I run X-Plane, FSX, and P3D in W7x64. X-Plane and FSX run on their own HDDs; P3D runs from a 500GB SSD via PCIE. W7 runs off Disk 4 in its own partition, with the remainder of the 1.5TB disk being used for storage. In a new W7 build, can I connect the existing drives and expect the sims to run without problems? What if I used a Windows 10 OS? And finally, the P3D SSD is getting full. If I copy its contents to a larger SSD, or HDD, is it likely that P3D will still run? Thanks!

  4. Hi Everyone, I find it hard to believe that a multiple computer build given to Jetline Systems (after all the rave reviews I read) at a cost of $10,500.00 would result in simple items (like drivers) not getting installed at all. I just spent the better part of two days isolating and correcting something that never should of been allowed to leave their workbench. As I have posted here and on other sites, the main server visual computer kept rebooting once it was hooked up, I was told by Ken to unplug the unit for ten minutes and then plug it back in. This worked once and never again. I finally isolated the problem to "ANY" USB device that I hooked up to the server,…

Hi everyone, I have just recently got back into simming after a few years away. My current system was built in 2010, it is running on windows 7 64bit, has an older I7 920 and two Ati 1gb gpu's. I have my software running from a Samsung 1tb sshd. I have decided since I am really enjoying simming again, to invest in a major upgrade so as to run fsx / p3d as best as possible within my budget. Today I ordered an I7 4790k, msi gaming 5 motherboard and an msi gtx1080 graphics card. Its been a very long time since I was last involved with working on PC's to this level and I'm just looking for some advice on how to proceed with the upgrade when the parts arrive. …

  7. Hi Guys, MSI's website is ridiculous to navigate, anyone have any idea where their bios updates are? Looking for a bios update for a 2011 - X99A GODLIKE GAMING motherboard that just keep rebooting. Seems like its the USB devices that are plugged in that are causing the reboot issue. Thanks

Hi Thinking of buying a vr headset in the next couple of months and not sure on which one to go for. I am very stuck for room and noticed the Vive has a couple of base stations that come with the it, to achieve the 360 use. I have no room to have these setup on a permanent basis and have no interest with games that may use the ability of this feature, my use would be for simming only, are the base stations required to be set up? If the answer is yes then this might put the Vive a non option and put me into the rift camp. My gut instinct is that I want to get a Vive but have not been able to find any reviews to read or watch that are specific to flight simming only wit…

I am about to reconfigure some of my four-year old setup. My selection has yet to be finalised and I would welcome any suggestions that our flightsim gurus may have on the following: MBO: Asus X99-A LGA 2011 v3. Is socket 2011 any better for FSX than LGA 1151? This was my initial question since I really have no idea whether this is an overkill for our old but resource hungry FSX. CPU: I7 6700 4GHz overclocked to 4.6 stable... or more? (I have read another thread here demonstrating that OC up to 4.5 or 4.6 were reasonably doable) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 MHz CL15 GPU: Gigabite GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming I'll keep my 1TB Samsung SSD and my cooler. I presently …

I have just upgraded my PC from Core2 Duo to i7-4790K on an MSI Z97 PC Mate. I have one Samsung SSD with Windows 10, one Intel SSD with Windows 7, one WD 5000 with the Windows 7 backup copy and one WD 360 Raptor with Windows XP. With my old system, I had them all connected and recognised in the BIOS and I could boot any one. Now, with the new system, only the Samsung SSD is recognized. If I connect only the Intel SSD with all others disconnected, it is recognised but, when I boot it, the Windows 7 starts but I immediately get a BSOD. Same thing with the WD 5000 and the WD 360. When I connect the Intel SSD to the Samsung SSD SATA cable, I still get the BSOD. When I clo…

By doing some research, I found for example the Cooler Master Hyper 412S. Good choice ? Comments very welcome. 2/In a second phase I consider changing my video card, again I would need advice on the appropriateness of the change compared to my setup. My config is all in my signature. Hi all, I am a mainly P3D user, flying all kind of the known heavy add-ons that can put load into a system (ORBX, ASN, PMDG, FSL, paywere scenery). Lately I only run FSX:SE because of the FSL Airbus but soon I'm about to go back to P3D again. I only have one sim installed on my computer at a time, so its difficult for me to compare right now their performance. I recently upgraded my GTX970 for a GTX1070. The performance at FSX:SE is good, but not perfect, I get around 18-28 FPS which is smooth but not as good as 30+. I can notice the difference (I also use TrackIR). My CPU is an Intel i5 3570k overclocked at 4.6Ghz using water cooling. What I am wondering about, i…

  22. Hi Everyone, Just got word that my systems are just about ready to ship, and I have a date with Ken for Wednesday of next week to integrate the new computers into the mix. A couple of things he told me about the setup that I think is going to take my simming to new heights. 1. He told me he was running P3D at FULL MAX settings! 2. The setup is able to maintain 60 FPS and has shown no sign of dipping down below that 3. He ran overnight flight testing with no VAS issues, (thanks to no V/C and/or 2D cockpit). The setup: 1-10 core CPU setup, 3-6700K setups, 3-4700K setups: Seven computers run via network with NO V/C or 2D panels, P3D3 is run via Flight …

Hello, I am currently running FSX Gold Edition on my laptop. However, it isn't very powerful which makes it impossible to run PMDG 737NGX and the Aerosoft Airbus. I found this on eBay, it has no operating system which is fine because you can buy Windows 7 cheaply now: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Intel-i7-4790-Quad-Core-4-0Ghz-16GB-2TB-HD4600-Gaming-PC-Desktop-Computer-/191889976621? I was wondering if that PC would be powerful enough to run FSX/P3D at a good fps with addon scenery and complex addon aircraft (such as the PMDG 737NGX) If not could you please help me find one that will work at a similar price. Many thanks, Ben

Hello guys, I need some help and advices. I need to buy a new laptop (it has to be laptop), and i'm in doubt about 2 models: - MSI GS40 - i7 6700HQ and GTX970M 3GB or - MSI GS43VR - i7 6700HQ and GTX 1060 6GB The GS43Vr model is 400€ more expensive and my big question is: GS43VR worth 400€ more? Or in another words, i will have a great benefit in FSX/FSX:SE/P3D buying GS43VR instead of GS40? Regards Ricardo
