PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

Hi, I seem to be having an issue (only with the 747v3) where the texture darkens where the wing of the plane begins. This happens on all of the variants I have tried of the 747v3. On take off with VNAV armed an subsequently engaged on completing the memory items for an engine severe damage scenario the auto throttle disconnects. On three engines it should not (THR REF should remain engaged). As it's in 'VNAV SPD' pitch cycling the A/T ARM switch should re-engage the auto throttle but it does not. Has anyone else experienced this? Might be a bug.

Hi, yesterday, just out of curiosity, I tried to play with the Flight Control shutoff switches and Split System breaker switch on the upper overhead panel (on the ground), but as I flipped the switches nothing happened (and no EICAS messages at all). Are they functional? Thanks.

From my memory of the old PMDG for FS9, I remember there being performance tables for nearly everything we ever needed. I was wondering if there is any source or if i've missed a document with such for the new release. If the aircraft models and engines have been accurately represented, the data must therefore be available? This is study level sim, and so just doing TOGA takeoffs or using the 10/20% derates is a bit noddy. I want to be able to calculate the accurate Speeds and Derate Assumed Temp for the runway length and atmospheric conditions on the day. Looking thoug the various hydraulic failures you can set, I notice that there is a failure called 'Rat Deployed'.... It's greyed out. I wasn't aware the 747 had a Ram Air Turbine? Is this correct, does it apply to a specific aircraft/engine type? Curious.... It's not a leftover from the 777 is it? Adam Turley

Hello, I did my first full flight with the bird yesterday, short hop from SFO to ORD. I noticed some interesting things happen during the flight. 1. There was a warning on almost the whole flight saying "<fuel tank/eng" or something like that. Not sure what that means or how to turn it off, messed with the fuel system a little and didnt turn off. 2. I was getting the fuel imbalance warning the whole flight. Brought up the fuel display that showed all the tanks, and nothing was imbalanced. Again I tried messing with the pumps and cross feeds, but the warning never went away. 3. No stars or runways showed up for me in the FMC for ORD. I havent had time to confirm if that…

Dear, First of all, thanks for this wonderfull aircraft! Such a joy to fly, and it surely represents the standard and details of PMDG! Fantastisc work! I do have a small problem. When changing view (mostly going in or out the cockpit) everything freezes for +- 20-30 seconds. Ultimately this sometimes triggers a crash. I'm using the B744 V3 in P3DV3.3 (Going to update to 3.4 shortly). Edit: Updating to 3.4 did not fix this problem... Thanks for investigating! Kindest regards,

Has anyone else noticed this yet? Yesterday I did my first flight in the B747. During the flight I tested the performance options and ended up with the F/O's displays disabled. Some time later in cruise I saved the flight in order to come back to that scenario some other day. Was flying from the left-hand seat and used the onside CDU (left) only. Today I reloaded that flight but the left CDU remained blank. I opened the offside CDU popup (right) and all my data was there, so I could continue my flight. Hi, First of all, many thanks to the PMDG team for this incredible aircraft, absolutely amazing :smile: I just have a "small" issue when I try to load the panel-state "LONG". When I select this panel-state and press EXEC, the gpu appears. But as soon as the countdown is finished, the gpu vanishes again, and I don't have ground power anymore. I tried to use the LONG turn state with the 747-400 and 747-400F version. I use P3D v3.4, Win7 Cheers Dominik Stahel

When I load the 747 V3 the front half of the aircraft is a skeleton. The skin is missing from the wings forward. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling no change. Running FSX Steam, System is i7-4820, 16 Gigs of memory, Geforce 1070 with latest drivers. My PMDG 777 and 737 display correctly as well as all other 3rd party aircraft. Re-down loaded the 747and reinstalled, validated my Steam install, deleted the config file so it would be rebuilt. What am I missing?

Hello, I'm trying to use the "Custom" turn type in the MCDU menu. The "short" turn time of 55 minutes is too long for my taste. I'm unable to put in a 30 minute turn time. I've tried "30", "30.0", and "30.00" in the TURN TIME field with "CUSTOM" set as the type and always get "Invalid Entry." Is there a minimum to the turn time length? If not, what's the format? I didn't see anything in the Intro manual the specifically states a format or minimum time. Thanks!

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but this has happened to me twice now. I select a cold and dark state, hook up the external power no problem then go to request external air. It says arriving and I can visually see the cart outside, however it never connects. While it was arriving, I did start ground ops on a short turn. Could this have caused it?

I'm not getting the wind data uplink to work. Hit LSK6R to SEND, get "SENT" prompt, but never get the data. I'm using PFPX and have verified that the XXXXYYYY.wx file is in [FSX]/PMDG/WX. Worked fine last time I flew with the 777, has the format of the file changed at all?

Hi, I am not getting the modules on the left hand side of the OP Center after selecting the product from the drop down menu; see screen shot (https://www.flickr.com/photos/141330124@N05/shares/G6iWe1) As per PMDG 747 Introduction PDF: "Full documentation for the aircraft including the Tutorial flight that explains how to operate and fly it can be found in the PMDG Operations Center application by selecting the 747 product from the main drop down menu and then choosing the Documentation module from the menu on the left side". Hi folks, You can see my specs below, and so far the 744 is running very fluidly on my setup. I was wondering, however, if it is possible to have an alternative "lean" model, i.e. without the interior etc. to even further improve performance. I was also wondering whether it would be possible to create an alternative cockpit without seatbacks. That would make it easier to use camera add-ons such as EZdok and TrackIR. The way the 747 cockpit is laid out, you have to zoom out quite a bit if you want a wide view. Or you find yourself behind the seatback. Best, Holger
