November 13, 20205 yr Here’s the link to the turbo normalized operation from the Tornado Alley Turbo website to supplement and confirm Robert’s notes in the read me guide with the release: https://taturbo.com/turbooperation.html There’s also an Airplane Flight Manual Supplement that goes into even more detail: http://www.malusflyers.com/Malus_Flyers/Malus_Flyers_files/AFMS-550 Rev H.pdf Edited November 13, 20205 yr by Cmcollazo71

November 14, 20205 yr Commercial Member I'm truly enjoying V3. The lower control authority at low airspeeds on final approach is well-tuned. One question for anyone who knows about the real-world turbo kits for the Bonanza: I was surprised to see that the reference cruise data in the PDF Robert included are usually specified at or near wide open throttle. Is it normal to cruise at wide open throttle in the Bonanza? My only real-world experience is in fixed-prop trainer aircraft (Piper Warriors and Archers), where it's standard to reduce the throttle to achieve cruise RPM. Even in a constant speed prop, wouldn't cruising at wide open throttle cause more wear and tear on the engine?

How and when did you get hold of a 3080? I am well-jell! 🙂 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's. Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

I am well-jell! 🙂 The 3080 was my trigger to buy a new PC, Overclockers UK kept them back and told me there 3080 were for PC builds, I forget the date but it was a 2pm release time, I was about the first an get to order in at 2.03pm and order for the PC in my sig below and out of the 15x 3080 they were getting, I was allocated one. The PC is unbeliever able its makes no noise, none. Zero. But anyway that's how I got one. I could of waited for a 3080Ti but then you can wait for ever as there is always better coming, I waited 2.5 years, the 3080 was the trigger. Edited November 14, 20205 yr by Nyxx David Murden. Buy a Lamborghini Aventador and you likely will still have one of the faster cars in your home town 10 years later. You cannot really say that about PC upgrades. Basically buy what will keep you happy for the next 2 to 3 years and budget to upgrade after that 😄 In the end PC gaming is a relatively cheap hobby compared to things like renovating a house, having teenagers, resorting vintage cars, joining a golf club, keeping a horse, overseas travel (pre COVID) or even model trains were one locomotive can cost $10,000 . Compared to hobbies like restoring vintage warbirds (which an online friend once said was the "fastest way known to mankind to turn large fortunes into vastly smaller ones" ) it's pocket money. I went to many turbo-owners websites and turbo manufacturers, and the comments there had a significant number of customers saying they saw no advantage in climbing with less than wide open throttle, and that there were no particular maintenance or engine-wear issues doing so. But the cruise is a different matter, with many variations in power reflecting some owners' wish for fuel economy. They indicate wide open throttle (WOT) and only prop RPM (2300 - 2500 range in cruise) and mixture are adjusted in climb and cruise. Descent, approach and landing differ of course and that is in the documents too. I also had my doubts and those documents were a result of my research.

Yep, in fact the Taturbo link specifically says: Quote Many pilots are mistakenly concerned that they will operate the engine at too high of a traditional "percentage" power setting, by cruise operations with the throttle in the WOT position. This concern is misplaced, for the reasons discussed below. Edited November 15, 20205 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick

Economy climb is WOT with MIX pulled back to achieve a LOP climb (generally used to save gas and extend range for longer trips). Once at cruise Throttle back to 2500RPM (can bump that up a bit to push it) and pull MIX back to LOP. SAR Pilot. Flight Sim'ing since the beginning.

Although many said that they effectively control fuel flow as much with the rpm lever as with the mixture lever, as at high altitudes it has almost as much an effect on leaning as the mixture does!
