I have an 80Gb drive running Windows 2000 Pro and am using only 7.87Gb worth of space. I have a second 20Gb drive to which I want to copy all of my data from the first drive (including Windows 2000 Pro). My question is this. Can I do a typical disk copy from the first drive to the second like would be possible from the second (being only a 20Gb drive) to the first (the larger 80Gb drive)? Even though my first drive has only 7.87Gb worth of data on it, does the fact that it is a larger drive prevent me from copying all the 7.87Gb worth of data to the smaller drive? Thanks,Robb

I need some recommendations on CPU cooling. Since I have my computer in my small bedroom, I need to think about ways to making it quieter. Right now, the fan on my Athlon is very loud. I made the mistake of asking for a more powerful 'jet engine, heavy duty' sounding fan instead of a quieter one when I got this comp. Since I sometimes leave my comp on all night to process something, its sometimes hard to sleep because of my CPU fan being so loud. The power supply and the fan on my Radeon dont seem very loud at all though. Are there any other products that can adequately cool my Athlon while keeping quiet? I been thinking about getting a heatpipe, but i'm not too familar wi…

Hi all. Im running FS2002 with 1.8ghz, 512MB RAM, 80 gigs, and a very old Radeon 7000 PCI cideo card. My computer didnt come with an AGP slot so I'm stuck with buying a PCI video card. The Radeon gives me horrible framerates, especially with add-on scenery like the Simflyer's airports and it also looks horrible. I was wondering what the best PCI card available is that I can buy to replace this one. Price does not matter. Also, if you could, post a screenshot using that card somewhere in the screenshots forum. Thanks!

Good afternoon fellow flyers,I live in Palma de Mallorca and getting PCs here is a drag. It looks like this is about the best on offer. The same shop also do a p-4 2.8 for not much more. If anybody has a similar system to this I would be glad of your input or if anybody has any criticism on the setup I would be most thankful.Motherboard Gigabyte 7VAX (AMD)

I'm wanting to upgrade my ABit BD-7II board to 1G of memory. Crucial state that either PC-2100 or PC-2700 will work with this main-board (although I may have the flash for the latter, I'm not sure). I currently have PC-2100 installed. Is there any noticeable performance in PC2700 vs PC2100? The prices are somewhat similar. Thanks,Bruce.

I recently purchased the CH Yoke and I'm having trouble with the amount of play in the yoke. I do not have the pedals therefore have no way of adusting the rudder. Is there a way to tighten the play so that the plane doesn't vary so much from side to side when approaching the landing? This mainly happens when flying the PIC767. It's not as bad with small planes. Thanks for you help.

Please exceuse the very off topic post. For those of us in the US, it's almost tax time. I've heard the latest Turbo Tax product around has some sort of "spyware" included. This could be just hype from people that don't like taxes, who knows. Anyone here heard of any issues from installing this? Thanks,Bruce.

I recently downloaded a firmware update for my Linksys Router Model BEFSR41 and am now unable to connect to a Multiplayer session. I was on the phone with Linksys for an hour and they sent me a different firmware version and after installing I still cannot connect to a multiplayer session. If I bypass the router and connect the cable modem directly to my PC I am able to connect to multiplayer with no problem.I realize that there must be a setting in the router configuration that is set wrong but am unable to determine what it is.I have DMZ host enabled.I am running WinXP home.Any help would be appreciated.Thank you,Craig [email protected]

A few days ago I was playing NHL 2003 when my system had a total crash. Windows said that there was a system failure, it had recovered, and to restart. I followed the instructions, but since I have a frame pause in every game or sim I use (including FS2002). Roughly every 1 or 2 seconds of smooth play is interruped by a pause, which is then followed by smoothness. It does not go away.I reinstalled my video drivers, defragmented the hard drive, and ran a virus scan (just to be safe). Nothing. I ran Windows Update, nothing. I un/reinstalled FS2002 and NHL 2003. It still is there. Is it possible this crash damaged the video card? When it crashed the screen froze for …

Hi allI just discovered a really nasty problem. I currently have three computers connected in a network with a linux router on end. THe last computer connected the other week. When flying online tonight the mouse on my main FS PC became very sluggish. Not responding at times and freaking out at other times. FS2002 ran just fine though. After some trouble shooting I turned my new computer off and the stuttering of the mouse on my main one disappeared.Does any of you guys have something of a clue of what could be interfering between these two comps? I also would like to ask if someone has a good link for a free network sniffer. I thought I should investigate the traffic bet…

HELP!! I just built a new PC and noticed that the video card bus is showing as "AGP (PCI Mode)" (under Display Properties, Settings, Advanced, GeForce4 Tab). I checked the BIOS and it is set to use AGP for video. I am currently running with the NVidia 41.09 drivers and DirectX 9 (upgraded from DX8 and older drivers to see if it made a difference). I have not been able to run FS2002 for more than a few minutes without it crashing or rebooting my system and I am wondering if this might be part of the problem. If anyone has any ideas on how to get true AGP to work I would be most grateful. My last resort will be to do a backup of files, reformat my drives, and reinstall …

I have a P4 1.8G with 512M PC2100 DDR RAM, Win XP. I'm running a G3 Ti200/64M video card, and am wondering if a G4/128M card might give better frame rate results? If so, any suggestions of a card to go buy? Thanks,Bruce.

Hello all,I bought a AMD Athlon XP 1800+ about a month ago, and I can't get it to work at 1.53 GHz, it will only work at 1.15 GHz. If I set the clock speed to 1.53 my system will be highly unstable.I have only 192 MB of SDRAM, could this be the problem? Thanks

Hi,Just recently my 3D Blaster4 Ti4400 GPU fan has developed an intermittent but regular ticking noise as if it was running in a loose bearing. At times this can be quite loud and distracting but, so far, has tended to quiten down if the system is left on for an extended period during the day. Can these devices be serviced? I imagine all I can do is attempt to apply some lubrication to see whether it will help. If so, how do I go about it?If lubrication does not help, is it possible to purchase a replacement unit? Or, are there better fans on the market for the Ti4400, bearing in mind that I have a 4 port USB 2.0 Adapter covering the PCI slot adjacent to the AGP slot?I do…

I have a Compaq Presario (stop laughing!) that was one of the first Athalon 1gig processor machines from them. The max amount of ram that it will accept per Compaq is 384mb. Right now, I have 256mb in it. Due to some bills and what not, I don't want to get a new system just yet, but would like to do a small final updgrade to wring out the last bit of performance of this machine. Now my questions:My current ram is 100mhz in speed. I know that putting in faster ram won't increase performance over the 100mhz, but will it still work at the lower speed. What I mean is, can I put readily available and easier to find PC133 SDRAM in along with the existing PC100 SDRAM? Will …

Got some GoFlight stuff. Bought the GF166A, GF-T8 and GF-P8. However, I'm having problems. The T8 is being recognized as a P8. So, when I flick a toggle switch, it acts as a momentary switch. The LED flashes. If I want to turn the panel lights back off, for example, I have to toggle the switch again.I haven't gotten a response from GoFlight yet, though I'm not sure I emailed them using the right address. Anyone with problems similar to these?I'm using GFConfig 1.25 (came with the modules). Thanks,Chris
