The flight sims I like to fly are MSFS2002,Falcon 4.0,Commanche 4, and Fly 2. I like to add scenery and aircraft to these sims. My CH Products Flight Sim Yoke works correctly with Win98 on one computer, and I have a Microsoft Sidwinder ForceFeedback operating correctly in WinXP on a different computer. The Flight Sim Yoke (bought 4 or 5 years ago) will not work on the XP computer, even after downloading the drivers from the CH web site. The gamecontrols control panel indicates that the yoke is connected okay, but there is no movement during calibration. I have a Dell computer with a combined sound and game controller (SB Live! Just sitting here minding my own business last night when my second monitor suddenly gave a little ping and the image turned pink all over. Picture is still there, but faint lines can be seen on the screen and image is fuzzy.Turned it off and on, rebooted, checked cables, settings, etc. etc. No avail. About half an hour later it gave another little ping and turned yellow. That's how it remains after twelve hours.Has it blown up on me? Hi folks,I've been searching around for AMD CPU combos that will take my 8X AGP card. My choices have narrowed down to the Nvidia based ASUS A7N8X board (of which there are -X, -VM and Deluxe variants)along with a relatively small OEM processor (2200+), or an Abit KD7 (VIA KT400A chipset) with a larger retail processor (2400-2600+). Is the Nvidia 2 chip really that much better than the VIA KT400A chip? If so, how does it compare to the newer VIA KT600 chip? Hello Everyone,Well, as far as functional upgrades to my machine are concerned, I'm finished woohoo :-).When my parcel arrived this afternoon. It contained the AMD Athlon XP3000+ and the Thermaltake Volcano 12 CPU cooler.I set straight to work. Upgrading the CPU wasn't as easy as all that. The main trouble was the CPU cooler. The rear clip needed perfect alignment and even then needed a pencil tipped eraser to push it in (couldn't use my fingers in the tight space). Once the cooler was properly clipped on, I wasn't sorted yet. I had to get the motherboard tray in - trouble here was the PSU got in the way of the rather tall and fat cooler. Hi! Last august I got myself an Nvidia GeF FX5200. It's ok for my need but the fan went belly up (a real Mickey Mouse that fan!!)Can someone tell me a place or a link where I can look for a replacement fan, hopefully of a better grade. I'm in Canada and would prefer to find one this side of the border to avoid custom delays but would get it from US if needed.The alternative would be to send the card back to Nvidia, US I presume, but I'd rather pay for a better one rather than having a replacement.Thanks for any help,Hugo

I just installed my new FX 5200 graphics card.put all settings to high every thing looked great but!! no cockpit view, all i have is a black box were the panel should be. When a move my mouse over the black box i get the little helper boxes but no panel. all other views work find. This is in all the aircraft. Is there something i'm missing as far as setting up the graphic card

I went to see FS2002 and FS2004 on a AMD Fx-51 3200 system today. Although the FPS were very good indeed even at 1280 x 1024, in both sims. I was a bit concerned at the 'blurry effects' of the buildings in 2002 and 2004 which ruined the sim I thought, as I am looking for a new high spec system to generate good quality images. The FPS for 2002 ranged from 40-55 at EGLL (Gary Summons) UK Scenery.For 2004 it ran between 35-40.All settings were to max, apart from the weather which was set to Boken in 2002 and fair in 2004.The 3.9 driver was installed, which apparently is the latest driver.Has Anybody any thoughts of how this can be overcome?Best Wishes to all.Chris JH EGBB

I am thinking of changing my Geforce3 Graphics card to either a Geforce 5900 / 5950 or ATI Radeon 9800 XT c/w 256 DDRAM. As I am looking for quality of image more so than FPS, I am wondering which card is best for my new proposed AMD FX-51 machine, many thanks. I needed a PCI card, and that seemed to pack the most punch among the available options. Before I did that I tried my old card in there too, a GeForce MX440 w/64MB.This issue came up with both cards. I'd start FS9, and everything looks OK; frame rates pretty good with most sliders about 1/3 to 1/2(on the newer card, with it locked at 25fps, I'd be pretty close to 25 most of time), and pretty stable too. I have only ever installed Windows 98 on a PC but as my new PC has come pre-loaded with XP Pro and all sorts of stuff that I don't want I would like to re-install XP Pro from scratch and have a clean start.Do I just insert the XP CD and select the new installation option rather than the upgrade option? Should I re-format the hard disk first to get rid of everything or will the new installation option do all this for me?As XP was only activated about a week ago will re-activation so soon cause alarm bells to be set off at Microsoft? I figured out somewhere that my P4 2.4 with 533 MHz of FSB was being successfully overclocked to a stable 3.0-3.2 GHZ with stock cooling.I wanted to try this out too. Where should I start? I know how to change the CPU clock speed in the BIOS, but is that the only thing I should change? What about voltage? When should I change it?I remember one day I tried changing one of these settings and my system wouldn't boot up, I had to manually set the jumpers to reset the factory CMOS settings. Hi everyone,I am having a problme with the new 53.16 drivers from nvidia. I'm using a Ti4200 and I had a problem with AA like everyone else, before 52.13. Those drivers solved the problem for me, but gave me another one. While I can already check out the kneeboard while flying with 2x AA, I cannot scroll down. The only part of the kneeboard that scrolls down is a small portion on the lower part of it. This also happens with FS Nav, on the flight plan window. Only the lower part scrolls down, while almost everything else stays on the top. Looks like only the lower part is redrawn.Is anyone else having this problem? DId you solve it? How?Help appreciatted.

My HDD took a dive (along w/ my motherboard yesterday). . .I think I had a voltage spike or something because it smelled aweful and didn't work. Anyway, enough of the crying. . .I bought a new MB which came in a combo w/ processor for 100$. So I'm happy there. Now finally for the question: Should I get a seagate barracuda 8MB seek cache drive or a Western Digital 8MB Caviar drive? I had a WD that was the one that got toasted, but I may be able to get it repaired under waranty (3 years. . .wow!) I am in the process of upgrading my video card. I currently have a GeForce Ti4600. Can some kind soul explain the difference between the nVidia GeForce 5900, 5900 Ultra and 5950 chipsets?? i went down to my local pc store and the FX5600 256DDR is the worse card for any game so today iam going to take a major step and go for the MX440 128MB 8XAGP u may say iam stupid but i noticed in Fs2002 when i had an MX the fps were amazing and the quality was amazing ! so i think in a few mins iam going to buy one reply with your opinions
