I have spent the last day looking at fixes for DX10, sweetfx and Windows 8.1. I understand they do not support it but I found a 'fix' using RadeonPro. But my core of my problems lies with the SweetFX DXGI dll. It prevents my FSX from opening when using it with DX10. Without the DXGI DLL my sweetFX does not work in FSX. Is there any fix?

Hi again folks, I bought and installed DX10 Fixer. Everything sure looks good In CCC Catalyst Control Center setup a FSX profile where AA is overide application settings. AA samples at 4eQ, and AA supersampling. (As per chapter 6 of the docs) I have set up the FSX display settings as per chapter 5 of the docs. (Filtering Anisotropic and Anti Aliasing ticked) I wonder if you could cast an eye on my FSX.cfg (Below) and tell me if there is anything in it I don't need or should not have. I run a A10 CPU and a R9 200 Series GPU rig. My FSX.cfg may contain things I may not need now as I tweaked it in the past. (Removed all the irrelivent stuff for posting it h…

So far I have the QW 757 and Just Flight A320 installed with Steve's DX10 Fixer. I remember reading that VC shadows will work on all planes now. I can't get it to work on those two add on planes. It only works on default planes. Is there something special I have to do in the Fixer?

Hello... I think I have been following the shadows settings correct in the fixer. But I have poor shadows in my VC cockpit. I only fly the Aerosoft Airbus. Hope someone can help me with correct settings. Have some screenshots where you can see my VC shadows, where can I post them ? Chris from Denmark:)

DX10SF will be removed from sale for the first week or so of January. There is nothing to be alarmed about or speculate over. It will be returned to sale very shortly.

Just got this program after friends recommended it and someone posted just today where to get it now. So far it has made my sim so much better. Only issue I have run into that I haven't seen anything in the manual about is undocking and resizing 2D panels. On all my aircraft (payware) I undock the FMC/CDU and move it to 1 of my 3 monitors. I then resize it. When I do this now it goes black and the FPS drop drastically and the windows 7 spinning thing appears and also blinks. The work around now is I don't resize it or move it. if it can't be resolved I can live with it but wondering if anyone has had this or is a aware of a fix or something I did wrong. Thank You.

Hi Ive been loading a lot of scenery and stuff while changing to FSX-SE and occasionally I get a message from DX10 that Ive made some changes and to re install the fixer...What does that mean exactly, a full reinstall, or just restart? Also I get the message occasionally that DX10 cant delete or process (forget exact wording) the shader cache and I should do it manually. When I get this message the fixer has already reverted back to DX9. So I delete the shader but it wont let me switch over to DX10 mode but usually after a few flights it switches to DX 10 on its own Hope I making sense and Im not sure if Im missing any steps

My system isn't the best and I would like to know how I have to configure the dx10 fixer/Nvidia Inspector/Fsx for multisampling/supersampling but not for sparse grid supersampling. Specs: I5-4200M GTX760M windows 8.1 And yes, it's a laptop but I'm only 14 and I have I'm running this hobby of my pocket money. Thanks in advance

I always fly payware plane and have addon sceneries. I am using dx10 and everything looks wonderful on my Dell 30" monitor. Lately when on final fsx will freeze for a few seconds a few times. Anyone know what I can do with this problem? Thanks Paul

Currently DX10SF installs and works normally if you just have the new Steam Edition installed. I am unaware of any issues but let me know if you find any. There are several issues if you have both the SE and DVD version installed. There is no easy workaround - I will try and update the installer as soon as possible.

Just bought an addon called PrecipitFX which is supposed to improve the rain and snow effects as well as adding some other effects such as water spray from the tires, contrails etc. Looking at the various settings in the DX10 SF I found one setting in particular that caught my interest. It's called 'Exclude Particle Effects' and reading the DX10SF documentation I guess it would be a good idea to uncheck this option for this particular addon (PrecipitFX). Is there anyone in here who already tried these two products together that could share their experience what settings work best?

Hi, I started the new year buying my upgrade for the RealAir Duke Turbine V2. All my other addons from A2a and Alabeo show shadows and sun dancing around their cockpit as I make turns. But not in the new Duke. Is this something connected to the model itself? Outside reflections and shadows are OK. Happy 2015 to all.

Hey everyone tried posting in fsx general did not get any responses thought i would try here as i am running in DX10 i have a question regarding some scenery when i look at the water it seems as though there is a layer over the top of the animates waves that is static these don't move the only scenery i'm running here is FTX global and UTX could these be caused by UTX do i need to move the assignment in the scenery ???? have a look at the pic as you can see the arrows point to the non moving ones and under those are the nice animates waves any insight would be great Thank you JHo

The title says it all.....is there any cloud textures package that benefits from DX10 in terms of visual and performance more than others or are they all equivalent (FEX, REX3, REX4, etc...) ? Thanks Regards

I have uninstalled FSX and installed FSX Steam. Having reinstalled DX 10 Fixer 2.6 and using Orbx EU Scotland, when switching to DX10 I am getting black squares appearing at Dundee. Not sure if they should be lights or trees, but I think they are should be trees. Any suggestions? Stuart

hello all- While flying around Paris today, I noticed a black box flicker on the base of the cooling towers of the power station outside the city. There was no smoke or steam- I am not sure if there is suppose to be any. When I got up close the flickering stopped but again I saw no effects. I tried to replace all the steam effects from the dx10 fixer backup folder to fsx and still had the same issues. Is there a problem with steam or smoke ? Is there any other locations that I can test? Thanks in advance.

Hi Steve, Running DX Fixer with just a couple of minor issues; 1. UK2000 VFR Scenery Pack1, version 2 for FSX, Southend airport seems to have no runway lights. 2. UK2000 London City Extreme version 1.00 has custom lighting effects, but at dusk, dawn, and night, they are all showing as either black squares or crosses. I'm sure that I was not getting this before. I've only made a minor change recently; that is to install a newer (and apparently better) Halo.BMP. But if this were the cause, would this not happen to all airports? Thanks, Andrew.

Steve, I have recently switched to DX10 and I am quite happy about the results .....everything is working very well, I have no problem at all despite I am using a lot of addons....just the VC shadows are not working well, but that's not an issue for me...I can live without them.. Just one question: one of the reasons why I decided to switch to DX10 were the reports from several users according to whom the VAS usage with DX10 was way less than with DX9 in the same conditions (same sceneries, same addon a/c, etc....). In my case I cannot confirm this: despite I have taken all reccomended actions to reduce VAS usage, i.e. using only 1024 resolution textures (DXT5 for cloud…

Hello, I have read many topics on "how do I get the VC shadows working", including the topics in this forum. I cannot get this right for the NGX and T7. :( In one topic here the final answer is "It works...". :unsure: That is really helping out ! Could someone please post a little guide on how to get the VC shadows using the fixer toolbox ? Would make my day ... and of many others I suppose. Regards.
