Results are very interesting, however to more accurately reflect simmers choices some of the questions need to include the ability to make more than one selection. For example "Are you a member of VATSIM IVAO other etc?" If one is a member of both and is forced to select only one answer then the result is not reliable and can be misleading for either organization.A careful review of the survey will reveal a few other questions that could benefit from multiple or prioritized examples. One more example would be the sim used. Some use FS2002, CFS and Fly. just a thought and really not a big deal.Nonetheless thanks for the feedback

One thing has always been bugging me about the current forum system and the waste of bandwith that goes on every second. BTW, this is not limited to Avsim forum - other forums suffer from the same shortcoming. The idea is simple - to be able to read only the new posts within the old thread without having to download all previously read posts within the thread. It would specially be helpful for those 'monster' thread that can reach 50 or more posts. It is just such a waste of bandwith to have to download 50 (sometimes containing many pics) or more posts to finally read the tiny single post #51.Michael J.

Greetings: This afternoon I received an e-mail from "barrywb" with a subject line of "Questionaire". Upon first examination, "barrywb"'s e-mail address appeared to be [email protected] Further exploration revealed that the e-mail came from [email protected] The text of the e-mail said, "This is an repaint of the Airbus A318. The new livery is from the German "Fly FTI". Attached to the e-mail was a picture, and imbedded in the picture was the Klez.h worm. If you receive one of these e-mails, delete it immediately.Cheers!Rick...

I read the review today and I don't agree with Greg's score as I felt the overall immerision was lacking as well as the graphics. I particularly flew the F15 and F16 in which I felt that pitch moments were way off. The roll rates were too low. G-Limits for the structure could've been brought down lower (Pulling over 7-9Gs with the flaps down). Hello?Thrust performance is lacking as the aircraft don't accelerate in the vertical even though they had stores shown. Which goes onto my next gripe, the balance of the flight with the stores onboard. I don't think they actually modeled the ordnance correctly due to their positions on the aircraft. HiI was just curious if the ads on AVSIM are the type that AVSIM gets money for every time someone clicks on the ads. Is it like that? The reason I am curious is because I know that it costs a lot to keep a kebsite like this running and I thought that if I click on an ad every time I visit AVSIM (like 20 times a day since it's my homepage) maybe it helps. I know that you get something like 0.5 cents per click but if lots of people did that it would make a difference. Right?Just curious.Take careMike

I am currently running the latest version of the Mozilla browser and I am seeing awful flashing problems with the cursor when viewing the main page of Avsim. This started happening with the recent addition of the scrolling banner at the top of the page. I haven't seen this problem when visiting other sites with scroll controls. Is there any of getting rid of this scrolling banner or replacing it with another? As it is now, using the mouse on the page with Mozilla is next to impossible. Thanks!--- Frank ---

I noticed the recent editorial on how to rid yourself of this nuisance, c/o the suggestion by Elrond Elvish. In the UK, Computer Active magazine recommended the following software for the same job,Ad-Aware 5.83available as a free download from www.lavasoftusa.comRegardsPete

Here is some news I haven't seen you post. The wonderful Fokker 50 panel for FS2000 is back for FS2002. See http://home.c2i.net/fokker50/news.htmThis release is much easier to install than under FS2000 since an automatic installer is provided. Realtivel easy to add addtional planes. New features added since the FS2000 release also.Rob Gordon

Hi,Like many Simmers I am also into flying radio controlled model planes. Do you have any dowloads of any models with model flying characteristics. This maybe a new download section to consider as model sismulators are growing in popularity but lack the depth of FS2002.

Your invitation for the Reno conference on your home page seems to be sponsored by some firms. I see changing ads from them, a.o. Aerosoft. On this ad I saw (a part of) a A/P stack. I can't find it on their website however. Can you tell me if this is a commercial product and if so who is selling it?Thank you in advance for answering.

They were interesting for about an hour or so, but Sonar5 and others have taken this over the edge. It's in the FS forum for God Sakes!!!! Can't they take this to email? It's only two guys bantering back and forth about their political OPINIONS. Unfortunately, I posted once in the thread, and now I get 80-90 emails of krap updates! Can we please lock the "pledge" and "vouchers" email! Thank you, this is not sim related stuff, in the slightest. I was tolerant of it in the shortrun, but send them over the to the New York Times site for Pete's sake!Thank you, Long time simmer (15 years)Long time Avsim member (3+ years)Christopher Michael BraunP4 1.8768 ram 80 gig hardriveVi…

Hi, I read your review on the subject program, you seem to like it. I have have the program since November last year, and have yet to get it to work. It is "slow" "jerky" and in my opinion a piece of junk. I have been advise by Ubisoft that my video card was to small so I replaced it with a 32 meg. and that my cpu is to slow AMD Duron 650. Mayby I should borrow a computer from Norad!!!Again I find it a slow difficult to load , and poor graphics. Thanks

First, let me compliment you on your site - its the BEST. Now for some positive feedback. When downloading now, why must I agree to the license agreement for each download. Why not present the license agreement as the first thing when I go to the file library. This way, I only need to agree to it once during the download session. Second, have of the descriptions of your downloads make no sense, except only to the person who posts the upload. I also would like to be able to select multiple file for downloads, and then, execute the download process. This would save a lot of time, and definitely make it easier. I would also suggest that you start looking into setting …

Encounters with what are being termed 'Internet Trolls' are much more of a nuisance in some other bulletin boards, But I'd suggest that if administrators here haven't evaluated, identified or classified activities in certain cases as the work of such 'trolls', then the information in the link below may assist in defining appropriate strategies. It also describes the phenomenon in some detail:Internet Trolls explained Being aware of their disruptive motives and responding accordingly goes some considerable way to disabling the effectiveness of these individuals and sustaining a positive environment in the forums.Just thought the info may help.Chris.

Matt and / or Tom...Many "Fellows" seem to have the habit liking to flame Forums insulting the hard work or members. In general this isnt liked very much, especially when it gets personal and is unreasonable ....Why not offer them a playground ? ( course they might not use it )But maybe theres a possiblity for "Moderators to "bin" flame posts in such a forum to keep their forums clean for the intended use..not sure about the technical issues of this forum software it is at all possible but this way those "fellows" might get the "attention"or not but they dont bother anybody but the moderator :)Just an idea - maybe not a good one - but at least one to consider a secondsugg…

I was just denied access to your forums because i use a yahoo email account. I pay yearly to keep that account and do so because, although my isp's have changed over the years, it allows me to keep a constant email for upgrades, purchasing online, etc. I do purchase a lot online, and unfortunately, some vendors have taken to forums for product support. eg:FDC My yahoo account is NOT anonomous (sp) They have my full name and address, and same was provided to your forums registration. As I stated earlier, my yahoo account is NOT FREE......I pay for it.

I just wanted to drop a line to the guys and gals that make AVSIM the wonderful site that it is. I never realized how much fun flight siming could be until I found your site. Over that past few months I have downloaded lots of information and files that has really enhanced my flying experience. Thanks again and keep up the excellent work. :)
