Next big things in XP12 world are CPU threading and default scenery updates. I'm looking forward to both, I can't hide that. But that gets me thinking, what it will be like? Unless I somehow skipped some talk from LR about default scenery update, I can only wish. We all know that LR certainly can't pull any ortho (satellite) imagery data, especially to stream it in real time. It's easy for Microsoft when they own Bing maps, Azure, etc etc. But LR must rely on old technology, like Open Street, land class data, etc. Speaking of OpenLC data, my expectations and practically my wish is LR to pull something like ORBX did for Prepar3D - FTX Global (complete ground…

Which do you prefer and I would like to hear why. Doesn’t seem to make much difference to me as far as performance. Windowed allows you assess to other apps were as full screen maybe a little more immersion though not much. In windowed view I can protect my charts on a second screen projection on the same monitor but I use my IPAD for that. Doesn’t seem to matter much to me. What do you think?

I’m a recent XP12 convert and now it’s time to look for a tube. I am elated to find these Flight Factor 757 and 767 models, planes I’ve wanted since the LVLD 767 back in FSX days. They are pricy for a retired codger but I am willing to pay if they are: 1.polished finished bug free products and not another pay to beta mess. 2. study level true to life systems. I hate to measure against another developer and don’t want to start a tribal war but PMDG has long been the gold standard for Boeing jets in the other platforms so is the FF 757 or 767 near their standards in quality of fidelity to the real aircraft and cockpit graphics? 3. and how about technical supp…

Hi, As most here know I've been working on night lighting for X-Plane 12 for the longest time in an attempt to get a closer to real look, with that said... I noticed that XP12 doesn't dim the lighting as the distance to the source increases. Is this something that's possible? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ivDWf5nIRa9IBsyPJGzseIp3nhgW_zhi/

(not as if anybody cares <grin>) I'm recently back here using XP12, having been encouraged by a few pix I'd seen amongst other things (hats off to Filou, as always). Been spending most of my time in MSFS since it came out, but also got XP12 on release. Previously a very happy user of XP10 and particularly XP11, but got blown away by MSFS's visuals originally. Still a big user of MSFS, mostly 2024, but XP12 has really grabbed me again in the last week or two. I've read through a couple of threads here talking about the benefits of XP and I'm not looking to start another "us and them" post, but just wanted to present my own thoughts as they're not apparently what…

When I ran the updater today, for the release and Beta branches (v.2.6.21), it installed copies of the FF757 Pro, I activated it, but when I load the aircraft a popup adverts that the aircraft is not compatible with the Xp12 version I am using... When I close it, it still loads and I can use the 757. .) The FMC reports the navdata is not valid (1703 if I'm not wrong), so I tried to use Navigraph Updater which I use for the base xp12 install, but when I search for the FF757 as a separate product it isn't in the list of FF addons. It can be found among the "Xplane GNS430, FF757/767/777 etc" option, but if I choose that one and then edit the path manually to set it…

Are a lot of X-Planers using xOrganizer? Is this a must have? With my scenery upgrades sometimes they conflict and I have huge high-rise trees right at the start of the runway. WTH???? https://store.x-plane.org/xOrganizer-v3-XP12_p_1636.html

Hi Everybody, Now that I have my night lighting adjustments just about done, thought I'd spend some time working reshade for day flight, during my editing I came across this amazing looking storm over Tulsa. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qm9Y786E5jF790cvCGpuaMh-MHcmxjWU/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rW4AypAaj5GN39zIbxi_nTWnkpz1qk1B/view?usp=sharing

I've been using the Reality XP GNS 550 for many years on X-plane 11 and it has always integrated well with the autopilot. Today I installed the Reality XP GTN 750 and it does not integrate with the autopilot. When I check the GTN 750 settings they are locked so I'm assuming that's why it's not working with the autopilot but I do not know how to change it. Any help would be appreciated? Thanks. Unfortunately I wasn't able to figure out how to add a picture of the GTN settings.

Any idea on the following error in the log file? Can't post in discord otto thinks it's a repeat message, otto should be schooled!!!. 0:00:00.368 E/NET: Download failed with error: 6 for URL http://lookup.x-plane.com/_lookup_12_/server_list_12.txt 0:00:00.368 E/HTTP: Error: Couldn't resolve host name (for URL http://lookup.x-plane.com/_lookup_12_/server_list_12.txt) 0:00:00.368 E/HTTP: Curl Error Buffer: Could not resolve host: lookup.x-plane.com 0:00:00.368 E/HTTP: HTTP Headers: 0:00:00.368 E/NET: Download failed with error: 6 for URL http://lookup.x-plane.com/_lookup_12_/server_message_12.txt 0:00:00.368 E/HTTP: Error: Couldn't resolve host name (for URL …

For those interested and may have missed the latest news - Nimbus have shown some preliminary pics of the B707 they have had under development. Still away to go me thinks so maybe before Xmas but they are not saying (fair enough). No mention of whether they plan variants of the 300 such as the military version or a cargo version. It appears they are going for the INS as a nav system to keep it authentic (It will have to be a CIVA). A certain buy from me when and when it makes it to the stores, https://forums.x-plane.org/forums/topic/337365-nimbus-707/

Saw an article reporting that FlyJSims development is in bad shape due to life issues affecting Jack, the lead dev. FJS shared in their Discord that the 727 rebuild for XP12 is for all intents and purposes dead, and the 732 is moribund but might get a compatibility patch for XP12 at some point. the only bright spot is that the Q400 is in good shape for XP12 and will continue to receive updates as needed. this is extremely sad news as the FJS 727 was one of my personal favorites in XP 11 (it is, in fact, still installed and gets some occasional use ☺️). I had been looking forward to the v12 rebuilds as the new sim version is so much more enjoyable than be…

I continue to be flabbergasted every day with what I am seeing AND feeling in XP12.2 How can the other sim be described as the best graphically? Quite incredible what LR and the addon community has achieved! EDIT - Apple Maps Pro with the Map Enhancement Tool Pro.

Trying to do a 2nd install of XP12 due to it refusing to start. XP support got back quickly to my email and said to do a 2nd install of XP12. However it now requires one to create an "X-P Identity" before it will let me proceed. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks.

Just did a fresh XP12 install on another drive (E). How do I tell the new XP12 on E where to find the ORBX library which is on Drive D? The old XP12, not functioning, is on Drive F which i haven't removed yet. Probably a simple thing but it seems to escape me, LOL. Thank you.
