Hi,I am thinking of purchasing a CH Yoke for FS9, question i have is am i correct in saying that it's not force feedback? and if not is there any sort of builtin 'resistance' in the movement or does it just sort of flop about?Cheers

Yeah baby.I've been using a CH yoke for a few years now, and the original lubrication on the device has been slowly but surely wearing out. At this point, I can "trim" my aircraft by placing the yoke anywhere within the first 30% of motion in either axis, and it'll stay there. :)I understand that dry lubricants are probably best - is that correct and does anyone have any good recommendations for materials/types/brands of good lube? And to think my girlfriend once slipped - "Can I fly the flight stimulator?!"-Greg

Ladies and gentlemen,Nvidia released their new forceware 52.16 drivers today. I downloaded them and saw a much smoother and better performance in FS2K2. The graphics are notiumproved as far as I can tell, but the performance is and most importantly, the sound stutters are a thing of the past! Hope you'll like them too.SP

As some of you know, I intend to build a new pc. Based on your experience, what is THE BEST video card (overall) out there? I really want to get opinions before I go to the store. (Sorry for such a broad topic but I want to know as much as possible.)Thanks!:-jumpyhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg------------------Kenneth WeikTWVA395 / [email protected]

I am planning an upgrade from what is now a fairly old CPU (AMD 1.4GHz) to either the 2500 or 2800 Barton. My mobo is ok, but I have seen a reference that Win98 can't take a speed above 2.4. - something to do with a virtual driver NDIS.vxd.Does anyone have any thoughts on this or is using either of these CPU's with Win98SE? I do not want to upgrade to XP at this time.ThanksDavid

Go with the best in times like this. Partition Magic is the only answer. Certainly there are other opinions about this, but Partition Magic has such an excellent record that other options should be given short shrift.I don't know if MS has an inbuilt disk manager for what you need but I would not use it if they did, same as with anything concerned with security - always use the top quality follow on programs.

Hello again!Last night I went off to my local store and bought myself the Asus A7N8X Deluxe - the one I had my mind on for a while.I've installed it, power on, POST OK. Changed some BIOS settings (FSB 100 -> 133, system time and CD ROM set as second boot device - all other settings set to default). Now for the problems1. I got to the Windows XP menu and selected windows XP home - no go - just a blank screen and automatic reboot. 2. I Selected F8 and safe mode start up - a few command lines appeared and then it froze when loading a file related to the VIA AGP driver. It then rebooted.3. Selected Windows Recovery Console - haven't a clue what to do here - typing 'help …

I have enjoyed very good overall performance with my system using complex sceneries and aircraft such as PMDG. My frame rates were always in high tens at least. No stutters.I attempted to plug in my other monitor and that was the point when the hell broke loose. It was like a pandora's box. It hang my computer, so I was unable to reboot it. Eventually I got into the safe mode, reinstalled my drivers and directX. Performace dropped tremendously. Then I reinstalled my WinXP Pro system (over the existing one not to loose my complicated settings) and defragmented after that. Still bad. I have even erased FS9.cfg and rebuilt it by starting the FS again, but no luck.I am gettin…

Hi all,I am going to start the process of building up a new computer in the next couple of months and am trying to figure out a few things regarding the ATI video cards that are out there. I have been using a G4 Ti4600 for the past year with decent results, but I like to keep on top of the technology curve if possible. Anyway, it seems that ATI makes the best cards for FS2004 right now, so I am going to get one. However, I have read numerous places that the cards have flickering/blurring issues in the menus and in the game itself. ATI users: is this present in ALL ATI cards or just a few models? If so, which ones? Also, is the "leaked" driver (omega) just a tweaked …

Would it be wise to buy a case with a mother board and power supply already in it? Then add the rest of the stuff on my own... I have an AMD2100+ processor which is running at 100MHz on the CPU FSB screen in the BIOS of my motherboard (MSI KT4V). This means that its only running at 1500+ as it shows when i right click on the "My computer" icon.I changed the FSB to 133MHZ as from what i understand this will get the processor to run at its correct speed of 2100. I managed to load up my computer with the FSB running at 133 and after booting up i noticed the computer had recognised the processor as the AMD2100+ that it is.Now heres the problem. When i load up flightsim it locks up. Is this a cooling problem? as my computer does run quite hot.I`m considering getting a new fan today if this is the …

  19. In preparation for the installation of FS2004, I upgraded my system (new 19" monitor and a 128mb ATI Pro 9700 video card). Immediately following the installation of the video card I began having serious lockup problems. Eventually we (my neighbor) got my system working acceptably, but after installing FS2004, the lockup problems once again appeared, though they now occur only in FS2004. The lockups are total, as no rebooting is possible, only a full powerdown and repowering of my system will return it to operation. Initially the lockups occurred with everything (Train Simulator, Wordpad, etc.), but after I returned my system to CompUSA (who had installed the ATI card) and…

I recently downloaded the dell drivers from driverheaven and yes, they do fix the annoying flickering. However, a major problem I have with them is that my monitor's refresh rates seem to be limited to 60Hz at any resolution above 1024x768!! At 1152x864, my ideal flightsim resolution, 60Hz annoys the crap out of me because I REALLY notice the monitor refreshing itself!!! ANy clues? Tips? Hints? By the way, I'm using an ATI 9700 AIW PRO 128.

Hello Everyone,I'm getting round to ordering a new motherboard any day now. After lots of research I settled on the 2nd revision of the ASUS A7N8X Deluxe motherboard. It's got everything - including a game port that many other new motherboards don't seem to have anymore.Despite lots of rave reviews, I discovered a serious problem reported by many users of this board that could be a serious show stopper:"Bios - save - death" Well, that's what many users call it. Basically, you make a change to the bios, save the changes and exit, and then the machine won't POST upon restart - blank screen, nothing! It serious - and widespread, a search on groups.google.com for the term…
