I'm building tiles as I type. My question is, what is the difference between the built tiles, and an Overlay? If I run XP11 with the Ortho4XP tiles, without building an Overlay, will I see any difference upon flying over my assigned tiles, vs. no custom tiles. I'm still relatively new to XP11 (i swap between P3D/XP11 now mostly + aerofly fs2 mainly in VR/rift), though i'm growing more used to it and growing is my library of aircraft. I'm primarily a GA person, but i'd like to buy a few payware big tin aircraft to learn how to use them and do longer hauls. I know this has been asked before, but i'm trying to be more specific.. So in layman terms.. what payware should I consider and what do they have that freeware options dont have (IE: better dynamics, etc)? I havent really used any of the P3D PMDG planes thus far, but people always rave on these and only the Douglas exists for XP so far. I'd like at least one to …

I am a fan of P3d. I fly jetliners, particularly Fslabs320. However, seeing xplane 11 on YouTube, I can't help be jealous of the graphics and scenery in 11. The free Ortho4xp makes everything look SO real. Same with xenviro. Given the limitations of P3d being 32 bit, but knowing 64 bit will be announced at some point, does anyone know if P3d will have something similar to ortho4xp and xenviro? It seems that you can fly a lot easier with traffic too. Thoughts?

Hi there, I am currently using Ortho4xp tool to build some tiles in France. I am creating the overlay files from Xplane 10 Global scenery. Above that I am using the Simheaven W2XP Europe Mix. Is it possible not to use W2XP scenery and get the autogen from mesh HD V3. I mean not only roads and trees but all the buidlings too? When usinf Mesh HD V3 alone, autogen is looking very good so I wonder if it is possible to keep this autogen above photo tiles. I am hoping for a better look and maybe less heavy scenery load. Hi, does anybody know, if a developer is working on a Las Vegas scenery? Or is it safe to buy Glitter Gulch? Glitter Gulch looks great and contains a lot, but i like also Drzewiecki-Design and i would hate it, if i buy now Glitter Gulch and a short period later Drzewiecki-Design would have a Vegas scenery.

Hi, I´m new with X-Plane 11 from today!! I have a problem! Installed "Ground service deluxe by Jardesign". Did all the installation as mention in the document but I cant see the ground handling in the X-Plane Plugin menu. It´s the same with other plugins to.except xsquakbox which I can see in the menu. What have I failed by??? I use Win 10. Please let me know a good solution for this. Best regards Sven

I'm new to X-Plane but a long time P3D user and have been loving it - ESPECIALLY once I learned how to make Ortho4XP tiles combined with US West Real Life etc. So awesome, so realistic! But a big problem - oftentimes I can't even get the sim to stay loaded. I make my selection of airport, say KSEA, the sim will do asynchronous loading etc. then I see the plane and scenery but there is a truly massive struggle with very low FPS and hard drive whirring, sometimes for minutes, while (I suspect) all neighboring tiles load up. I have read the pinned nVidia Settings thread in the XP Tips and Tricks forum. Seems like that is pretty old and orientated to XP10. Is what I see there still valid, or is there a better place to see the best nvidia settings for XP11?

As i understand, add-ons like X-Life are needing navdata and i would also like to update the navdata of the XP default gps. Do i need to buy navdata or is there free - of course not the most current - navdata for X-Plane/X-life?

Hello everyone... My question is in the title. I am planning to build a PC come next year, hopefully with the latest hardware then, and I want to dedicate an entire hard disk drive to X-Plane scenery. I was wondering roughly how much capacity I'd need to cover more or less most of Europe and North America with ZL16 orthophoto scenery, with higher-detail scenery around airports. Is 4 TB sufficient, with some breathing room for mesh scenery as well? My current X-Plane 10 install is roughly 300 GB, which includes HD Mesh Scenery v3 and the default global scenery minus the areas covered by HDv3. I don't have any orthophotos yet.

Release Notes: X-Plane 11.01 is a bug-fix patch and minor update to X-Plane 11.00. Linux users can use this version with the DVD as their DRM. Key fixes were made to the lighting model, the FMS for plugin use, and the default aircraft.

Is the EADT still far more advanced? I actually like the default XP11 FMS, and it seems you can't use it in the EADT version? Anyone using the EADT in XP11?

Is there a way to change altitude for ATC after a flightplan has been filed? Sometimes there are mountains and ATC is directing me into the mountains.

We finally released it. Here is an excellent new airport mostly done by Tony Wroblewski aka antwob (Previous released ENHA and ENSD) He did most the work, I added some images and custom buildings to the mix. As the title says, I'm looking for a good logbook for XP11, preferably something that might work with other sims as well. It doesn't have to be freeware as I don't mind paying for something worth it. I started using simbuddy which is pretty cool but it has a monthly fee for the premium version which has alot of cool features. I'd much prefer something I buy once as sometimes I just dont have any time for simming and those months would be a waste. Then it becomes a hassle to turn on/off the subscription for those months. Also looking for something that tracks day vs night hours ect. What's everyone using these days?

Following on from ENHA, I've stepped up to a larger Norwegian airport located in the north-west of Norway. Ørsta-Volda is a small regional airport located in a very scenic part of Norway. The airport is served by Widerøe who have scheduled flights to Oslo, Sandane and Sogndal using their fleet of Dash 8s. The airport is currently under development and I'm working on getting it as accurate as the real thing. Tom Knudsen (who you may know as the author of the XP library installer) lives nearby and has visited the airport and taken hundreds of photographs both night and day for me and all signs and layout should be very accurate as of August 2016. The new KDFW has been released for X-Plane! It is currently available through Aerosoft, though I imagine it will be available through the Org soon. From the pictures, this looks like it is one of the highest quality airports available for XP. Looking forward to hearing how it is.

Hi all, I want to purchase the Take Command! Saab 340A, however first I need to know whether it works properly with X-Plane 11.00 (NOT BETA). Does it work properly with it? Are there any major bugs? And when will there be an update for it to be compatible with v11? Thanks, JWMuller

I'm trying to get some buildings in my Balboa Park, San Diego scenery to show up - or rather, have them show up from a reasonable distance away. As I approach the park, several of the buildings go from black textures/nothing into full buildings but only when I'm directly on top of them - like crashing into them in some cases! I know it's not a missing texture issue as the textures DO appear at some point, I suspect a bad LOD issue - in this shot, the side textures of the bridge are just beginning to show, and the buildings straight ahead are entirely black (but will color in with textures when right on top of them).
