I pre purchased FS2024 and installed it day 1.  Gave up on it pretty quickly with all the server issues but started diving in again a few days later.  Still very hit and miss but still curious enough to try FS2024 occasionally.  I still have FS2020 installed and use that for most of my serious flying.  I am starting to feel that FS2020 is dated especially in the flight dynamics area but all the bugs sort of ruin it still.  I am confident they will get it right but I will not be surprised if it takes 6 to 12 months!

  • Stil using MSFS 2020 : because Prosim and  Wideview are not MSFS 2024 compatible. But : reading all issues I am happy that I did not switch yet…

  • Becoming a beta tester wasn't in my plans, so I stayed with 2020.

  • From now on, let's all only post on subjects that interest me. Thank you for your cooperation.

I will go to the ’24 but not in the near future. When it is working better and my favourite add ons for the air and maritime traffic will work with it, I will give it a try.

Yesterday I had nice flights in Sweden and Portugal with 2020 and I am perfectly happy with it.

I uninstalled MSFS 2020 last summer and am using MSFS 2024 exclusively.

As I wrote in the other topic.

Tested MSFS 2024 mainly career mode.   Like it a lot.   Did not try the free flight yet and did not copy any of my addons yet.  Played purely vanilla MSFS2024 which I liked. I must say they did something to the feeling of altitude in those GA flights.  When I was flying primarly with that Cessna  there were moments where I was really thinking I am in that plane and I am relly in the skies.  Must say did not had that feeling with MSFS 2020 at all.

Anyway due to those FPS drops and stuters that many other users have too , and due to that online streaming  where some building looks like they are from Minecraft  ( I have only 40Mbit wifi in my village 😢 )  , I stopped playing  MSFS 2024 for now. Waiting for fix from Asobo ( today there should be some for those FPS drops and stuters ) and waiting for mid of January to buy new Graphics card RTX 4070 TI super with 16GB. This game needs all the VRAM I can get .  Currently running RTX 3060 TI and those 8GB are just not enough at all.

So returned back to MSFS2020 , bought On-Air Company to simulate that career from MSFS2024 😄  and planning to buy FSHud to have some ATC.   And on top of that A350 should be soon out for MSFS2020 , looks like I will stay with it for a few more months. Thinking about till spring ( march/april ) and than I will give MSFS2024 another try / chance.

But for now happily enjoying MSFS2020 with On-Air company.

I'm mainly flying PMDG, so MSFS 2020 is my main sim. I use MSFS2024 here and then for GA/VFR flights and to get used to its menu and controller settings.

Yeah, I know that feeling. I think it's because of the way the lighting fills the atmosphere. I think they really nailed it this time. 👌

MSFS2024 exclusively since day one. I miss one of two of the addons which haven't been converted yet but apart from that, this is the best flight simulator I have ever used. No issues at all. I only fly GA.

I had uninstalled FS 2020 long ago, so I use only FS 2024, but other than the initial "WOW" with the scenery, which is just great, interest in the new sim is now mainly for playing the Challenges or Activities for a few minutes before some other RW task...

I will stay with FS 2024 only, and use only one aircraft add-on - the Fenix A320.

Was considering the FSLabs 321, but I don't know if I will continue to invest in FS 2024 and I have what is already a great Airbus for the basic use I give to it...

The prop aircraft I purchased for FS 2020 and have been automatically ported to FS 2024 behave even worst than in FS 2020, as the Carenado V33 Bonanza which appears to be affected by the same bug that presently plagues twin or multi props in XP12, and the FI Spitfire which is even more unrealistic in the takeoff 😕

I use FS 2024 to show places of the World to my nephew 🙂

I also pre purchased MS2024 Premium edition but have not downloaded it yet.

I expected it to have issues at the beginning but not as bad as some are reporting so glad I made the decision. MSFS2020 still looks amazing to me so happy to plod along for the foreseeable future.

MS 2024 is half baked and needs about another 6 months to a year to be considered acceptable. Have they even opened up the MP on that platform yet? I find streaming majority of content from the servers unacceptable to me and I have 300 MBPS up and down on my internet with a average latency of less than 10ms on multiple (test) servers. They have a ways to go to impress some of us folks.

I have actually downloaded the Standard version of 2024 for £1. I've had it for 5 days now and as yet have failed to complete a single flight.

It certainly looked amazing when it worked and to be fair, my bandwidth is pretty medieval, so that doesn't help. And how different the whole experience is compared to 2020 for some reason..... that you really have to start from scratch again.

However, in the meantime, in 2020 I've flown across the Atlantic, done many successsful flights all over Europe and the Arctic, and just enjoyed just how amazing 2020 looks nowadays and how great the performance is in the Fenix(s), iFly, PMDGs, FBW Airbus, E190, BS King Air etc.

Rex Active Sky, Atmos, Map Replacement and FSTL (OK extra cost) have also ensured that 2020 will hopefully have life for many years to come.

A streaming platform just will not work, for me at least ...

Stil using MSFS 2020 and will eventually buy 2024, but probably not before SU2 or SU3.

I'm running a 3060TI on a 1440p ultra widescreen monitor, all setting to medium/high. I capped my frames to half the refresh rate of my monitor (=30 fps)

Cockpit avionics refresh rate set to "high".

I see GPU utilization between 70 and 90%. No stutters.

I dip in and out of MSFS24 but it's botched early release has ruined the franchise for me, the blatant disregard for VR users by Asobo is another reason to avoid playing at times.

So much so that I don't even load MSFS2020 and last night bought A N Other flight sim where the developer clearly recognises and respects VR users, so I'll be in that until MSFS2022 (!) finally gets the fixes it needs and it becomes at least on level par with it's predecessor.

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

Sticking with MSFS 2020 for the moment, and looking forward to lots of enjoyable flights over the Christmas holidays. Please do not be concerned about this. I will not miss what I do not have
