Ok, I know there must be a way to do this. I am running WinXP pro, CH pro prdals, and a CH flight yoke. All are gameport. The problem is that when I want to use my MS Sidewinder, there is no way to disable the twist rudder and enable the CH pedals. I have tried deleting the rudder assignment from within FS2002, but I can't get any response from the CH pedals. It seems like a lot of people are using stick/pedal configurations without problems, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to get these to work together. :-zhelp Any help will be appreciated.Thanks.

Good evening all, I am building a new system consisting of an Asus A7N8X Deluxe mobo,A pair of kingston 512 DDR PC 2700 Ram,Athlon 3000 cpu and Radion 9700 or maybe 9800 when it comes on the market. What would be the best OS? Also I was thinking of dual Maxtor 7200 hard drives with the OS on one , And MSFS 2002 and accessories on the other. I already have the MOBO and the RAM so I am locked into those components. Any advice would be great! Thank's from Jim

Good evening all! I have the ASUS A7N8X deluxe, Athlon 2800,Elsa 64 meg GF3 Vidio card and 2 sticks of Kingston KVR333X64C25/512 PC 2700 DDR ram. Running on Win-XP Pro. My problem is, either stick will work alone, but not together! I have tried different slot combinations on the motherboard. Also different cas timings, and user defined settings. When I used the aggressive setting, that was the only time the DDR mode was displayed on the startup screen. All to no avail.I am out of ideas! I have heard of other brand names having problems, but not Kingston. What should I do? Thanks From Jim! P.S., I get 14 FPS with the PICPOSKY 767 in the default London to Paris flight with …

Hi All, I recently got a Dell 8250 PIV with a Redeon 9700 TX video card (this makes Flyer Ken a happy, happy boy!). The system rocks, but... When I run FS full screen and then alt-tab out of it, and then try to go back into FS by pressing the icon on the taskbar, I get the blue sceen of death (no text).I'm using the default Dell drivers. My question is, would upgrading to the latest Catalyst drivers help, and has anyone with a system like mine done the upgrade successfully? Thanks in advance,

Hello folks I am new here, great website and super library. anyway, I currently have a PIII 550 with 192M PC133 and an ASUS GF2 GTS, and needless to say, i get a horrible framerate on FS2002. Not only the framerate, but the game's jerky too, guess because of the CPU. with medium and even low settings i get about 10-15fps @800-600. Now i'm going to upgrade to an AMD 2200+ and get an ASUS A7N8X (with nF2) and perhaps 2x256M DDR 333 (since the a7n8x is dual-channel). Folks, do you think that i will see quite a significant improvement? If anyone has a similar rig what fps does he get a maximum sliders and 1024*768? I am going to remain with the same GF2 however, as unfortunat…

Does anybody have personal experience of the Apple 17" Widescreen TFT monitor (shipped with the 1GHz IMAC SUPERDRIVE)? What are the advantages (over a 19" CRT for instance) and drawbacks (TFT response times?). Would a Widescreen monitor be a better choice for the MS Flight Simulator 2002? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi all,I have an Asus V8420 128 MB with dual out, and two Visionmaster Pro 450 19" monitors. My system is an Asus A7v333 with 512 MB.Nvidia reference drivers 40.72 are on my system, as is DirectX 8.1I have been trying to display FS2002 on both monitors, but i can't figure out how to do it. It works fine in XP, i can spread windows over two monitors but in FS it won't work.I did see the post from Georgi55, and the shots look great, i would like to have that too, but he does not point out EXACTLY how he got it to work. Do you have to work windowed, or full screen etc. etc.Can anyone give me detailed instructions how to set up Nview and FS2002? (maybe Georgi55 himself...)Grt…

I have XP with SP1 (I'm not sure what version of DX this represents). I see that DX 9.0a is available, and have a question about the validity of a restore point. If it all goes bad after DX 9.0a is installed, does restoring from a pre-set restore point bring it all back again?Of course, I don't expect any great improvement with DX 9.0a and FS2002, and using a G3 Ti200 card (I think I'll wait for FS2004 before buying another card). Thanks,Bruce.P4 1.8G1G PC2700G3 Ti200.

I was fortunate enough to pick up an ATI Radeon 9700 pro video card. Is there a post somewhere that describes the ideal settings for this card for use with MSFS 2k2? I am looking for settings both within the game itself, as well as settings for the video card. I have an Athlon XP 2100, 512 Ram. I run the game in 32 bit, at 1024x768. Windows XP. Thanks in advance. Looking for the right combination of eye candy and framerate!

I heard the nVidia FX with full antiliasining is MUCH slower than ATI 9700 pro!.. ATI 9800 pro is due for release and is DDR 256 bit, while fx is DDR2 128 bit. I also heard that another verison of ATI 9800 Pro with 256 bit, 256mb of DDR2 will be comming out in april..So it seems the nVidia FX bottle necks with the 128 bit bus vs. the 256 bit bus ATI has, even though fx has DDR2 and much higher clock speed is is no help since it severly bottle necks, thus, ATI 9700 pro is much faster!!!!!please help!!! me make up my mind!!! I'm tempted to wait for the ATI 9800 pro 256mb DDR2 in april.I'm mainly getting this upgrade for FS 2004 and LOCK-ON MAC!!!!! which are not due out unt…

Anyone have this problem? For some reason, I cannot use a joystick with a USB on Flight Simulator 2002...the joystick stops responding about 10 minutes into a flight. I built my own computer...SOYO P4VDA motherboard, Pentium 4, 512 RAM, Windows 98SE (did the same with Windows 2000), Soundblaster LIVE Soundcard. When I called Microsoft, they told me to disable the sound...great advice...(even though when I did, the joystick worked fine....duh). I am using a Logitek Wingman Digital joystick, but using it in the motherboard's gameport.I'd sure like to upgrade to a better joystick, and be able to use the USB inputs...any advice? THANKS!Chris

Hi allFirstly - I have to apologise because I already posted this in the FS2002 forum before realising that this forum existed.I built my P3/1000 machine around 18 months ago and only put a Geforce2Mx video card into it.Actually, I am quite pleased with its' performance. The only places that the system doesn't like much is city areas such as London . Flying around the UK , I get quite good and useable framerates until I hit London .But, at this stage, I can't really justify upgrading to a P4 and also believe that replacing the Geforce2Mx with a Geforce4 TI is probably not warranted either.I do believe that a Geforce 3 TI "would" have been the ideal match for the P3/1000 a…

For the most part am unable to upgrade from the lowest rsolution and color. I've followed help menus and updraded nvidia drivers from their site. Also, the Dell 992 monitor is not listed in device manager. Im wondering if nvidia 32 mg card is just shot after almost 3 years. Another thing I dont understand, I was sure this is a AGP card, however when reviewing description in properties it indicates PCI bus ?Any assistance is appreciated.
