Have You Flown The A400M ATLAS In MSFS 2024?

Featured Replies

If not you should.  It is an excellent aircraft.  Study level.  FM, Systems and Automation work well.  After you fly it come here and tell us what you think of it.  If you are already flying it, please tell us your thoughts and if you don’t fly it, please share your reasons here.  As for me?  I’m flying right now in the ATLAS!

Haven't, but since you mention it, I'll surely try it at my next sim slot !

Thx for the thumbs up to the A400M 👍

Bit of a disaster in VR, cockpit way out of scale. Miltech don't know why but are looking at it.

Why would Miltech be looking at it? It's an IniBuilds aircraft.

The C17 is Miltech.

Yes I sat in the C17 last night in VR and it had massive oversized instruments so you’re probably thinking of that particular military transport.

The A400 is one I’ve been keen to try , I had a Quick Look at it but right at the beginning before I’d assigned my controls properly so only had control of 2 engines so didn’t get far.

i found it taxied nicely, with a lovely nod of its head when applying the brakes to a stop

A400 is quite nice and amazing for an included aircraft.  Only downside is the external sounds are a bit underwhelming (which seems to be the case for all of the INI aircraft in FS24), hopefully that’s something they can improve as they’ve done on other aircraft of theirs.

There is a known issue with it and subzero temperatures. If you cold and dark when it is below zero, the throttles will advance, the marker on the displays will advance, but the engine power will not advance.

Turning off live weather and having the temps above freezing fixes it.

Haven't flown it in a week or so - still working my way through all the new aircraft!

Very much enjoyed it - pretty much exactly the type of aircraft which interests me (like the C-17): big, complex, goes everywhere in the world without worrying about "real world airline routes", and can operate from ridiculously short runways. Wait - it doesn't even need runways!!!

Oh, and it's a turboprop, to boot - almost heaven!!

The great thing is that iniBuilds poured a LOT of their Airbus experience into it, and it really shows.

Flight model seems representative and "feels" good. I remember it might be a little too sharp on it's roll rate, but it does out-handle other large aircraft, so that might be accurate.

Folks may wonder "why" fly this, but when you see a few videos of what A400s and C-17s can do when they're NOT being flown like airliners, you realize you have the cure for ANY tubeliner boredom you might ever experience. Just hit the Mach Loop or the SideWinder route (or any of the literally hundreds of MTRs around the world) and spice up your day.

Apologies, I got the wrong aircraft!

I tried it briefly, but the sounds work broken for me. It flew ok, but no engine sounds at all.

I made a Video of a real A400 starting up and it is not as impressive as i would have guessed

There are working engine sounds so it could be on your end.

I've only managed 2 full flights. It like to freeze sim for some reason. Only way to fix it is to clear the WASM folder after every flight.

Have done a couple full flights in VR. It behaves, sounds and looks amazing! Love it.

Yep, I have that issue as well. Will freeze the entire sim but sound will still play.
