Hi, Had installed new drivers-41.09. I installed a scenery and noticed that graphics were strange. I was getting black boxes with little red light in the middle of box. These boxes were I believe the runway lights should be. I notice also that when lights on plane are flashing, these black boxes show up. I have lago "Georender3" and all through out the scenery are these tall square boxes. Even in the trees. So I had my hard drive formatted and had memory upgraded.I fire up flight simulator and I don't see this. I then install some scenery and here comes the boxes again. I thought that if I did an entire cleaning of computer would solve this problem. I made some setting adj…

Sup Dudes, Ok,I have 2 Pc's at the moment, the 'BIG' one which I'm using now-specs below and one in my Bedroom. I built that one from Scratch and it works fine. Now for my problem,I have offered to Swap the PC in my room for a Laptop, which from what I hear is quite out of Date. I want to upgrade it. I already have a 20GB HD(ATA),I'm sure when I find the specs I can purchase a new Processor. The problem is,I'm am pretty much a :-newbie when it comes to Laptops. Are they hard to upgrade? Any Websites where I could get info on the subject? I cant for the life of me find a source on the subject-the way I see it,you can by individual parts-you can open em,you open em…

Hi,i currently have a very modest sound setup in my PC, an onboard AC'97 card and two little speakers connected to it. Works well though for use in FS2k2. I'm reading a lot about modern soundcards and 4.1 or 5.1 speakersets for audio purposes but i'm wondering whether FS2k2's sounds will really improve when i have those. If improvements are eminent, what sets/cards should be considered ? (I'm on a budget for this...)Furthermore, i like to fumble around with little cockpit add-ons and i came across an idea to connect a woofer (or a subwoofer in the case of a surround setup) to my chair to enhance the feel for it all. Anyone with experience on both ?Thanx, Cas

"Hello",I know I should go to the ATi forums for this, but prefer to use Avsim (always get a good reply).Just upgraded to Hercules 9700Pro.There are 2 sets of Catalyst3 drivers on Guru3D.com.One is Catalyst 3 (about 20Mb).The other is Catalyst3a (6.5Mb) plus Control Panel (4.7Mb).Any idea what the difference is between these two ?"Thanks"Rob

Hi guys.Maybe someone has some advice or can point me into the direction I should be going. I upgraded to a AMD Athlon XP 2100+ from a AMD Athlon 1000 which was overclocked to 1.3 Ghz on an Asus A7A266 MB. I also installed 350W power supply as apposed to my old 250W unit. I previously ran Windows XP, and Flightsim with no problems, albeit a tad slow. When I booted up originally everything seemed fine...except my startup screen wasnt showing the processor name only the frequency...I take this as the bios being out of date...so I thought I'll fix that just now. Booted XP, ran 3D Mark 2001 and it rebooted about halfway through the first test. Tried to run FS2002 a…

Does anyone know the hidden key command that allows access to the extend bios setup for this mobo? Last month I followed a link in the FS2K2 forum to a hardware forum where I learned you can access a hidden bios screen to further adjust some memory and other parameters. I lost this setup page when I flashed my bios recently and I have searched the FS forum for this link but I can't seem to find it.

Folks,Okay, it's killing me. I have a bunch of money burning a hole in my pocket (re-enlisted in the Navy so that I can help get some payback for 9/11) and the bonus was generous. So, I'm trying to justify Go-Flight stuff to myself (not to mention the wife). I want to get the toggle-switch thing, push-button thing, auto-pilot thing, dual-radio thing, and the mounting rack. I think that should do me for a while for flying the comm. jets. So, the question is...is it REALLY worth it. Quality, ease of use, all of it. I'd appreciate a response from those that have and use their Go-Flight stuff regularly. It's gonna run me about $700 and I want to make sure that it's money well …

Hi all you system experts,I need your help. I have just spent the week installing the G4 Ti4200 (128mb) card (made by MSI). All works well for about 1/2 hour and then the screen goes blank and the computer resets. This has only started occuring since the card installation. I am sure I have not forgotten anything but I am not a hardware expert. Thanks in advance for you help.Bobfrom the Isle of Wight (where it has rained since 1976!)System specs as follows: GA-7ZXE VIA KT133A, AMD XP1700, 512mb ram, SB live soundcard, MSI G4 Ti4200(128mb) running version 30.00 driversWin98SE, AOC monitor.

