I have a few questions about FTX Global. It looks fantastic and seems to be an all in one solution to fix the crappy global textures. Does it wreck autogen from other add ons? As most simmers know anything with custom AG needs to be kept intact (Autogendescirptions.spb for example). Over the years I have installed many scenery's that have wrecked my AG files (replacing the entire file instead of adding to it). This can be very frustrating (keeping an all in one AG file that supports all the addons with custom AG) to say the least. I was wondering if FTXG trashes this file or uses it's own (rendering custom AG useless at places like France VFR, some of the Aerosoft …

I've looked and looked, and don't see the nice set of (sometimes useful) flight notes that was included with FSX for each of the default aircraft. Am I missing something somewhere? And if they doesn't exist, where does one turn to learn some of the finer points of flying some of the P3D aircraft? Thanks! Mark

hello all, long time fsx user with lots of add ons (like all of you) and I am thinking of prepard v2. My current computer doesn't have directx 11 so I can't run it but my husband has a newer laptop that does have directx 11 so I am anxious to download it to his computer to "try" it out. My question is that if I download prepar3d v2 and it runs fine on his computer, do I need to buy it again when I buy a new computer for myself? or is it your download forever. While I have you, can you explain just what prepa3d does? I mean is it a new simulator or is it an addon for fsx. Do I need to unistall fsx to use it and also why do they say for developers and students. I am jus…

I am a newbi to PREPAR V2 but a longtime simmer Prepar 3D v2 recognizes my Saitek X-52 joystick but not my Throttle--help I see many videos of people flying various airliners on their PREPAR program but see none listed in the available PREPAR menu--where does one find them? We are now a month in to the V2 chapter and I've been sitting on the sidelines, lurking, reading and watching. I had track IR 2 and finally gave up. Never got it to work real well in any sim. Is Track IR 5 an improvement?

Or I will buy it again. No matter what, I'll like this more than Vector because you get OPTIONS.

I'm looking for recommendations on ideal orbx scenery to pick up. I currently have kjac, kbzn and central rockies. I will likely pick up pnw while its on sale as well. I tend to fly jets, so I would be looking for suggestions on orbx scenery & airports that would pair well with the above that I could fly a 777 or 737 to.

Is there any way to make the ground texture more darker ? So only city lights at night flight will be seen ? Thank you ! (Im using ftx global)

All went well with the installation of diamond point. But as soon as the scenery loaded, I knew there was some thing wrong. No 3D grass. Although I had set 3D grass to full(level 3), I knew I had done everything else correctly and all other aspects of the airport are OK. Any suggestions? Quick reply would be appreciated.

Hello, I am considering buying the Global Ultimate mesh from Pilots and I see that it is +100 GB when it is fully installed. I currently have 2*250 GD SSDs where one is dedicated to FSX. That means that half of it would be taken up by the mesh. Is it possible to create a virtual link to a folder on the second SSD so that I do not have to install it on my main FSX drive? Espen

Hi all I recently bought a new PC which arrives next Monday. I think I recall a licensing provision when purchasing P3D which said that it is good for installation on one PC only. Will I run into problems trying to install on the new PC? Anyone else tried this?

For those that have re-installed the OS.. does setting up P3D 2.0 easier if FSX is installed first and add-ons are installed there first? I see a lot of references to FSX installs in the threads on add-ons for P3D 2.0. When I get back from vacation I am about to re-install Windows 8, and just wondered if I should install FSX first (although I anticipate that I will not use it much, especially once PMDG come over to P3D). Does FTX Global Vector require FTX global? I went to go purchase Vector and found a notice on the sales website that global was required, but was under the impression that it was not required.. Hoping someone can shed a light. Thank you. -Damien

7 7 I'm having trouble getting squawkbox to work correctly with p3d2. I used it without any problems in the version 1.4, but I cannot get it to work now. I start the simulator, then squawkbox and connect to vatsim. Everything seems to work well, and squawkbox interfaces nicely with the radio in the majestic dash8. However, it is unable to inject any traffic. No traffic shows up in the simulator or in the traffic display in Aivlasoft EFB (which is newly released for p3d2). I have tried running both a Vanilla version, and with the migration tool active, and nothing works. I did not need to use the migration tool before in version 1.4. I do not want to try to launch the …

I am not familiar with REX products. Why can't find weather.exe for the setup screen? Also, when I save a theme does it save the theme in both FSX and P3D2 at the same time? Thanks in advance to all who reply. Bill

Hey everyone, I need a little bit of help For some reason my game isn't loading at all. I press on my launcher, the load screen pops up for about 10 seconds, then disappears completely. I've opened up the task manager to watch the process, and it looks like it just kills the process itself for some reason. I have absolutely no idea why this is happening. Before this happened, I was installing FSInn, then changed the program version to let FSInn work again. Since then, the sim won't start at all. I've even tried running my backup copies of the launcher, and no dice. I have also tried removing the prepar3d.cfg files, and that also didn't work. Any and all help …

Anyone understand how Global Texture Detail settings of 1024x1024 versus 4096v4096 would impact the P3D V2 rendering behavior? Never been sure what this variable does... Thanks!

JV just making a statement on how he feels about .1% of his customers. This was people having trouble with vector as you need to buy a mesh to really make it work. If you have installed Vector are you experiencing the problem with duplicate bridges. All the bridges in the SF Bay Area have this problem (at least for me). It has been posted numerous times on the ORBx forum but no one has addressed it. If I disable Vector problem goes away.

I'm thinking of giving myself FTX Global. I see here on there website that there's some sort of sale going on, but I checked on FSS and the price is the same. Does anyone know/think that they will put Global on sale anytime soon? Also, did they release those special packs with detailed areas? (Sorry I forgot what they're called, and I don't see anything on their site.)
