Hi all, So I had a Track IR ages ago...first version and it stunk...always having to recenter. Everybody's always talking about how great it is so, decided to try the new model. First point is that I don't have to recenter this one very much and it tracks the head thing (not the LED thing) pretty well. That's good. But, lord, it hurts my eyes. I'm running a 50" 4K monitor and I see every little jerkiness to it though I turned smoothness all the way up (it helped). Are there some tricks...some settings? I have it sitting on top of the monitor...is there a better place? Will I get used to it? Maybe it's my glasses? What's your experience?

Simply the airport buildings seems to have disappeared. If there anyway to solve this without doing a full reinstall and breaking my simulator. Thanks.

Hello All. I have been away from FSX Orbx for 2-3 years as being a pensioner it starting costing more than I really wanted to pay for new and updated sceneries and airports. I heard recently that there is a new product available called P3D. Does P3D cover airports around the globe, and in my case New Zealand? Does it equal or surpass the lovely graphic's of Orbx. I enjoy flying, and taking in the scenery. That's all that interests me so would the $195.00 version be what I should aiming at? Many thanks to those who reply. zl2bmh

I'm interested in purchasing this, but on their webpage it says it only supports P3D up to v3.1. Does anyone know if it will work on P3D 3.3.5?

I like to do short GA flights (50-100 nm). Currently I am flying the (A2A) Cherokee, using VOR and sometimes NDB and no GPS at all. Great fun. Sometimes I want to use the GTN750 though but it feels a bit odd to use that device in such an old plane. So I wondered what (P3D compatible) plane would be realistic to use with the GTN 750 on short flights? Or: which GA planes do have a GTN 750 in it in real life for shortish flights? (If any?) EDIT Hm, come to think of it... obviously there aren't that many addon planes that support the GTN 750 fully (3D)... I don't want to use it as a popup.

Today I tried to setup p3dv3.5 latest installer fetched from my LM account, on two different computers, both running win 10 professional 64 bit, nd got a succession of malware detection alerts by Windows Defender. The trigger seems to be Setup.exe from the p3d v3 installer. Has anyone experienced this ? Thx for any info / hints... I switched to P3D from FSX since almost one year, when I decided to buy a new desktop completely dedicated to flightsim. Got the demo but a bit lost. I cannot see a way to work this in P3D. I set up the flight plan in P3D and in PFE and connect to P3D but I can sit there for an hour and nothing happens. How do you start the program?

With the rise of VR headsets this year. I was deciding on which setup to go with that will give me the most immersive flying experience in Prepar3D, X-Plane, DCS World, and upcoming flight sims. I'm deciding on the following: 1) 49in - 65in 4K UHD TV 2) Triple Monitor Setup maybe 3x24" 3) VR Headset I can't decide which would be best. I'm leaning towards the VR route. Since that will be the future and seems like it would be much more immersive to fly vs the other 2 choices. Is anyone here currently using a VR headset and could tell me how the experience is? I have an SSD currently which has Windows 8 installed and also Prepar3d along with a number of add ons. Originally I thought the 256GB drive would be plenty for just these two main things - other programs and software I have installed on a standard HDD. However, I am quickly running out of space, particularly if I want to get future new add-ons (Orbx Global?!). I have therefore purchased a new standalone 256GB SSD drive which I intend to use just for Prepar3d and all it's add-ons. So, I just updated to 3.3.5 from 3.1 (a bit overdue, isn't it?) to try out AS16, and some of the in-sim windows are missing, notably those from ASN/AS16 and GSX. Many others are functional, such as FS2Crew, and the default ATC window. I tried a complete redownload and reinstall with antivirus off, uninstalling and reinstalling both ASN and GSX, nothing seems to work. ASN works as intended except for the weather requests. GSX's settings all are functioning normally, but I can't open the request menu. I tried searching both here and on the official P3D forum, with no joy. Anyone encountered this before?

Folks, I'd like to invest in a new monitor, and thinking of a curved one, for the immersion factor. I've read a few things, that resolution above 1920x1080 can cause VAS issues? So, with that, I'm not sure I want to go higher in terms of resolution? Since I sit about 20-22 inches from my screen, I need something that will look great from that distance. I'd like to keep the cost below $600, and for the time being, would be using my Nvidia 780GTX. I appreciate any advice and ideas.

Hi Guys, There's a lot of topics about OOM errors out there, but I have a circumstance that I haven't found addressed yet. My errors occur when I pause for an extended time. You see, I have occasions where I begin a flight and then realise that I will not complete the flight early enough in the evening, so I pause and resume the following day after work. This essentially means that I can be paused for almost 24 hours. Yes, that's an extremely long time. However, I never used to have this happen. I think it was with P3D V3 I started noticing this. Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent this error - other than not to pause for so long? Thanks!

Everything was running fine and then I load up a new flight and no good. The joystick is connected and shows up in the p3d controls menu, with axis assigned, I can calibrate etc. The hat works and I can pan around the VC, but none of the buttons or flight controls now work. I have tried multiple aircraft and airports and reset my computer several times, but still no good. Also if I switch to mouse yoke, that also does not seem to do anything to the flight controls and doesnt turn the aircraft. Any advice of what to do to fix this? I am wondering if I just knocked some random key which turns off flight conrols or something. ______ The only changes to my syste…

OK so I have tried migration but this breaks being able to use Zinertek's (much brighter) night textures which, pre-migration, worked just fine with FTX Global/Vector and regions disabled. Unfortunately, post-migration, disabling the regions in SceneryConfigurator doesn't have the same effect as pre-migration. Reinstalling Zinertek's texture makes no difference. Fortunately I do have a pre-migation backup so what "bad things" will happen if I just ignore this migration nonsense (which gives me nothing - switching regions was never an issue for me) and continue as before with a pre-migration FSX? Interested to know how people have their night lighting configured to display realistically. I have Vector, FTX Global and FTX Landclass products installed and use the FTX Night light configurator to set my preferences. The results are more pleasing than the default night lighting but I sometimes have issues with road lighting disappearing and then reappearing which kiils the immersion a little. My preference is to use the very small size lights as I think this looks more realistic in the sim. Wondering what everyone else does to get great results.

I've just discovered that MT6 creates a huge f_mytraffic folder inside ProgramData\Prepar3D v3\SceneryCache. Everytime I delete it, P3D rebuilds it there. Could you please check out what you have there (those with MT6). I don't think I saw it in my previous P3Dv3 install. Thanks, Dirk.

Flew into ASE tonight.... everything went swell until landing... a little "bumpy" exiting the runway. Seeing as how I just went through similar issues (and now fixed) with Orbx I'm trying to find the offending file that might be causing this. Does anyone know if the Aerosoft Aspen X scenery will work in P3D?
