite meal of the day. Betty has no appetite for breakfast and just wants a bowl of cereal but I have breakfast in three stages. I start with my morning cup of coffee. That's followed by a small bowl of instant oatmeal sprinkled with almond slivers and half glass of hot water with half of lemon squeezed in it. I have that while reading Google news. My main breakfast is perhaps French toast or scrambled eggs with my fruit bowl of fresh cut up apple with a tangerine and a handfull of grapes. A cup of Lapsang Souchon Tea and a half glass of vegetable juice to top it off. Wednesday is egg McMuffin day. I have a different breakfast…

My first thought was cargo loading incident but looks to be a gear issue. Center landing gear seems to be retracted while the wings are still clearly down. Looks like the issue actually began in the air and they returned to Seoul. Apparently it leaked hydraulic fluid onto the tarmac and stripped some tail paint as well. Thankfully no one injured. Also good photo on a-liners.net I can't link due to copyright. https://aviationsourcenews.com/general-news/ups-airlines-boeing-747-400f-tips-its-tail-at-seoul-incheon-airport/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=ups-airlines-boeing-747-400f-tips-its-tail-at-seoul-incheon-airport https://www.aviation2…

I'm personally baffled by this yet simultaneously intrigued... It seems so incomprehensible but early reviews seem promising. LOTS of caveats but fascinating. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2021/10/we-test-geforce-nows-new-3080-upgrade-discover-unmatched-cloud-gaming-power/ https://hothardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-now-rtx-3080-review

I just have to share this. Back in 1967-68 I coached a Little League team in Carmichael, California. One of my players (and a REALLY good one) was a kid named Victor. He had an older brother named Johnnie. And Johnnie was my batting coach. Nobody today knows who Johnnie is. But that's because he's better known by his mother's nickname for him... "Dusty". And his last name is Baker. Yes, Dusty Baker, the current Houston Astros manager, was my team's batting coach. He was a senior in high school then and was being highly recruited by many colleges and universities as well as major league baseball. I remember well his parents wanting so badly for him to go to college. But, …

When my godson was at West Point he told us about an exam question in a military leadership class: A brand-new 2nd Lt. was told to put up a 50-foot flagpole outside the Officer's Club. At his disposal were three privates, one Sergeant, six shovels, two wheelbarrows, four bags of cement, 250 feet of rope, nine stakes, and three hammers. The question was...how to you get that flagpole installed in the next two hours. The cadets provided all kinds of answers. They ranged from a highly technical analysis of the physics involved to a list of options in case of rain. Everyone in the class failed. What was the right answer?..... "Sergeant I'll be back in an WNA ho…

So my company sent me the dreaded "laptop refresh" email followed by a new laptop. I typically dread this process however like MSFS my real world and work world is becoming more and more cloud dependent. So my company instructs me to put both devices on the corporate wifi (we provide corporate wifi for work from home users to provide in office experience without VPN) click the folders I want to migrate, put both laptops on the network and leave them be. They are taking everything off my old laptop migrating it to cloud then pushing it to my new laptop. I was pretty skeptical but an hour later I have two laptops next to each other and they appear identical. It even re…
