Hi all I suppose this is a dumb question for you guys. I currently have a fully licensed paid version of Prepar3D v4 Professional 4.5.14.34698, which I gather is the latest version of the 4.5 series. However everyone is installing Prepar3d 5.0. When I go to the Prepar3d download page there seems to be only the option to download Prepar3d 4.5. Will I be able to download Prepar3d 5.0 with my current licence, or do I have to re purchase Prepar3d 5.0 all over again. Or is the current Prepar3d 5.0, some sort of Beta version. If I have to re purchase, is there any difference between the academic license of $59.95 and the Professional …

Hi, I have a credit with Carenado (long story), and I really want an aircraft where I can import a flightplan from Simbrief or ProATCx, and enter the assigned departure/approach. I have the ATR42, but I can't figure out ho to import a flightplan - only create one. The Phenom 300 has the Navigraph extension, but I haven't been able to get that work on either of my systems - two different builds, different P3D versions, no shared hardware, different OS's, multiple reinstalls on both systems. I heard this method is easier, where you can use the FMC and enter in your departing and arrival airport and ACARS will build a real world route and automatically upload it into your FMC? If so, does anyone know how to get it past the screen where it says Data link is not ready acars login required?

In p3d v5 I’ve noticed that under my scenery library and addons that the flytampa entrie is unchecked. I’ve tried many times to enable it but it keeps showing as unchecked when i go back to my scenery library > addons. Anybody know why this is happening and how i can fix the problem?

Anybody get it to work in P3Dv5? The aircraft loaded but no VC appear for me.

So I wanted to exclude some buildings in P3D v5. I flew to FlyTampa VHHX and i saw a combination of default buildings and FlyTampa custom ones. The question is, how do I exclude these default buildings? I know how to exclude default airport objects but not sure about buidlings. Any help would be appreciated.

After uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of the Aerosoft CRJ Pro, the flight displays and yoke do not work on startup (see photo). I was installing it again because I've read that was the way to eliminate an issue with the localizer needle not working correctly. Has anybody encountered this and knows how to repair? There seems to be a weird pole with a light on top that sticks out. When using big planes like 787, the wings would go right through it. I circled it. I don't think it's suppose to be there, if it was, then there's no way planes in the real world would be able to taxi pass it.

Any suggestions on how to get the GF Radio/NavCOMMS/Transponders to work in Prepar3D v5 HF1? I copied the v4 exe.dll file but no joy; I also tried to load the GF executable via fsuipc6-the same result. Thanks-- Bob

Hello! I bought Prepar3D v5 a couple of days ago and it runs perfectly fine. I installed IVAO Pilot client and IVAO MTL into SimObjects\IVAO_MTL and added a few lines into simobjects.cfg. My problem is that Prepar3D v5 now takes about 6 and a half minutes to start! I have been flying in Prepar3D v4 for years on IVAO and I never had this issue. My Prepar3D v5 is installed on a SAMSUNG 860EVO 500GB. It looks like P3D is loading all of the SimObjects everytime I start it. P3D v4 wasn't doing that. P3D v5 loads almost instantly without IVAO MTL. I think that there must be something wrong with P3D v5. I also found out that P3D v5 creates a lot of empty folders at Roaming\…

I never intendet to update to HF3 but then Active Sky came along with their beta which needs HF3 to work and I had no choice than to update. Oh, my, what a mistake. Now all the scenery is blurry, even with all the sliders to max and the trees look awful. Any idea at all what could be the issue and more important, what can I do to solve it? Anybody had the same problem? I'm pretty desperate here because under no circumstances I want to reinstall everything again. It was running beautifully. Are there any ai traffic options available for vatsim that are compatible with v5 yet? I tried FLAi but I doesn't appear to be working. **Nevermind models were installed in the wrong folder**

Folks; As we are used to seeing each time a major (or minor) P3D update releases, there's a potentially confusing mix of posts referring to the new version and the older version(s) of P3D. It's probably a good idea, at least during the transition and especially for posts related to the older sims, to use the "Tags" feature to place a tag near the thread title identifying to which version your post refers. The Tag feature is found directly beneath the Title when writing a post. Click on "+ Choose" and then enter the sim version in the box provided.

Not sure if this was answered already. Delete Generated Files are still at same place as V4 and with Icon....I deleted....But also managed to wipe all ORBX files.... Not sure if DGF have a same function as in V4....

So I wanted to post this before P3Dv5HF1 dropped, but I decided to wait until the hotfix was released. Some of you have already noticed this, too -- I am seeing different core usage than I did with P3Dv4.x, and this is with a completely stock/vanilla/unmodded sim (i.e. no AffinityMask). A picture tells 1,000 tales: Notice the interesting thing. Core2 and Core4 seem to be a mirroring Core0. In other words when Core0 has a spike in usage, so too, are Cores2 and 4. Clearly, the other cores are showing the tell-tale signs of being terrain loading cores, and we know what Core0 is, but what is the story with Core2 and Core4? And is this particular distribution…

Don't know if that was raised before, but with Truesky ON and having selected rainy weather, I have rain inside the cockpit of all planes including the newly released PMDG 747... with EA OFF, rain remains outside the VC window... Is this a known bug ? Thank you
