Voice Control Version

The Speech Recognition tab in my control panel does not match Step 1 (Speech Recognition Engine Setup in your Tutorial Flight. The only options available to me are Text to Speech with a voice selection of Microsoft Sam and Voice Speed.I have downloaded from your website SAP but this does not resolve the issue. I would appreciate any other suggestions you may have in regard to this problem.Dick B.

Hi bryon, we meet again:) just noticed this after i reinstalled to new pc etc when starting fscrew the main door opens than 1 sec later it closes again, if i open it again manually it closes so what am i mising here in the setup? or anyone else can help be good too

I'm not normally someone to try something new (other than aircraft), and am rather picky about my addons and am skeptical of products that tout immersion and realism as selling points. For instance, bought TrackIR for the realism effect and rarely use it, because it's not real. I run a UK English Version of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.I can configure and train the Windows Speech Recognition software but, like a lot of people, Windows Speech Recognition won't work for me because of the error "Speech recognition is not supported in the current language'.There seem to be no fixes that work and I am restricted to one language (UK English) because of the one language limitation in Windows Professional.I can change my Region to United States but not the language to English (US).Would FS2Crew PMDG J41 work for me or not?Thanks for your help,Toby

I'm loving this product more and more, and was now hoping a real pilot (if one should read this forum) might answer a question for me. As the manual says, if the autopilot is on, then the pilot would enter heading and course changes himself; followed by the FO confirming it verbally. With autopilot off, the pilot directs the FO to make the changes for him. Add to this ATC, where I believe the FO would normally handle that, but I can't do that in FSX (without another addon). So my question is this: do captains handle ATC very often, and then direct the FO to make heading, speed changes etc...with the autopilot on? In a flight today, I was busy with ATC and hence dire…

I have a quick question.... in most add-on planes there is a way to turn off the volume or disable the virtual copilot in the configuration manager so that it doesn't interfere with the one in FS2Crew. But for the J41 there is no such option in the config manager. So I was wondering if FS2Crew automatically disables the default copilot callouts or whether there end up being duplicate callouts being played simultaneously by two different voices.Thanks,Al

Hello I bought the software yesterday and first I was a little overwhelmed with everything, also my speech recognition was not really working.Today I got the checklist from WebMaximus (Many Thanks!) and a new microphone.....and voila it works like charm! Great stuff :-)Secret question :-)I love the window lock function, specialy with the use of EZDOK (when switching views, you have to open again all popup`s) it would be very nice to be able to make this also work with the autopilot popup or any other popup.Is there a way to add this function to any popup? I've read the manual a couple of times, but I'm unsure about one area. Everything else seems to work fine for me.

I set PF on the configuration panel...then what? I turned both batteries on, but I hear nothing from the FO after he reports the cockpit in a cold-and-dark state. I turned both batteries on. Is there a specific voice command I am supposed to say to get the FO to begin his actions of the cockpit acceptance/ pre-flight checks?

Last night I purchased a Logitech headset with mic, and this morning your J41 Voice program. I think I will enjoy this fully, but I have a sound configuration issue. When I plug in my USB headset, all sound goes through my headset. When I unplug it, all sounds goes through my external speakers. I'm aware of the HS button to separate the FO sounds, but I can't even get that far, as I'm unable to have the headset plugged in and have external sound at the same time. I'm sure it's an easy solution, but I'm stumped. My OS is Vista. Thanks ahead of time for your help.

Hi,I'm totally lost. After numerous attempts with this I still haven't even managed to get to taxi the plane because 3 hrs have passed and it's time to do something else. I can get voice recognition to recognise only about 1 in 20 attempts at a word. I normally bypass the Turn Check totally because I cannot get it to recognise "Complete". It takes about 50 attempts at the word "Checked" as it usually only recognises "Check". Australians do a really good American accent as we are exposed to it from the first minutes of our lives. Hello,when I do a second flight with FS2Crew (without starting FS new) I have the problem that I can´t Move the throttles forward, seem to be locked. Im sure I´m do something wrong but what?Thanks,Holger

Is there a way to stop the FO from saying "captain the engines need 3 minutes to cool down" after calling for shutdown check at the end of a flight? I didn't realize that the engines needed to be cooled down before they are turned off? Does this mean that passengers just sit on the plane and wait for the cool down before they deboard? thanks

So, I flew a couple of flights this weekend and it worked pretty well. But, sometimes, I couldn't get him to do what I want. For instance, I was trying to set up for the approach and he was in clean up on one flight. I tried doing the landing checklist on final and he wasn't responding. Sometimes I would call for flaps and he wouldn't respond, etc. I'm assuming most of this is my fault. But, when this happens, sometimes I keep going. So, for instance, I landed without the checklist. And, he's stuck at landing. If I advance the main screen to the next thing (say roll-out or after landing), he should do his flows and then be able for the checklist, right? I got t…

Just bought this and its my first FS2Crew product after much hemming and hawing. I like it a great deal, but I have a problem where certain things I say causes Windows 7 to start doing things (launch commands, switch application, whatever). Is there a way to set this so that it only works on FS and doesn't start launching mail (or whatever). Thanks. Windows 7 64, I did the training, and followed the manual. Thanks a bunch.

Wouldn't it be cool if after the captain says that it' ok to start passenger boarding you could hear the chatter and sounds of people boarding the aircraft and at the end of the flight people leaving? Much like the add on Airport Enhancement Services does for a select few airports but I think that add on feature would be more appropriate for FS2Crew since the timing of boarding and debarking sounds would be better.Any chance of this being a feature that we could see in the next update or future releases like the PMDG 737NGX?thanks

Just after the FO calls 'Engine stable' for left engine, FSX freezes for 2-3 seconds.What exactly is happening at that point?

Well, minor requests to me, but they may not be that easy.1. Is it possible to get the Timer in the Main panel? It's the only reason I have the Config panel open, and less menus blocking view is a good thing.2. The ATR version had a random feature after the FO had done his walk-around.Sometimes the FO reported an oil pool and so on. You then had to contact the Ground crew to clear this issue.It's filler I know, but it added even more realism somehow.

I would really like to get the j41 voice commander edition, but I don't have speech recognition installed on my computer. It looks like I need Microsoft Speech Recognition Engine V5. I can't find any info on where to download this. Msoft says to install it through add/remove programs, under the section Microsoft Office XP. I don't have this listing. The only Msoft office product that I have is outlook 2007 for my work. Other than that I use open office. I really want this product so please help. Thanks!

I just started to have an issue with my microphone input levels. It seems every time I click in the middle of my WX radar to open the FS2crew gauge, it resets my microphone input level to 0. In other words, I set my mic level to about 50-60% in windows 7, speech recognition hears and understands me perfect. I then click open the fs2crew interface in the J41 and my mic input slider is moved down to 0%. FS2crew then can't hear me at all. I then have to shrink down FSX go back into my microphone settings in windows to raise my input level back up.I never had this issue until just today.Any help would be appreciated with this.ThanksRichard M.

I have experienced this for some time now.In the beginning I thought I had forgot to enable hard mute, but recently I have watched this very carefully.FO sometimes speaks as if I have given him a command and it always happen during Climb.This time I heard exactly what he said: "Speed nine two hundred set".The response is not every flight, but every third or so, and not the same command.I am 200% sure that hard mute was enabled, so what can cause this? Keypress of some kind?
