I was getting OOM's which seemed to be caused by Plan-G. I have now flown for six hours with only P3D2, Plan-G v3.07.71 and Opus v3.36.1 running without a problem. I have set Plan-G to File --> Options --> Map Provider --> OpenCycleMap and the OOM's which I thought might have been Plan-G related have vanished. Of course it might be a coincidence but it is worth a try.

Hello Avsim pilots, I am considering a purchase of FTX NA CRM with Bozeman and Jackson hole while they are on sale, however I am an FSGenesis user and I also have GEX 1.099 and UTX SP 1.6 installed as well. Will I be unable to use the FTX Regions due to this?

Full disclosure - These screenshots are in FSX but I prepared this with using it as a suggestion for you v2 users who are seeming to suffer from OOM's more often than FSX due to the added overhead that comes w/ P3Dv2 features. A common topic lately is the obsession with HD textures. Lots of times 4096 textures are completely unnecessary for a lot of people. So I want to show you.. Sometimes, when coming in for a landing, I like to use the 2D panel and see the mini panel. Sometimes the mini panel is visible and at other times it is not. I cannot figure out why this is. Anybody else have any ideas? Thanks, Howard

Hi all, I just posted this topic on the Prepar3d fourm. Hi, I'm new to this forum, so hope I'm in the right place. My son bought me Prepared for C'mas (at my request) and was eager to see it compared to FSX. Install went well and was able to set some settings, and found it was much like FSX. But when I went to trying to fly, it came up with a military jet going in circles around some airport and I could do nothing to control it. I never used the Affinity Mask tweak in FSX because it didn't seem to make any difference in FSX. After stumbling across a topic about the effects of the tweak in P3D 2.0 I decided to give it a try, specially because I sometimes notice ground textures loading their highest res version when I am getting pretty close. Not as bad as it was in FSX and not distracting, but still. So I decided to take off with the F22, a plane that flies a lot faster than my default A2A C172, and fly straight ahead, just to see if it would make any difference. I could use a little help from an knowledgeable user of FTX Global with a problem that may or may not be related... I'm trying to troubleshoot what I suspect is a compatibility issue with PW Caribbean sceneries which results in severe stuttering around the islands of Antigua and St. Maarten. They appear to be autogen related. With Autogen completely off, the stuttering vanishes. If it's on at any level, it's equally bad. It is my understanding that Orbx has created custom autogen files as part of FTX Global. If like to try and turn them 'off' (move or alter the BGL file(s) responsible) to see if I can isolate the source of the incompatibly. If this is indeed the …

I just bought this scenery along with Jackson and Bozeman and their respected ground texture packs(Central Rockies, Fjords and Pacific Northwest). Both of these other sceneries look great yet for Juneau there are some ground textures overlapping parts of the runway in Juneau. I already tried a fresh install for Juneau and it didn't change anything. How do I fix this problem? Also, I do not have anything like UT installed. I do have the freeware Utah pack installed but would that really have any effect? Especially with Jackson Hole being much closer and still working fine? Never mind, I see the problem. needed to buy a different texture pack.

Hello, i saw a post awhile back claiming that desert regions had airports full of grass, as i fly mainly in desert regions, this can be a major game-breaker for me. Did they address this issue? If not whats holding them back? (Im guessing it just needs a simple fix) Thanks for reading!

I've been doing a lot of testing today (I just can't help myself ^_^ ) and I discovered two things. After discovering this, I had to smile... because it turns out I was wrong about a few things. When you change something in P3D and something bad happens, you usually think it has to do with the latest change you made. Well, turns out that it doesn't have to be so. The cause of the bad may have something to do with something you did without thinking about it. Or something you did before. It's like with the chicken and the egg: which comes first? I have heard others say that they have autogen as far as the eye can see and I have seen some videos where this seems to be the case. However on my machine, I can see that the autogen does not place far from my aircraft. My detail radius setting also has no effect on the autogen I see. Setting it far left or far right makes no difference. I am using FTX Gobal and my scenery settings are all to the far right at the highest level. I am I missing anything? I have i5 2500k @4Ghz, 670 4GB, 8GB RAM, 256 SSD.

Since it seems I can't finish a longer flight without an OOM I am thinking about getting an addon that can autosave my flight every two minutes or so, so I can at least proceed the flight from where the OOM happened. Now I only know about FSUIPC's autosave function. My questions are: 1. does the autosave function work well with P3D 2.0? 2. does it work 'gapless' (can't think of another word) or do you clearly notice it when the game is being saved? 3. does FSUIPC have a (negative) impact on performance? 4. are there any other autosave options available? Buying FSUIPC only for this is a bit costly (and can't think of anything else I may use it for)

I think i have another temp fix which could help with the bouncing aircraft and allow people to keep tessellation turned on. Very simple test. Go to display settings and turn tessellation on then go to scenery settings and lower the texture resolution to 1m or around that amount ( you may be able to increase the setting if you get no boucing ), restart the sim and test with an aircraft you know will bounce when you taxi and fingers crossed it should stop. I have the Carenado CT182T installed which is a real bouncer for me and it no longer bounces when i taxi or take a trip down the runway.

Hello all - I'd like to purchase a trans-Atlantic aircraft (Boeing or Airbus) add-on that works with P3D v2. I read that Aerosoft had auto-pilot issues and not sure how reliable that is. What are your preferences for this kind of aircraft, keeping in mind that I don't want to tinker with installation etc to make it work, I have the migration tool which hopefully will do the work. Thanks in advance.

Hello all and Happy Holidays! Has anyone experienced this with the Q400 (since adding the update). I cannot for the life of me figure out why I cannot keep the wings level once AP is engaged. I have tried moving the Saitek X52 joystick left-right-up-down etc but nothing works. As soon as I apply the auto-pilot, I get the attached. Any clues? I just bought P3D, but I cant get a full screen. I have the fullview option set but I still see my windows taskbar at the bottom and the P3D title bar at the top. Any help? Thanks.

What's a good mix of add-ons... I'm all mixed up. Example: What does FTX Global provide that REX4 texture Direct doesn't ... are they addressing totally different aspect of visuals.? Are there any incompatibilities between 3rd party add-ons from different vendors ? REX4 is going to offer a suite of 4 products: weather engine, textures... this approach might be a good one for compatibility. What is active sky AS2012 ? Engine smoke displays perfectly in P3D 1.4 The same smoke fx file used on the same aircraft in P3D v2 looks totally different. Does anyone know what needs to be done (to the fx.file ?) to make it display the same. In P3D v2 it displays over twice as long and does'nt spread out and dissapate like it does in 1.4 It's also much more black.
