I am new to P3D and have installed it new from 3.2. I have also installed my Orbx scenery (Global, Vector, LC and some regions) as well as a few payware airports like FSDT Vancouver, Fly Tampa Toronto, etc. The issue is that when approaching a large airport I am getting a significant pause in the sim as scenery loads I guess and just wonder if there is any specific setting I should look at to try and fix it. Other than this pause, the sim is very smooth, no micro stutters or anything and my framerates are quite good.

I recently tried volumetric fog on and off to see if the performance differences are worth flying with the fog off. While the fps difference was noticeable but not game changing I found that my clouds look very different with the fog off. Have a look at the screenshots, the first of both series is with ASN and volumetric fog off and the second with ASN and volumetric fog on. As you can see there is a cloud band with fog on which is not there with fog off. ASN and REX TD and Soft Clouds all at the latest SP level, ASN set to realism. I wonder why clouds depend on the fog setting. It is even more noticeable when the cloud cover is more dense. What am I missing? Thanks

I get the opening screen, select and aircraft and airport, starts to load and I get a fatal error and P3D shuts down. Now what.

Hi all, I searched back in history (may have missed it) but can you tell me what benefits you have from the switch from 2.5 to 3.2? I know about VAS (very important), but what else? Also, are there negatives? Thanks! Gregg

Here is a strange one, I can not get my head around I have just done a complete Reinstall of Prepar3D v3.2 The only reason i done a complete Install is because of all the Installing and Uninstalling of the New Installer system whilst writing the Guide. So after i wrote the Guide and i was finished messing around with the Individual Installers i thought to myself "Sure ill do a nice clean Install of 3.2 and life will be great. But after i done a complete Uninstall, Removing everything I then Installed again, But The .exe is missing from "Prepar3D" in my Core folder, Also the .cfg is missing from "Prepar3D" in AppData Roaming. What is the best windows for p3d v3.2 i am currently running windows 10 but would i get better performance on windows 7 or 8 thanks.

Hi, I'm 100% positive now that after the latest updates for REXTD and ASN, dusk and dawn textures in v3.2 look blended (similar to darker version of normal day texture). Turning Volumetric Fog OFF makes the problem disappear (i.e. dusk and dawn textures have become clearly distinguishable). Initially I though that it's REX textures' issue, but now I see that it's a different beast. Has anyone run into this problem already or it's just me? Took a gamble and made the switch over to Prepar3D from trying to get FSX to run on my machine which consists of: GPU: GeForce GTX 650Ti CPU: AMD Phenom 2 X6 1045T Processor Memory: 16 GB of Ram Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P Motherboard Hardrive: Seagate 2TB I'm getting better frame rates with this simulator as opposed to FSX. Graphic sliders are on medium and its just great. Was wondering if this setup would also do this simulator justice? I'm pretty new to P3D. I started with v3.1. I understand we can update only components of P3D such as client, scenery, etc. I was wondering how this plays in to the upgrade procedure and reinstalling of add-ons. I am heavily installed with add-ons, primarily Orbx (regions, airports, plus FTXG), FSDT, PMDG, and FS2Crew. A full reinstall is quite a process. Can anyone enlighten me as to what components of P3D I can reinstall without any need for reinstall? Or limited reinstall? And what about the AppData folders with the dll.xml and exe.xml files? Do I need to save any of these files, or are they not overwritten. I appreciate any help.

Hi, Altough i have many addons like FTX Global, LC, Vector, payware airports etc when i click Scenery Library menu nothing comes, only an empty page As far as i know, i have to see all the scenery files here to allow me to enable and disable them. Also Flytampa Athens airport is installed into a FLY TAMPA named folder under the main P3D folder , by the setup file automatically , but not under Addons/Scenery folder. And i can not see this airport, although installed successfully Any ideas about the reasons ?

Hey all another issue I'm having is that for some reason P3D is crashing but only in the Caribbean area's like Miami are unaffected as are Orbx regions ect. No matter what airport I go to down south I get a crash. I doubt its the sim I'm sure its a conflict or a corrupt file the sim loads up I have enough time to see the airports are fully loaded and them bam to desktop and its not reporting an error to the windows logs either. Any idea on what I can do to track the cause?

Hi, This is a part of REX-TD install log after the recent patch. Doesn't that mean that "//" before the actual texture name is an indication that a certain texture was skipped during installation? Ok here goes. Everything starts out normal, but then a few minutes into the flight the sim will stop accepting inputs from my rudder pedals, flowed by a beeping sound if I click anywhere with my mouse. I can still exit the program with the keyboard but even after the program has exited the system hangs and beeps if I click anywhere. If I try to shut it down it just hangs at the shutting down screen so the only way to reset it is via the switch. Here is where it gets really weird the keyboard and mouse say powered on even when the PC is off (they are back-lit) I have to either unplug the computer or wait a few minutes for them to turn off. Was about to get some "Before" screenshots for when I follow the mipmapping tut recently posted. All I did was copy the texture.common folder for the aircraft to a different HDD. Loaded up P3D and went into free flight with the aircraft. Within about 10 seconds the screen just goes blank. My comp had been acting up, so I thought it just needed a restart. Waited for P3D to close out and restarted. Now when I load it up, there's no vehicles loading on the vehicle screen, just the F-22. When I go into a free flight, there's no more profiles in FSUIPC for my controls where there were at least 4 a few minutes ago. The heck just happened?

Just updated to 3.2... I had this problem upon initial load of 3.2 I rebooted and the sim started normally. Then I updated the GTN and started the sim - worked fine. Then I updated orbx libraries dll and downloaded new library files - installed fine. Rebooted. Now P3D won't load past 0%.... "Loading Scenery Objects" Any ideas? oh - I did notice I don't have a SITUATION= entry in my p3d.cfg anymore... it was present in 3.1 I tried making a new one but everytime I start P3D (and it sits at 0%) it apparently deletes this line.

Hi all, I am curious as to what texture sets you guys use (primarily thinking of clouds)? I am just wanting to know if there is a popular one that people seem to use. Regards Scott

Great we got it installed but is anyone noticing it doesnt do anything - they are static - also if I turn on all of the labels they dont show up over any aircraft - this is in P3D V3.2 - I didnt actually check in V3.1 as I had to many other things going on - thanks

Hi. I am on a rebuild path at the moment and maybe made a mistake trying to install the Traffic3d sound. I choosed 5.4c when i installed the 1mb file into my P3D folder. That gave me a mytraffic/aircraft folder with AI sound files within. i copied those to my original mytraffic/aircraft folder and do have AI sounds. Just not sure it was the way to go? Anybody Who can chime in and maybe correct if i did something wrong? Thanks Michael Moe

Noticed how P3D won't start up when having the 'Show scenario screen at startup' option unchecked and when using my own default situation? However when having the option checked I have no problem manually loading my saved situation. Anyone else noticed this or is it something with my installation maybe? I'm using Prepar3D_v3_Professional_3.2.3.16769.

Dear Simmers; I have a question about Ezdok and its installation. I have just bought P3D v3.2. I already do use Ezdok for FSX SE. What would be the best and easiest way to install Ezdok in P3D.
