PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

I have accidentally disengaged the autopilot was investigating various operations on the 747. I have yet to figure out how to re-engage it. I have tried using the "Z" key, the buttons on the dash, and the yoke button. I keep keeping the siren going off and the message "autopilot disconnect" on the display. The manual covers the "autopilot disconnect" occurrence but does not really say how to recover, unless I have missed it completely. What is the proper procedure for re-engaging the autopilot? Thanks.

First, I really like the 747 just out. My only problem is when I am in the Captain's seat, I only see the runway and scenery. I don't have any images of the cockpit. I get the cockpit images when I am in the FO seat. All the other cockpit images seem to work fine, except while in the captain's seat. Any suggestions on what I might have done wrong?

I just installed the new PMDG 747. I'm using P3D v3.4. I'm not getting any altitude settings on the FMC Leg pages after setting up a route, and thereby, no V-speeds are being calculated. (I also own PMDG 777 and NGX 737 - and have never had this issue with those) All 3 IRS are set to NAV and are initialized PERF INIT page has FL360 - and all other fields are initialized I ensured departure and landing runways were selected - and that there were no route discontinuity issues Flaps set to 10 on TAKEOFF REF page I loaded the 747-400 with engines running. Hi folks I just downloaded that masterpiece of PMDG beast and wanted to try it straight away. I have lots of hours experience of manual landing the PMDG 777-200LR, successfully......but that "Queen of the Skies" makes me a bit crazy.....I explain: Running on FSX 747-400 Cathay RR-Engines. Payload 75%, Aproaching an airport with 11000 Lbs Fuel left on board, side-wind about 17 knots, Runway 8558 feet long. Autobrake 3, Approach Speed 144 knots. Everything looks good until the beast is touching down to the runway (Autopilot off and autothrottle off at about 1000 ft above ground). Hey everone First flight on this amazing aircraft, but one quick question and problem: I set a minimums baro just to try it out and wanted to delete it with the RST button. Nothing happens. PFD still shows my minimums baro. Any advice? Greetings, Franz

Dear PMDG, Thank you for the 747v3 (or II), it is without a doubt a wonderful aircraft with great performance! I have one quick notice. Maybe I am wrong, but I have been in the 747 cockpit quite some times and I googled some images as well, and I am wondering if the upper part of the main panel isn't a little too brown? Hi All i use two monitors for my flying, my second monitor is just used to show things like active sky, flight plans and vas monitor software the problem i am having if i click on to my second screen then back to my main screen which shows my flight sim none of the switches or knobs work. Hi PMDG, I am so excited to have this bird! Haven't done much with her yet apart from set up cameras, PFPX, options etc. Looking around the VC - stunning detail!! Sounds amazing. I love that there is also an automatic FUEL/TANK ENG too! I cannot wait to take her for a spin. Of course you release before I have two very long shifts and a wedding to go to first. Maybe I can get out of the wedding? Anwyay - the question is - are you planning on releasing the FCTM with this bird as well, or is there a reason it is not included? Cheers, An excited Rudy

hey i can seen to make mouse macros using fsuipc for the over head light switches. i can for some other inputs like dome light or engine start but none of the landing lights strobe etc. any one know a fix. Thanks

Towards the end of the flight, on approach, selected the first flap setting and suddenly I could not click on any other buttons/control in the VC cockpit. Yoke and throttle continued working. Brought up 2d panel for MCP and clicking there worked. After that was able to click inside cockpit but then couple minutes later same issue. This time 2d panel didn't fix it. Downer after a long flight. Ezdok stopped accepting shortcut buttons as well. Any ideas? Ilya FSX

So I was playing around with the systems last night. I was trying to shut down the recirc. fans while doing the pre-flight as they are quite loud. When pressing the recirc. fan switches to off, it doesn't seem to shut them off, or at least if it does, the sound still appears to have them running. The only way it seems to shut them off(at least soundwise), is to shut off the utility buses. After reading the manual, I'm under the impression that they can be turned off by either the recirc. switches or by the utility bus switches. Am I right on this, or is the noise I hear another fan that the utility bus operates? I know it works this way on the NGX. Otherwise there …

Hi all, anyone have reference to Powering up/engine startup from Cold & Dark on this baby? Tried the Tutorial section from where the flight ended at KSFO but to no avail. PS: I did not fly the tutorial flight - I just selected Cold and Dark from the CDU menu. Rgds, Steve

Is there a way to somehow like map or program the PTT under the map light to a Vatsim pilot client like vPilot? It would be super cool to be able to do that.

I've noticed in the FMS menu when I ask for the nose or left side cargo doors to open, they just don't. I went back to doing other preflight stuff, and a few minutes later I look up, and the doors are both open as I had requested earlier. Now I am trying to close them and nothing happens. I would fly the 777 and when I am doing flying I always record How much fuel I used up. When I began flying the new 747-400 QOS II, I would complete a trip and when I turn the engines off the total fuel, in the FMC would erase the total fuel quantity and in the 777 it wouldn't erase until you turn back on the engines to complete another flight. Hey guys! Just downloaded the 747, and I was wondering if there is any type of auto save or anyway in general to recover from a sim crash? Would saving the flight like normal in FSX allow it to be reopened at cruise with all panels working same as before? Appricite any insight! Thanks David McDonough
