  1. Speaks for itself mainly - Had a bit of fun creating 'Snow Force One'. Should I release it to the public? Fixing a few small things (like putting reg specs back on) and removing the IDG Panel door texture on the left side of each engine and a few small other adjustments.. Opinions guys? Cheers!

  4. Hello I have to re-install the B747-400F (B747-400 installed alreday) but when I insert the Key Code, it says is not valid. I find my Details on PMDG Homepage after Log-In, I have the Order Number, but no valid Key. On the instalation setup shows, must be a 5 Digit number! Where can I find this number? Thank you for your help. Kind Regards Stephan Ricci CEO air Switzerland virtual Airline

  5. Probably just by asking this you can infer that I am not a PC tech guru but i was wondering....... my understanding is that FSX is an old 32bit program and was designed to work on a 32bit environment which means that does not use more than 4Gb of RAM. If this is true does it mean that if installed on XP (32bit) OS or Win7 OS (64bit) given everything else equal (let's say a very recent PC aka 64bit CPU and tons of RAM) will perform the same? in other words does the OS matter when it comes to the performance of FSX? This brings me to the next question: PMDG 737 works inside FSX and so does the same apply? does it matter much if the OS is XP 32 bit (which i already have) …

  6. hi all, To my surprise, following a conversation with a tech specialist from another flight sim software company i was told that Windows 10 may prevent the installation of their boxed software due to the following (verbatim): "That is correct. Your drive will be able to view/read the disk but will not be able to decrypt the installer files during installation so will not work. The installation will stop at the point where it is verifying the disk and preparing for decryption. This is the case for any disk that uses Safedisc or Securom DRM (including several of Microsofts own older games like FS2004). As nearly all our boxed products use Safedisc they will be affecte…

  7. Captains- (After a night of collecting data, I have updated the guidance in this thread... If you are having trouble with P3D v3, please read this item and let us know if it solves the issues for you? We are working on some softare updates, but we need some input from Lockheed Martin to understand a few changes that they made that are apparently undocumented...( The good news is that Lockheed Martin has released Prepar3D v3 this week! The bad news is that it leaves us with a couple of things we must fix to give you a trouble-free simulation in P3D v3. While we work to sort out a few issues, we have four fool-proof steps to get you running your PMDG product …

Hello everyone, in order to paint a livery for the 737-800WL I just downloaded the "737NGX -800/900" Paint Kit from http://precisionmanuals.com/pages/downloads/paintkits.html When trying to open/unzip the archive I get an error about an unexpected end of the archive. Can you please review the file and update it to a working archive? Thank you If anyone has a different link with a working version, please share it! Henry

  9. Hello I've taken the plunge and installed P3Dv3.2 and have installed all my scenery and other add on planes. I have hit a glitch when trying to install the latest version of NGX and 777 however. I can't find a reference to the problem in the forums but hopefully someone else has see this. I get the error attached when trying to install. An outdated version of Prepar3D has been detected. Before you can install the PMDG 777 for Prepar3D, you will need to update your simulator. Please install Lockheed Martin Prepar3D v2.4 or later. My P3D v3.2 is the latest version and has been activated on line. This was complete reinstall of P3D v3.1, I uninstalled the…

  11. Captains- I am spending a dreary, overcast Saturday testing out new mathematical models related to the fuel system, and I thought I would swing by with a few images from Jason's recent test-flying down Sydney way. (Jason lives in Canada... So naturally he bids for all the southern hemisphere test flying during the winter months! Those crafty Canadians!) So, back to the point of the post... If you look closely at the image of N744PM parked on the ramp at YSSY, you will notice something a bit odd... Something very rarely seen on an in-service 747-400... Yes! The optional fifth-engine pod! One of Pan American's original design requirements w…

Can anyone recommend a good 737NG checklist that fits on one 8.5x11 page that will fit in the checklist slot on the glareshield? I want to print one off and laminate which I can do at work. Let me know your guys' recommendations. Thanks all. Front and back would be fine so theoretically a two page checklist would be perfect. I doesn't have to be specific to PMDG but I am asking here since this is the most likely place to get one that covers everything since PMDG is essentially the real aircraft if you ask me.

I have only ever attempted a couple of repaints and really don't understand a lot about it. Does anyone here now if repaints that worked on the original PMDG 747 will work on the new 747 v2? I have a week off work and I'd like to make a few while we wait for the release but don't want to put in the time nor energy if they will not transfer over. Sorry if this has been covered already, I did a search and found nothing on it. Mike Bartils

I have been away from Flight Simming for quite a number of years and obviously need a lot of help, my advanced age is a hindrance as well as a lack of familiarity with the products involved. Recently purchased P3d v3 and got it installed on my iMac in bootcamp. Works fine. No Microsoft FS installed. Purchased the PMDG 737NGX (basic & add-on) but have not yet installed it because I wanted to read some of the documentation before taking the plunge and getting it installed incorrectly. The Introduction document that came with the download from PMDG has a lot of information about installing in FSX, what to be aware of, recommending not to use the default location …

Hi captains, in my thread on the upcoming DC6 tutorials I mused about learning in the PMDG tutorials nicely when and why we have to do what. http://www.avsim.com/topic/485979-dc6-tutorial/ One of these was for NGX -- if I haven't dreamt it -- that after switching on the beacon before push back *only* HYD DEMAND PUMP ELEC1 (the right one next to ENG2) is switched on... if I remember correctly, because this does *not* pressurize the front wheel steering: As long as push back is not completed moving the tiller could injure the rampies. 1. pdf tutorial 1 does not mentioning switch them on at all, I thing in order not to overload the newbie.…

  21. Hi captains, I couldn't find a thread on this, but how do FSX jet bridges operate on 'my' simulated aircraft? I just watched Kyle's NGX supplementary tutorial #2 (short trip to Baltimore) and in the end the jet bridge connected to the aircraft. They never do that in my sim, but to the AI aircraft around... 8^( Can I fix it?

  23. Okay, so yesterday I spent most of the day cleaning up my ever bugged FSX installation. What I've found from experience is the more add-ons you cumulatively use, the more sluggish and error-prone FSX becomes every month (honestly, that's my experience with windows as well). I'm using a four year old system, albeit a very high end one for it's time, and it runs FSX pretty well. From time to time, I've found it to my benefit to wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows from scratch. Similarly, from time to time, I uninstall FSX and reinstall from scratch to debug any errors that have crept into my simulation experience. Typically, this works pretty well. I'm using box…

  25. Fellow Simmers, Just wanted to share this here as I've seen many experiencing this issue with PMDG aircraft. I've experienced this with many other add-on aircraft as well. After experiencing the issue of FSX freezing in-flight for 5-10 minutes then resuming many times over the last few years, I've finally found a workaround that will eliminate it completely. I'm not calling it a fix because it's definitely some sort of bug in FSX that conflicts with a Windows OS resource or service. The short answer is, exclude "Core 0" (including the hyper-threading on that core if applicable) on all multi-core processors from FSX by setting an affinitymask. If you only have a …
