I have FS Global Real Weather from Pilots that's supposed to work with P3Dv5 but it doesn't. It just hangs. Active Sky and Sky Force 3D aren't available for P3Dv5 yet. What weather is working with P3Dv5?

There seems to be a tendency here to be overly enthusiastic towards P3D and to immediately shout down any criticism. Just as an example, in the thread about FFTF Dynamic someone points out that such a basic functionality like having an optimal balance between FPS and texture loading any time by dynamically adjusting the FFTF value should be included in the base sim and shouldn't require to buy an addon. He immediately was shouted down from all sides, even by a moderator who blamed him for having an agenda and told him to move on. He was told that a default blank P3D runs smooth out of the box and it's the users fault to install all kinds of addons. Well, …

Hi guys, I’m trying to uninstall Aerosoft airbus professional, I’ve uninstalled it using add or remove programs. I’m now trying to tidy up the remain folders but this is one left that I can’t delete. It contains more folders and I’m pretty sure these all contain fonts. Any ideas how I can get rid of them? I've tried restarting the computer and trying to delete. Thanks!

Anyone else having problems with the latest version of Chaseplane? It worked previously but since the last update the camera and aircraft option is greeted out and everytime I try to reinstall it I get an error saying it's corrupt as one file wouldn't extract!

Any thoughts and suggestions on the current AM to use with HT On in P3Dv5 on a 8-core CPU? It used to be 00.11.11.11.11.11.01 for P3Dv4.5 I'm running 11.11.11.11.11.11.11.11 now. Thanks.

Anyone know why the base pack for P3Dv4 is grayed out?

Please note that I am referring to the PMDG 737 NGX here (not the new NGXu version). I have noticed over the past couple of weeks that the autopilot seems to struggle slightly with a handful of SIDs in the UK. The two examples of this that I have seen recently are as follows.... DTY 4F departure from runway 33 at EGBB Birmingham ORTAC 3A departure from runway 26 at EGJJ Jersey The DTY 4F SID included a slight turn to the right, and then a 270 degree left turn loop. I recently subscribed to the Discord channel for Rex Simulations. Yesterday they announced their product update roadmap for various existing products for P3DV5. Apparently the WX Advantage weather radar product will not be updated for V5. I do know that the True Sky EA clouds and precipitation cannot generate data that can be used for driving a weather radar emulation, but the old style standard weather should still be usable for that purpose. I asked about that, and the response was simply that there are “other complications”. Hi all- Anyone got FSL's spotlights working in V4 HF2? I see the requirements on their site state compatibilty with HF1 https://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.php?/files/file/849-fslspotlights-64bit-for-p3d-v41-to-v45-only/ I'm running HF2 and am wondering if this is why I can't create groups or see the small arrow, bottom left, as described in the manual. The manager opens and is connected to the sim, however. Running all as admin, including install, and this behavior goes for any ac selected. Any ideas?

Anyone who has received their yoke trying to use the configurator with P3D? I'm seeing very little documentation, and what's there is in German. Seems to be very little information on how to program things without having been on the development team. I'd love to try it out, but unless I use a default plane, I'm kind of out of luck without the ability to program button actions.

In P3Dv5. One flight it works then the next it doesn't. It seems to keep getting corrupted somehow so I wonder if it's conflicting with another addon perhaps? Anyone else had problems with it?

I just had a revelation! Some of my scenery installs were stalling and looking at the Task Manager I noticed the process was suspended. I did a bit of research and found this could be due to some AV or firewall protection so I disabled everything in BitDefender, without success. Then I remembered Acronis was installed although I don't use it, and I checked that. Active Protection, a ransomware protection feature, was turned on. I turned it off and... wow! Not only are my installations completing, I think they are faster (but that could be a bit subjective). What is very real is that the sim itself (v5) now loads five to ten times faster! Hi all, I’m sort of a set-it-and-forget-it type, and honestly I’ve never really done anything with nVidia Control Panel (NCP for short) and v4.5, nor in v5 now. I was checking some monitor settings and saw the controls in the NCP for P3D. I’d honestly forgotten it was even there. I always do all my graphics settings in the game. I noticed that for a lot of the settings in NCP, you don’t have an option for using the game setting. It’s either on or off. So is NCP controlling some of my P3D graphics settings without me realizing it? In other words, do I need to make sure that the setting on the NCP is allowing me to change the setting in the game, or am I thinking…

Hi guys Just wondering what you all think of getting a Navigraph charts subscription? It would 100% be helpful when flying SID/STARS in the PMDG but for airports that are default P3D I am assuming the apron/taxi charts won’t be correct as the Airport wouldn’t be accurate? Which one is better? I know SSAA is harder on the GPU vs MSAA. But I'm not sure between these 2. To be honest I can't really see much of a difference between these 2. I'm running on a 55" 4K TV.

Hi guys, I have seen some posts about users with less than 8gb video cards - See if this strategy works. You do need Windows 10 2004 build (it is coming soon) - just try it with what you have. HT on or off -- that is up to you - I saw blurries with HT on my end. So I turned it off. I have 6 cores anyway. Req Enable HIGH_RESOLUTION_TERRAIN_TEXTURES=1 in Settings (make sure to click it and thats it) Req TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=10 (you could try 9 also) - this goes in [TERRAIN] Req LOD_RADIUS=2.500000 (Small LOD) - Yes 2.5 See my previous thread regarding this with 8gb cards

I've noticed that my scenery, wing views, spot views, etc., get brighter and brighter as I fly. Usually on IFR flights that last at least 30 minutes or more, things get so bright that I have to turn off HDR. That works but it doesn't look nearly as good as when my flight starts in HDR with my lighting setup. The brightness ruins the look of the sim's scenery and plane views. The sim is really affected by this unnatural brightness that seems to turn on unexpectedly. I am not changing any graphics settings or fooling around with any other parameters. It just happens, and it happens on EVERY IFR flight after about 30-40 minutes in. Just curious if it has happen…

Twice, same thing, confirmed.....after command "waiting for good engine start" CTD....twice in a ROW... just FYI if anyone has a problem. Noticed that few days upon landing and choosing gate. Now, I have to admit that I am using "Q" which is not V5 compatible 100% I guess. That might have issue....

What's the latest on how best to get these to play together in V5? I'm currently running them without Enhanced Atmospherics. I am confused which of the 4 boxes I should leave checked in ASCA 7420 and also how i should configure envtex. Also I manually added my path to V5 in the asca settings under simulators. But it's listed in orange. Not sure what that means.

I'm seeing giant (off-seas) oil platforms in some fairly unrealistic places in P3DV5. Can anyone confirm? I did a flight into KSDF (default scenery not FSDT) and there was an oil platform on short final to RW17R that was basically in the flight path of the approach. Seems a little bit far inland! Anyone know if there's a BGL file that can be disabled to remove them? Clearly this is from the updated vector data. I've also seen some in Lake Ponchartrain near KMSY. There are some platforms out there but they are not the size the platforms represented in P3DV5 (those would be more representative of something out in the Gulf of Mexico).

Can someone confirm that this addon works with P3D 4.5 cos believe it or not it doesn't seem to say on their website. Also can anyone confirm that it works well with Active Sky weather engine, giving representative depiction of the current sim weather? Cheers
