Hi guys,For the flight development, one would hope that the development team will ask the industry leaders how to make this the best simulation ever, scenery developers and aircraft developers alike.Boeing successfully did this when designing the 777. I would really expect for microsoft to approach pmdg, uk2000 aerosoft orbx etc to ask what does fsx limit and what you make better etc.CheerssAlex

We all want certain improvements in MS Flight like improved performance or better terrain but I was curious if you had to choose one of these, what would it be? :(

There has not been an update on Flight in over a month, until today. Microsoft has revised the news page on the Flight website to be like a little blog. They have answered some of the questions that many people are asking, but still not giving out a release date, or specific information. I am starting to feel relieved that it will for sure, be a simulator. They also appear to want to have better performance on today's hardware. I sure hope this happens!http://www.microsoft.com/games/flight/:(

One thing thats always bugged me about FS9/FSX and previous versions, is the lack of damage modeling. I dont want to hear people screaming, wings fall off or dead bodies around the runway, I just want to see a blown tire from a bad landing or bent landing gear etc.. Something that shows that my landing was too hard or I over stressed the airplane or caused some damage. Tiped the wing during takoff or landing causing some damage. This is currently done very nicley on Rise of Flight and DCA A10. I would love to see it in the new "Flight" when it comes out. I hate just seeing the word crash appear and the flight re-sets. Id be happy if the damage modeling was just limited t…

I dont know ANYTHING about flight (yet) since the site really doesn't tell anything..BUT...i am excitedly looking forward to it!First, i am highly confident that the MS developers KNOW what they are doing, i do not think that they would leave all the "die hard" sim freaks and tweakers behind.FSX (to be honest) is one of the worst pieces of **** software from a technical point of view, its simply very badly coded and DX10 implementation is a joke. (I can only think of one other "game" which is similarly badly coded, "Gothic 3". Another coding disaster.)So..from this point of view MS Flight NEEDED a code overhaul BADLY, and i think the only way to do that was to make a who…

Recently, not only on these forums, but other flight simulation forums as well, there have been loads of negative thoughts/comments on the upcoming Microsoft Flight. Now, lets break it down to make it all clear....Microsoft Flight is probably in early development still. We shouldn't expect a release for around a year. Only one in-game video has been released so far -- Webisode 2. It's only a 1 minute video, but gives you a basic idea of what improvements have been made. Again it's the only video, and for everyone to judge off of that one little video is not right. Not much is shown. Just a single airport and a single plane. We have no clue what the whole world will look l…

It isn't up to par with Steam and many games are old and overpriced but i hope they will move in the right direction to make it much more attractive for PC gamers. At least their daily deals seems to be more interesting, as long as they are available in all regions (e.g. Age of Empires III for $0.10).Digital distribution of games and competition between game services will hopefully lead to a much more reasonable pricing of entertainment goods, so that more people are able to afford them.

http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-us/press.aspxRelevent to Flight SimmersGames for Windows Marketplace will also be the place to find iconic franchises from Microsoft Game Studios, such as “Flight Simulator,” “Gears of War,” “Halo” and “Zoo Tycoon,” as well as upcoming blockbusters “Fable III,” “Age of Empires Online” and “Microsoft Flight.”I hope they offer MS Flight on disk as well.

What MS is presenting on their Flight web site hasn't impressed me so far. What I see there make me assume this:-) There's a clear trend towards fun and game style flying using uncomplicated air race type planes.-) Scenery isn't that different from what is already present in FSX.-) An emphasis is given to virtual cockpits.I have no doubt that despite Flight seems to aim arcade style gamers, developers like PMDG will still be able to create high level add on products. The trend towards VCs isn't appealing to me since I never got used to them even after trying with head tracking devices, so I can only hope Flight will still support 2D cockpits and that developers respect "2…

The Times newspaper in the UK devoted a whole page (15) to the release of Call of Duty - Black Ops - other than an advertisement by a power company. There was also a 9 column inch review that concluded "Overall, Black Ops is a masterpiece of gaming."The body of the article said "Analysts predicted that the game could sell 15 million copies by the end of the year," At a notional price of $50 that's $3/4 billion revenue. Remember Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2 was released a year ago in November, and is said to have achieved revenue of more than $1 billion. No doubt it will run on Xbox 360 and Playstation consoles with no tweaking needed. If Flight were expected to achieve…

I think the only thing (I know this is not a little thing)that could distinguish MS Flight from FSX+ will be streaming high-def scenery as it will have to significantly exceed the likes of what ORBX FTX, GEX and the other fine products bring. Further, unless they have opened up the platform to 3rd party development it's going to be a weak showing IMO. Real time streaming of HD scenery could be significant, but only a little so when you see what we already have. Also, unless this product is light years ahead of FSX+, there is no way I would pay a subscription fee if that's what it will take. As we quite all well know by now, we have a very very mature and complete prod…

Well here is a question that was on my mind many years now. What if... Microsoft would release MS Flight or something else in the future that is subscription based?Well, you could say subscribe, for what?Let's say that MS would supply you with updated data all the time, regarding New buildings, new planes, airport info (official and correct) , NAVAIDS, Routes, Charts (accurate and updated as in real life), Real traffic if not flying on line.Real accurate weather.NAV CYCLES for FMS (FMS in it's planes)On line service as VATSIM or IVAO (including clients for radars and in 3D towers , simulating ATC environment)A decent voice chat system.Even support for virtual airlines (ranke…

With Microsoft Flight now on the radar screen I've been thinking about my investment in FSX. Having recently made the switch from FS9 ro FSX exclusively I have already invested a kings ransom in re-purchasing many of the products that I already had in FS9 (thank G-d for companies like FS Dream Team that give you both products for the same price). Now that Microsoft Flight has been announced I think that I am officially going to turn off the money faucet until I know more about Flight and the estimated release date. I assume that I have about $1,000 US left to spend to bring FSX up to snuff with FS9 over the next year but I'm going to sit on that money until I know for …

While I get most of my kicks from FS2004 and FSX by simulating flight, I've greatly enjoyed creating my own scenery as well. As of today this is a time consuming and difficult task, and extremely hard to do well. I'm sure this has kept many from starting their own projects. But the potential is there, and with the right tools many parts of the world can be modeled in much greater detail. Here's an example of how easy scenery creation could be (much of the technology behind the Sims build mode can be traced back to SimCity 2000 from the early 1990s): The Sims is in practice a mesh, landclass and object placement tool all in one, capable of stunning and complex results in…

I have read lot of infos about Flight, even if it will be released on 2012.I still have a question that hasn't been covered yet, or at least I can't really find an answer :Will Flight have the possibility to fly 747, 380, 767, 320 Boeing and Airbus ?Thanks

I'm really starting to believe that the screenshot when we access the official MS FLIGHT website was taken in game. First of all, the cessna in the background has a paint scheme that looks just like the one in FSX, also, the back landing wheel seems to be lacking a bit of detail if it were a RW photo, and last, the brake line at the bottom right is not very smooth... If it actually is an ingame screenshot, then it looks like pretty awesome graphics for us!

During the development of the previous version of the MS flight simulator product, members of the development team read and posted in various forums on this website. I am very curious as to whether you are reading various posts on these forums now, and/or are allowed to comment. If you can, would you kindly reply to this topic and give us any information or even a simple introduction? Thanks in advance!

Just a wish list, not sure if any of these are very feasible or not, but I'd love for the sky to be brighter in the moonlight, and in populated areas like NYC or London. I'd just like a brighter night sky in general, in FSX even in a full moon the sky was fairly dark. Just some thoughts.
