Bonanza Turbo V3 RELEASED

Just tried for first time (V3) and got a CTD when trying to load an approach while on a FP heading to the IAF. First time have gotten a CTD ever. Maybe a bug in the G1000 mod.

PLEASE, PLEASE, run any mod that's new to you on its own, then combine other mods in the community folder. That is the only way to properly identify what is going on. I can assure you that V3 was tested exhaustively and never caused a crash to my knowledge. Not once. Crashes can occur for many reasons: scenery: sim glitches, clashing mods, loss of connection if on rolling cache data, bugs in the  sim - the list is endless. If you open a new project in developer mode then click on console, you'll find hundreds of bugs or badly-loaded or missing modules in the sim itself. They are all marked in red: hundreds of them!

Had a great flight over Southern California with the V3 mod, from KAVX to L35. Great work and thank you again!

Yeah Robert...that is a great tip turning on console in dev mode after creating a project.  In these "Wild West" days of the early life of the sim, the only way to safely rule out an addon causing the issue is remove all the ones in the community folder (as painful as that's getting to be just because of the sheer number, and the mods to handle that very task itself can also be suspect), have a very standard and easy flight to replicate exactly, and run that every time after added a mod (unless the sim CTDs at startup of course).

In fact I thought I acquired the dreaded CTD bug that everyone's attributing to the latest patch to...strangely enough, fix that very issue.  Could replicate a CTD every time by taking off from BUR, fly straight to Catalina...and when I neared KLAX...BAM...cya...
I was sure I was suffering from the issues in the post "Large airports causing issues" or something like that.  Then I read a few pages into that post...saw that a lot of folks were pointing the the very beautiful Locher (that I even flew in a Group Flight with @cavaricooper...worked fine...go figure).  As soon as I took that scenery out...4 successful flights in a row right over KLAX.

I have not had a single issue with the Bonanza, once I figured out my Flight model inexplicably changed from Modern to Legacy....that one I'm still scratching my head over....but I think the patch really did cause that one somehow.🙄

I'd also add to troubleshoot CTDs...take out everything sticking in a USB port (except maybe the mouse and KB), see if that at least stops the CTDs, then you at least know.

Finally....everything...I mean everything that is "overclocked" in your system, CPU, GPU, Memory...make it stock freqs for testing....even if a "turbo" mod of something comes with the hardware and the manufacturer proclaims you can "safely" OC to this freq.  Trust me...I've fixed a few PC issues in my career with that one....and the person's 1st reaction is "I never thought OC'ing by even 100Mhz would cause this much trouble in a app".  Well...some apps are way more sensitive to freq mods than others, that is a documented fact. 😉

lol fair enough - must be some other PC gremlins at work then!  Gotta love the unpredictability of PCs!  "it was working fine yesterday"  🙂

LOL...funny story...A few years back I learned a new coding tool at work to help automate testing tasks and we also found it could help with other productivity things.

Anyway, after a 2 week-long class with the vendor teaching us the basics...every new day brought someone's code they were working on to a halt...with by the end of the week we actually adopted that phrase as the class motto! 🤣

It's literally the running joke between us now when we call each other for help with code that we're stuck on getting past a particular snippet...the person calling with the problem is obligated to open his conversation with "Well, it was working yesterday" 🤪

See my tips above and try them if you can.  As far as the new V3 mod taking up more resources...I didnt see that at all.  Since you noticed it at sim startup, you took that mod out and restarted to check results I imagine?

And as we say in the computer world (Since I live in it at work as well), the only predictable thing about PCs is their unpredictability. 😉

That is crazy. Just tried same scenario in the Baron this time and same result - no approach(es) listed for AVX from L35. Wonder why none are showing up? Only plane mods running are the WT's latest and Turbo Bonanza V3.

Sorry you are having problems. Try removing all mods then seeing what happens. I hate saying "reboot" because usually it is useless, but in the case of this sim, occasionally when things have disappeared, restarting windows 10 has helped, maybe owing to some cached settings.

and RESTART is the key here not shutdown ... shutdown in Win10 actually does a partial hibernate and "remembers stuff" .  Restart actually shuts down and restarts.

I have a medium to decent system, and I UNDER-clock. I'm pretty sure that is partly why I almost never get a crash with anything. But I don't notice the underclock. It actually makes barely 1-2 frames difference in most 3d apps, and sometimes none at all. I think over-clocking is over-rated, unless you have a very carefully tuned factory over-clock from a very good supplier who knows what they're doing.

Tried this Turbo G36 V.3 almost everything is fine for 2 flights at 16.000ft, also the climb and cruise numbers seem real, very good autopilot and improved Working Title G1000. I'd love to have a working complete anti ice system.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

For some strange reason I am having big engine performance problems with the Turbo G36 V.3 installed.

I have removed all mods from my Community folder with only the Bonanza-Turbo-V3 folder in there.  The mod appears to be installed as I have the different liveries and the steering is much tighter on the ground compared to the default Bonanza.

My problem is when reaching between 5000 and 6000 feet the speed starts dropping off from 130 kts to about 115 kts with both the Manifold press at 29.6 and the RPM at 2700.  I have pitot heat on although I'm flying using the Clear Air weather pre-set so shouldn't be in icing and a 4 kt headwind.  At this altitude with the aircraft flying straight and level, engine at max power (29.6 and 2700 rpm) my speed is only about 115 kts, so I cant climb without fear of stalling.  The aircraft is quite light with only half a tank of fuel and 2 POB's with default weight, carb heat closed.

I have read the included PDF and all setting seem ok, what am I doing wrong ?

Are you adjusting your mixture? You have to lean it out as you climb.

As Tektolnes says above, as you mentioned everything except mixture, I would say that is the problem, especially as nobody else has the problem.
Too rich really stifles the engine power.

I cruised at 8800 yesterday on the way to Big Bear, and it was fine, holding about 140 knots at 23 and 2300 if I recall correctly, but my mixture was pulled back to just above 50%.

I don't use the new G1000 engine gauge at the moment as I am getting a few lags and slow re-draw issues with the G1000 mod, but I generally pull it back to 75% within minutes of taking off from anywhere at sea level.

Taking off from Big Bear (at about 6000 feet I believe) would require it to be leaned on take off even, or you just won't make the power.
