PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

The PMDG 737 and 777 run very well on my system and have been using them for years with no real problems. That said, I would appreciate it if someone from PMDG would comment on the compatibility with the 747 Queen of the Skies II. My system is actually a high end (although older) Alien laptop. The graphics card is an nvidia GT 260M. It is running Vista 64 Service pack 2 (don't judge me ). It has plenty of RAM also. I can run both the 737 and 777 at around 26fps as a reference. It meets the minimum system requirements as stated for the Queen. Even if some features can't be realized with my meager laptop I would still be willing to buy if it. Been following this fo…

Hi All, I just got the Queen (along with everyone else) and I'm noticing that it is taking a much heavier toll on my simulator than the NGX or Triple 7. I know it's early in release and the majority of people here have limited time with it, but I'm open for any suggestions on improving framerate that one might have so far. Hey guys, seeing as how MUCH power this bird has and in REV can go almost all the way to 115% N1 is there a better way to command reverse? For years I've used FSUIPC with my 2 Saitek Throttles and each button in the detent did REV per each engine via the Throttle Decrease command (Control to repeat when held). Then I use a lua script to gradually decrease thrust to reverse idle, then idle so the airplane doesn't LEAP forward. But using MAX REV on a medium to light 747 you stop way too quickly, and half reverse or reverse idle would be more preferable. How can we do this now? Hi you lucky guys already playing with this new kid in town :-) An aspect that has always kind of disappointed me in previous PMDG releases, namely the NGX and the 777 ( with the "SAS" systems disengaged ) is the behaviour under asymmetric thrust situations. I wonder how it is now modeled in the 744 ? How are the rolling / yawing moments reproduced when an engine failure occurs ? How about the pitching moments with thrust changes specially on landing configuration ?

Hi folks, I was able to undock the pop-up CDU via right click, but not the pop-up display units (PFD, ND, engine displays). I am running a multi-monitor setup, and this is really essential for me. Please tell me that I am making a mistake and not that it is impossible to undock and move these pop-ups ... Best, Holger Solved - by accident I right clicked the lower right corner, and it worked. HI, just purchased the 744 and nothing works. I stand at the gate and hear the engines and thats about it. I cant click any button, the yoke is deflected to the full right position and all displays are off. I would create a support ticket, but the PMDG website doesnt work (funny thing: it worked on my phone in the same wifi so thats how i actually downloaded the 744 but it wont open on my laptop.. probably due to some SSL issues or similar that my phone just ignores). I already tried to uninstall the 744 and install it again but same problem.

Can I access the tutorial from another computer. Instead of printing the tutorial I want to access it from my laptop which does not have 747 v3 installed Thanks, Matt Wright

Quick question - are the manuals hosted online anywhere that I can access while I'm away from my computer at home where the QOTSII is installed? Would love to do a bit of reading today while I can!

Just as a note, Old PMDG 744 profiles for both Passenger and Freighter version seem to work pretty well. I just did about 10 roll tests, and distances along with D-RATE takeoff calculations seemed pretty spot on.

Hi all, I read that the new 747 V3 is olny compatible P3DV3, it's ok for me But We can read this Simulator: P3D v3.3 and up NOT COMPATIBLE WITH Hardware: Dual Core, 2.5 GHz or faster, 4 GB of RAM, A video card with at least 1 GB of VRAM, DirectX 9 compatible Nvidia or ATI card. Onboard motherboard or CPU video is not supported. Some of the newer Intel designs may work but we cannot guarantee compatibility. Windows: Windows 7 64-bit (older OSes such as Windows XP may work, but we cannot guarantee compatibility or support) Recommended Simulator: P3D v2.4-v3.X :wink: Have a nice day

I must say The Queen is amazing. Just a couple of issues I have noticed, and was wondering if anyone is seeing them as well, otherwise I'll reinstall: 1) The nose never appears in the fsx aircraft preview screen. It just shows the back of the airplane, but the nose section is missing (the inside of the cabin is visible). 2) I can't click on the tutorial nor the introduction manuals from the ops center (have to manually find these files in windows explorer). Anybody else seeing these small glitches, or is my install bad?

I'm so in awe of the advancements from the other 747. The wing flex on takeoff looks like she is trying to flap her wings. Here is a screenshot of my departure from KATL to my VA's main office at KCAE for the paint shed. I was expecting a little drop in FPS but it was barely noticeable, at busy airports. Hats off to you guys for a job well done.

Just purchased and downloaded QOS2. Operation centre is uptodate and documentation shows 3 pdfs. But I can't download them. What am I going to read in work tomorrow if I can't get them? Please help. Dean33

If I recall correctly, when you painted the engines on the v2, both inboards and both outboards shared the same texture. Is this the case with the v3, or can you have each of the four engines look different?