Is there any way to get the audio from my TV out to my Sound Blaster Audigy card so that I can listen to my TV audio on the speaker system I use with my PC? There are three RFs on my TV one for video, and a right and left audio. I have made a few attempts at this with no success. Anyone on have any ideas or even know if this is possible. Thanks; Martin.

Hi guys,I have a question about, well you know, RAM. I have 512mb RDRAM @ 800mhz on a P4 - 2,53mhz pc with Asus mobo and Asus GF4-4400 video card. To boost performance would a upgrade to at least 1GB of Ram be significant? Or if cash is no option, an upgrade to 2GB? And at what speeds? Remain at 800mhz or upgrade to 1066mhz?Flyin' High,Matthew Niederbergerwww.fsmagazine.nl

Hi GuysLast week I bought an Amd 2.4xp cpu to replace my 1.4 and installed it in my existing Asus a7a266 mobo with 512meg-ddr gf3 running windows xp. After installing the latest Bios and other drivers, I am far from happy with the increase in performance. My fps has increased about 5% over my old 1.4 although the fps seems more stable and my 3d-mark score has dropped from 5400 to 4800.The questions I have are1. do you think my mobo is the problem (too old to use the 2.4 to its potential)2. If I do replace my mobo what should I replace it with? I was thinking an Asus a7n266 (nforce2 based) I dont want to invest too much because I'm thinking of going back to an intel f…

Hey guys, upgrading my 1700 XP to a 2400 XP. I've got an ECS K7VTA3 mobo, I looked on the ECS website, it says that mobo will support the 2400 XP (non-333mhz), I've pulled my 1700 out and replaced it with the 2400, but I get nothing. Switch back and the 1700 works fine. The core voltage is set at 1.7v, but on the AMD web it says it's supposed to be 1.65. I can't find a place to change the voltage on this board, and jumper 7 changes between 5v and 3.3vThis has actually been a pretty good board, ECS probably isn't the greatest name in mobo's but it's actually been pretty good.I'm running WinXP, bios is ver 2.2 (ECS's latest) VIA Hyperion drivers, DirectX 8.1.I hope I ha…

Hi, Last month bought their Throttle Quad and now I would like to replace my plastic CH yoke. I was looking into the Jet style Yoke. My question to you owners (or wanna be's like me) is what do you think about the table top version compared to the floor standing. I fly a mix, including small singles and I don't know how the floor standing would "feel" If you own it, do you like it? It's about $150 difference in price so just wanted to get some input before I spend that much money. Thanks!!!Rob(posted in another fourm too)

I have the CH yoke LE (USB) & Pro pedals(USB), I have 2 problems. First I set them up in the control option of FS, then they work for awhile, and at some point will just stop working( Im getting good at keyboarding my butt home now). The other problem is that when I go into the control to set them up, the two devices are usually switched assignments and so I switch them back but then I find that the sensitivities are also flipped. I am looking for a way to program them properly, and I have the CH manager download setup but am quite sure Im not using it right, oh and while Im on it I can't program my toe brakes. Im midway through my commercial training (real life) and…

Hi. My system specs areHP P4 1.3GHz128MB RDRAM32Mb NVidia GForce 2 MX.While I get decent framerates around most places (sorry cant remember exactly what the frames are off the top of my head), in certain areas, especially Sydney, LAX, and Heathrow, I get major stuttering, especially when I'm on short finals. It nearly becomes impossible to fly!!! This is with the default scenery and pretty heavy AI. What would you guys suggest that I upgrade, I was thinking of going for 256Mb or 512Mb of RAM, but looking at previous posts, maybe my video card could be the problem. Thanks in advance.Mark0402

Would anyone have any idea why my benchmark scores vary from one test to another sometimes only minutes apart? For example earlier tonight I got a benchmark of 8033, not changing any settings at all I ran it again straight after and it was at 7402. This is not the first time this has happened. Sometimes I can drop 1000 in subsequent tests! Hi, I recently downloaded Meljet new airplane from meljet.com, the Boeing 777. I really like the airplane. In FS2002 it runs fine...but the virtual cabin gives me problems. I can watch a view of the engine and wings from the interior cockpit view. However, if I turn to look at the back at the virtual cabin, my computer crashes with the sound pspspspspspspspspspn. This is the only problem I'm having right now. Please help. My system: AMD Duron 954MHz, 384MB RAM, Geforce 2 GTS 32MB video card, 9GB Hard drive, Windows XP, Biostar M7VKD motherboard.
