Dear AllCan you tell me what's happened to Game Commander ?Are they still in business ?I have been trying to get through to them for 6 weeks without success ( although there was a notice about 'staff holidays' within this period ).Their tech support shows 'internal server error' if you try to send a query, and e-mails go unanswered.I thought this was a good product and would be sorry to see it go. However I also feel they are being a little unfair to their customers.Do you know what the situation is ?john Ammundsen

I can't think of anyone more worthy of receiving the awards than Richard Harvey or Pete Dowson. !!

Hopefully I can state this opinion in a pleasant enough way so that flames will not be needed, but one never knows . After many years in this hobby and a fair amount of real world aviation experience I find myself in a quandry over aircraft design.I am often frustrated by the time and 'HYPE" needed to launch a final product by many of our truly fine design groups. I impatiently wait for their latest releases and find myself wondering "HOW" it can take so long - knowing full well why it does. The good thing being - I am almost always tremendously satisfied with the end product. On the other hand, GMAX has brought us an assortment of fair designers who work quickly and are v…

I would like to have some airplanes painted for me with an orginal paint scheme. If I wanted to have this done by way of a contest on this site (for example post this contest in the aircraft design forum), would that be okay?Damon

Its sometimes hard to tell what simulator and addons prodused a screenshot. Apparently many people posting screenshots mistakenly assume screenshot forum visitors are familiar with all the scenery and aircraft available.I suggest the addition of a request for the addition of information identifying the simulator (with version), vehicle (aircraft, train etc), and scenery (route for train sims) to the "guidelines" for screenshot forum posts.

I have read the FAQ on image posting but I still dont get it. Yes, I did get a bunch of numbers and letters in the 'attachment' box at the bottom... now what? I did this about a year or so ago, but it seemed clearer back then (before the forum format change).I preview the post and nothing comes up, I cup and paste that stuff into the message box and preview, nada.just what exactly do you do AFTER is shows up in the 'attachment' box at the bottom.Signed, Frustrated(after my GMAX fiasco, FS2k panel mod disaster and now finally this, this is one bad evening for me)

Just wanted to tell you guys that I really appreciate your reviews with less than state-of-the-art equipment. The BBMF review is one example. I believe it helps those of us who run an average system determine if it is capable of running the software. And those with all the latest goodies will know if it can be run on a slower system, they certainly won't have any problems. I wish more reviewers did this. Thanks again,Todd

I downloaded the tahoe mesh software to use in practicing for the tahoe contest. Try as I might, I cannot find anywhere to put this file. Could you please be more specific as to where to put this file and maybe a description of how to make the file move? Thanks.Buzz [email protected]

Indeed it is a nice article posted by Extreme Tech about the ATI8500, but it tells nothing at all about using this videocard with the MSFS2002...When you really want to know something more about this matter please go to:http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/hardware/reviews/atiradeon8500/Games tested here: Falcon 4.0 Patch: SP2 Flanker 2.5 Patch: None Jane

There's a typo in the link to the HJG, the correct link should be:http://hjg.avsim.net/ , not http://hlg.avsim.net/

Does anyone at AVSIM watch TechTV? The show "The Screensavers"? It would be great to invite them to the AVSIM conference. Their studio/office is in San Francisco and they are owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. They could give our beloved hobby fantastic international TV exposure! Please contact them at www.TechTV.com or at www.TheScreensavers.com. Maybe they could even devote an entire week to flight simulation (wishful thinking); showing homemade cockpits, Aerosoft and GoFlight hardware, VATSIM, DreamFleet, interviews with the folks behind AVSIM & FS2002... all kinds of stuff. I have emailed them about this, and I hope others will as well!!!(email campaign?)Pu…

Since noone responded to my previous post, I decided to fix the code myself. In the main page's source, please modify the countdown script as follows:else if (document.all||document.getElementById)crosscount.innerHTML="" // ADDED, FDj to fix for MSIE 5.2.1 for Mac OS Xcrosscount.innerHTML=opentags+dday+ " days, "+dhour+" hours, "+dmin+" minutes, and "+dsec+" seconds left until "+occasion+closetagsThe innerHTML needs to be cleared before setting it anew to work around a bug in this version of MSIE. There are still weird effects with the script, but it's much better than it was. Thanks,Florian

In your leader for Just Flight Dambusters you state "Experience the first home computer simulation of 617 Squadron's epic raids of World War II". FYI there was a dambusters simulation complete with lancasters and bouncing bombs for the Commodore 64 back in the late 1980s. You took off, fought your way past all the enemy fighters, switching from nose to tail turret as necessary, then took over as bomb aimer to drop the bouncing bomb. Commercial software. Just thought you might like to know - and the Commodore 64 surely counts as a home computer.Cheers

Over the last week or 10 days, I have noticed that when I hit my "Avsim" shortcut, NS6 will lock up in about one out of three tries, requiring the three-finger salute to shut NS down. This is a new behavior, and to my knowledge nothing has changed on my end, so it seems like something has changed on yours.I am 90% sure it's in your Java code.Just wanted to let you know...Dave BlevinsKRHV

Tom and Crew, being a daily reader of AVSIM for over 3 years and loving your site in general, I have something to rant about. I never post anything, though I read the forums several times a day.rant mode on --The way you promote the AVSIM conference on your site is - mildly put- absolute overkill!1)Two or three headlines a day on the front page2)A countdown counter on the forum pages the screws up older browsers3)Weekly x-forum posts. It gets really annoying and is considered as NOISE as far as I am concerned. You have to remember that MOST readers are NOT able to attend simply because it is clearly not in their 'neck of the woods'.While a wish the conference to be a succes…

The countdown timer seriously upsets MSIE 5.2.1 on Mac OS X. The blue background it sits on is about three screens high here. I recommend you try loading the site on a Mac once and please fix it.Thanks!-Florian
